I’m guessing you measured the original base gasket thickness and installed the same one?

The only format changes I know of are changing from engine displacement sizes (125,250,open 2t, 250,400,500 4st. ) to E-C1-3. Originally medals were awarded based on fastest rider in your class. Now that is based on fastest Club rider if you’re on a club team. Old way your time was vs the Trophy guys.

A buddy of mine and I both had 83 Cr480’s. When the 500 came out he had to have one. Front disk brake and right side kick starter, it looked like great upgrades. After his first ride he was wishing he still had the 480. I kept my 480 for another year.

Sandhill was great before Tom sold all the sand. 85&86 Golden State and Trans Cal conditions were pretty nice. E Street in the early 80’s was good, especially practice and early Motos. Second Motos whoops got pretty big.
