That was a heart breaker for sure, just shows it ain't over til it's over.

I was also pretty bummed for the Italians when the Fantic took a dump from just a little water.  Very odd.

straight in the airbox and filled it with water... Cristino was pushing the start button but couldn't make out if it was turning over or had locked it up.

Yep, big bummer for them.  I suppose nobody really had their mud/water prep going based on the other conditions.

Big result for the US!

Aussie women did well to hold on for second with a rider out.

I don't know if Ernée was prepped for the french team, but Argentina was sure tailor made for WORCS racers...

Wink

Kudos to the US team anyway, they were ultra fast.

I was more surprised by the Swedish juniors on that kind of ground, who really would have deserved their win...

You're not wrong.  Almost makes Garcia and Verona still dominating even more impressive.

Big shout-out to Taylor Robert, one of the most under-rated off-road rider ever, for his last race. First raced ISDE in 2010, was part of the team the 3 times USA won, won two time his class and once overall, won an EnduroGP overall in France, 3 WORCS championship and even finished Erzberg. I read one of his idol was Kurt Caselli, i'm guessing KC would be proud of his achievement. Happy retirement !

Does anyone know how to find the individual overall results? Results on the official site are quite frustrating.

Finally caught up on all the racing. Great riding for the overall by the US, 3 riders in the top 5 is amazing. Special mention to Taylor Robert for an amazing end to a career and to Josep Garcia who is absolutely the fastest person I've had the pleasure of watching ride a motorbike in any discipline, he's a demon on a 250.

He also has a couple Hare and Hound national championships...When it comes to well rounded riders, he's gotta be at the top of the list.

Garcia is unbelievable to watch.  He makes so much stuff just look effortless....smooth, drifting corners, jumping bumps...

Actually Taylor never won a NHHA title, injury’s always took him out.  Still one of the best America has ever produced!

No funding provided from MA. They had to make a choice, and decided it was too dear. I believe was $300k.
Aussie chicks self-raised money, and that was still bulk coin

What puzzles me is that there were no OZ Club teams.

It's always cost a shedload to go to the ISDE. Many did it on their own bat for many years.

I'm completely out of the loop with regards to the ISDE Teams and participation these days, but I find it strange that  there were no Aussies other than the Women's Team. Perhaps there were, and I've just not looked hard enough.

The Swedes, from what I've read (and what was written, could surely been wrong), could still have won the Junior, even with one of them not finishing the moto. Although, I think it would require the young fellow to get his bike across the finish line, for just the one lap, but I've also seen written that  the size of the jumps / ground, meant he couldn't do so himself. Such a bummer for them.

I've also read that some 'shenanigans' got one class leader the win. Being the ISDE, well, it wouldn't be the only shenanigan that happened. It's long been part of it all. Whistling

Holy smokes, you’re right.  He was so dominate that I assumed he won a couple titles.  Wow…

Also, does anybody know what format change these guys are talking about?  They brought it up in another thread but have since went missing when asked to clarify.  I don't remember any major format changes in recent times but I've smacked my head a few ties and toked enough devils lettuce to not exactly have the greatest memory these days Laughing

The only format changes I know of are changing from engine displacement sizes (125,250,open 2t, 250,400,500  4st. ) to E-C1-3. Originally medals were awarded based on fastest rider in your class. Now that is based on fastest Club rider if you’re on a club team. Old way your time was vs the Trophy guys.

Slower, lol...

(The final MX moto on the 6th day was shorter for club teams)

I'm on Nate Ferderer's email list, and he explained the what the Swedes did wrong...and alluded to the shenanigans by the club team overall winner (Toth, I believe)...he posts here, he can elaborate

From his email:

"I feel I rode to my limit, but it’s still difficult to accept my limit wasn’t as high as it normally is. I finished with a silver medal, missing out on gold medal by 30 seconds! Josh Toth set a really high pace to finish on gold (within 10% of his time), and my riding wasn’t my best. However, I can take a small moral victory knowing Josh skipped a section of transfer trail on day 1 while having heat stroke, relied on IVs to stay hydrated, and ran out of gas and had to swap bikes to stay in the race – enough to deserve a DNF. These are sneaky trophy team antics Josh learned over the years that he brought down to the club level – don’t get my wrong he rode great, but there is a reason trophy is trophy and club is club."
