He should be given credit for a being a man with no EGO. He knew he was not gonna win or even come close to it and thats huge for someone on his level. This does not happen in racing anymore. If the MEC were a European event and Tomac went to race it, you can bet your ass he'd have plenty of pitchforks waiting on him. For every pitchfork that awaits Tim Gajser at the MEC, there will be 100 people who are just happy to have the MXGP champion in this mix, and who admire him for having the balls to risk failing. Gajser will get treated like royalty. Especially if he battles hell bent and makes it more exciting. If he were to win it, he'd be cheered and congratulated. Only a very tiny fraction of fans here...
