40-50$ upstate NY….worth every penny…..owning or running an even moderately prepped track is hard work…gladly pay whatever the fee and enjoy every minute…..wish we had some more single track area”s/parks in my area, I”m  at the base of the Adirondacks…..a 6 million acre park…..tree huggers have it completely locked down from any off road use….👌

Agree. The amount of work/money to maintain, staff, and insure a motocross is significant.  I doubt anyone is getting rich off running a motocross track.  There are a ton of easier ways to make money, which leads me to conclude that track owners do it for the love of the sport, which is why I don't bitch and complain about track conditions at any specific track on social media.

Open Wednesday after 3.00pm and Sunday’s from 9.00am.
Most other tracks are $20-30. There is a free track about 20-30 min away but it’s basically a pit bike track.
I’m down here in New Zealand where the majority of tracks are maintained by volunteers and run by non profit clubs.

Wow $50 is getting up there. We don’t even pay that to race a club day !!  Business owned tracks are charging more I guess and the company owned trail rides are around $70. But they come with 100’s of km of trails ya know.

The Supercross ticket thread got me wondering what you all are paying for practice fees throughout the country? A new track opened here in FL and practice is $60, discounted to $40 if you pay $30/monthly for a membership. Other tracks are anywhere from $15-50. Where are you located and what are you paying?

New Track ? where ?

North FL is $40, same for Bostwick. Stopped going to PAX so I don't now their fee.

Motobros Okeechobbe is $50 and worth every penny (too bad a long drive for us but 2 big bikes track, parking neat and clean, a shop with everything you could need, showers and clean restrooms in an A/C building. Organized practice by level and flaggers. A benchmark IMO.

I think Cahuilla is still $40 also. You can prepay 4 ride days and get the 5th for free, so technically $32 each.

So far here in MN. it's been $40 with a $10 gate at Staples, $40 at Trax North and Kingston, $45 at Meadow Valley.

When i was riding myself (1990-2002) ..5€ Smile in Belgium . Now almost everywhere in Belgium, Netherlands and France around 20€ . Axel is most popular place (sand) . I thought it became expensive but it seems to be cheap Smile

The land taxes are higher in NJ , that may contribute to the higher cost

Yeah, moved in February. We wanted to get out of CA. for a while and we built a house here. It's a great state to live in, that's for sure, but the cold is almost upon us, and to be honest, we just miss CA. I think if we lived closer to the cities it would be better, but being up in the Brainerd area there isn't much to do, unless of course you hunt or ice fish and I don't do either of those.

Oh, Trader Joe's is a 4 hour R/T away, so the wife is not down with that at all. lol Luckily it's on my way home from Millvile/Meadow Valley so I just stop on my way home and load up.

The riding here is pretty damn epic though, but I'm not down with the 6 month mandatory time off. 😆 We still have our house there, so probably be back in CA. full time this time next year.

I met a couple fellow riders up here through Ithinkitsbroke, and that's been nice. Jake is a solid dude and one of the reasons I love this board so much.

Usually $30-40 for a prepped track and $20-30 for a semi-prepped or unprepped track in my area.

Here in OH it’s $20-40 depending on the track. We’re lucky and can privately rent our local track at for $55 a rider and it’s maxed out at 40 riders for 6 hrs. Fully prepped & watered. Some days a mid day rewater or quick prep if needed too. I like those days the best. Low volume of people and no sessions. Plus it’s all of our buddies riding at once with a 25 min drive for me. It’s a win win!

If you don't mind me asking, what track are you referring to ?

Norcal is $50 across the board.  Plus $3-5 extra to process a credit card... Plus if you bring your wife so you have someone to drive if there is an emergency, each spectator is $10.  Family of three riding plus my wife just watching is basically $165 for a practice day.

It's a tough one.  I get they need to charge more.  But I probably spend less on a regular basis because I'm less likely to bring the whole family now.  So they get me at $50.  When at $35 they would get two or three riders.  I also think I huge problem is how many people don't pay.  They have their bikes in a van or trailer and lie about the number of riders.  Hangtown is pretty empty most weekends.  It's an amazing track with great prep.  But $50, for one track with no place for the little kids to ride.  Seems to keep the number of riders pretty low.

Curious why you guys want to leave ca? I’d really like to move out there in the next couple years to escape the New England winters and have access to more riding areas.

Hell, my son and I paid $25 each just to stand in the rain & watch at the KROC @ E-Town last weekend.

I'm pretty sure we pay $50/day at Breezewood. For what they offer it's totally worth it to us. Even with the 3 hour drive each way

Hubbard pretty much nailed it. Takes forever to go anywhere meaningful in distance, everything is crowded, and cost of housing is insane, although I'd say overall cost of living here in MN is on par with CA.

As far as riding, sure, there are a handful of tracks to ride in the SoCal area, but unless you are a dual sport guy, or really like the desert, it's not that great anymore. 30-40 years ago? It was the mecca of all mecca's.

I'm with you on the cold, we were only here for the last 3 months of it this year and that is cold I've never felt before, but oh boy, we all in this year. hahaha

Just think in the next 3 months it will be -30 with windchill at some point.  If you have never felt windchill just wait, you will hate it!

We call it "crispy" LOL. Embrace ice fishing, it's the silver lining... Or snowmobiling, if we ever get decent snow again.
