If it's SMX why can't one round be at an outdoor track? These tracks take away from any legitimacy the series had.

What’s the chances of SMX continuing if WSX dies off?

WSX has nothing to do with “SMX playoffs” we have a playoffs because of the money NBC is pouring to the sport to have playoffs , all these other organizations or racing promotions is irrelevant to how nbc wants to run & represent American moto & supercross

Wasn’t SMX a reaction to the big promises of WSX? I remember WSX making some crazy bold statements about taking the riders from AMA outdoor MX..

Anyway.. I’m sure not paying to watch WSX live.

Some people want to believe it was, but no.

nah , WSX , AUS SX , hell all of us can throw some money up to fund a vital supercross league for people to compete in , it don’t matter wht new racing league is forming , if feld or the powers at be didn’t cave in to the money nbc threw at them , we’d still run the same sx & mx schedule with MEC in October , all this smx branding & smx playoffs is a nbc deal , which also why I said in a thread like a yr or 2 ago , I’m curious to see how fans will rank or benchrace a riders career with the “smx” playoff titles because if the nbc deal goes away & say we go back to espn or fox sports , are we still going to have a “playoffs”

Vegas needs to return it was really good racing and the track was great .and it was  packed with people every where. .they are going backwards with these venues .just like the sport always does for some reason

Total agreement here.  Have one final on a real Motocross track, one on a SX track, and one on a hybrid MX/SX track.

Extra floor space is nice but that seating capacity is... Yikes. 27,000 here vs 45,000 at Anaheim for example.

The first year's tracks were great. You'd think they would improve and evolve but instead it's got increasingly worse every year

The extra floor space thing they're trying to sell with these soccer stadiums is hilarious. Look at the track maps.... it's a 6 lane supercross track. The California round doesn't use the start straight for a lane the rest of the race. That's the use of the extra floor space. Plenty of the football stadiums that SX uses can fit a full size soccer field on them. We've had Birmingham and San Diego SX in similar stadiums with lap times low 50's.

They've went from Chicagoland weaving all over to SX tracks with more sand to try to increase lap time. It is what it is but stop the BS.

Use an existing Pro outdoor track and build a SX track there.

I get the money grab to sell the 3 Corny SMX “playoff” rounds to new venues.

I recall that the President of Daytona Int'l Speedway openly said he wanted an SMX round last year so I'd be curious for a followup on that. Daytona would add some much needed atmosphere and prestige to a postseason that currently feels very flat, which is the opposite of what the postseason is in your biggest sports. Also seems way too obvious to have 1 of the rounds at a motocross venue which you could rotate between current national tracks that wanted to opt in. The 3rd round should be in Vegas but if it has to be on the nature preserve because of Bass Pro Shop sponsorship, whatever, 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

I would trade SMX for Monster Energy Cup like it was in the mid 2010s.

But hey, now we get to race in a Bait & Tackle Shop parking lot with no seating. Yaayy.

WSX only came about because Feld dropped the FIM in anticipation of the SMX partnership with MX Sports and NBC. As expected FIM put the "FIM world championship" moniker out to bid and WSX was born.

These are disappointing. I really liked the hybrid tracks. I hoped the speedway venues that were tried a few years back would become more commonplace in SX, but that seems to be gone too.

I agree. I do think going over the barriers created some one lined turns though.

GA $105.  $242 service fee for 8 tickets.  Just getting ridiculous.I think the seats are standing on the grass
