If Mathes set out to get people talking, he sure succeeded in that. Has there been any reference to sources or where he may be going? This all honestly just seems like an attempt at getting people engaged and talking during the off season. This 24 hour news cycle/social media/say anything to get clicks schtick is getting tiresome in the mx realm.

Any long section that’s slightly curved with rollers or jumps means zero passing. Every single time. And they still use that regularly. Just recycle designs that were loved and produced good racing. Fuckk reinventing the wheel for the sake of it. Use designs that work and stick to it. Get 10-15 good layouts and use the left over time and energy on more dirt and using the full space.

The approval of some of these track designs (like this past round 3 of SMX) is baffling. It's like no one actually looks at the design and uses judgment as to if it will provide passing opprtunities and good racing. I get that floor space is a design constraint, and that is amplified at smaller venues, but with the ample room available at Thunder Ridge, that was not really a factor.

Weege is increasingly becoming a complete corporate shill. He’s always trying to spin everything Feld does in a positive light and how every change is for the better. He also does this while belittling the fans’ intelligence, something along the lines of “you guys at home just wouldn’t understand” or “here’s what EVERYONE gets wrong” is now said almost every Weege show. Again, he’s completely leaving out the fact that we will no longer get Matt Burkeen’s raw race footage because that requires you to be on the FLOOR. This is a complete disgrace because that is 100% the most...

I've always felt like the riders should score the same points as their position. Low score at the end of the season wins. SX should be the full 22 points for last. ( Riders that don't qualify get an automatic 25pts)Maybe cap MX at 25 for riders finishing 25th-40th? IDK, the more I think about it, the more difficult it becomes to score guys that only make a round or 2

Feld only cares about money. Feld does not care one iota about our sport. Feld will burn our sport to the ground if it makes them a few extra bucks then move on to the next thing . We all know this.

I’m not sure if its because timing and scoring was so jacked up, but a few different times throughout the night they just took everything off the screen… and it was awesome! It would be nice if they did that more often. I know its good to have timing and scoring up but you dont need it every single second, maybe when its the middle of the race and its just a battle up front take it away for a few. It was like getting glasses for the first time after being used to split screen double vision for years...

It’s not hard to adjust a few elevations to allow drainage in case of rain. Building the start straight in the middle, as the lowest section with no drainage, is just dumb. They built a pool. They need to use the low sections between double/triple jumps as drainage channels, to give the water an easy way out. With “decades of experience”, the track designers know the predictable disasters and should build all the open stadium tracks to avoid them. It’s not like we’ve never seen water falling from the sky before..

At least during the delay we get to relive the terrible camera work for the supercross finale. Roczen and Hunter separated by 1 second with the championship on the line and we got to watch the battle boxes with Webb in 7th for a couple laps. Who thinks this is a good idea.

Steel City was my hometown track. Lots of great memories there. One unique memory that always sticks out in my mind was in 2002 -- but not the 2002 National though. The opening round of the local D5 Spring Series was the weekend of April 13-14. Also happening that weekend, about 400 miles away, was the Pontiac SX (RIP Silverdome)...

The extra floor space thing they're trying to sell with these soccer stadiums is hilarious. Look at the track maps.... it's a 6 lane supercross track. The California round doesn't use the start straight for a lane the rest of the race. That's the use of the extra floor space. Plenty of the football stadiums that SX uses can fit a full size soccer field on them. We've had Birmingham and San Diego SX in similar stadiums with lap times low 50's. They've went from Chicagoland weaving all over to SX tracks with more sand to try to increase lap...
