Haha. I think I missed 2006. I raced 2005 and 2004. I won my class in 2004 and was winning by a very nice bit in 2005, but ran out of gas right at mile marker 8 on the last lap. I think I still took 2nd in my class because only 2 of us were on the lead lap with the pro’s. Thad Duvall and I were in quite the battle on the last lap, passing each other back and fourth a bunch. We were in different classes, but the battle was still a lot of fun.

Sexton has been posting pictures from back home in Illinois at fair races and the track he grew up on and riding bicycle down country roads surrounded by corn that needs to be picked..... don't care what anyone says or where he ends up he's a real one and I'm always going to root for that guy.

incorporating the half pipe was a fun obstacle I think they outgrew it, if I remember correctly Wisp parking was very limited. Now they are damn near out growing Snowshoe.

Remember The Wisp in McHenry, MD? That was my favorite GNCC ever and it was absolutely beautiful there. I wonder why they stopped racing there.

I ride that area of the country 500 miles is doable for sure.

Some guys are guys other guys are not guys but sometimes a guy that wasn’t a guy becomes a guy and the guy that was the guy becomes not the guy but that doesn’t mean he’s not a guy, he’s just not the guy because now the other guy is the guy.

Riders shouldn’t get paid to go. Riders should, however, compete for prize money. And at this event, lots of prize money.

Webb may have the lowest point total ever for a supercross world champion lol. 19 points got it done.

I watch at home now. Watching the pros hit those triples and rail the corners up close is as cool as it ever was. Supercross hasn’t changed and $200 is chump change. I’ve changed. When you’re older your tolerance for the crowds, parking and just your fellow human beings diminishes. Your favorite recliner, big screen with your dogs looks better and better.

im in the same boat. this was talked about in the LA WSX thread a couple weeks ago. When you figure in gas ($7/gallon here in los angeles), parking, food, drinks, taking a family of 4 or 5 is gonna set you back around $1,000 these days. No thank you. I'll pay my 12.99 to peacock, BBQ dinner at home, and sit on my couch and watch it, then fall asleep with a half drank beer. Whats crazy is I remember paying $25/ticket for A1/A2 around 2020/21. Its stupid now.

As an American, regardless of the results, still the best race of the year. Cooper Webb would be the first rider I would call for Team USA next year regardless if he’s no longer racing MX. Classic performance by him again in MXON. Congrats to the podium winners.

Webb final year in MX. Podiums final round at Ironman. Switching teams when he gets the call to fill in. First Team race gets 6th. At any point he could’ve sat this one out but didn’t. When he looks back at his career this has to be one of those moments when he knows he gave all.
