I agree they should help get the major teams bikes and riders there, but 105k is over the weekend, probably 45-50k actual people there.
You realise there’s also costs involved, not just pure profit?
I think they should help, or cover, basic costs for teams to come over. Bikes and parts shipment, and a set number of team support. Take in to account the cost to fly over vs close drive. As for riders..I actually don’t want riders paid. Why? If you watched the race, it wasn’t about that for the riders there. Are you going to pay “x” rider what he thinks he is worth…and then not pay the number 3 man from Team Mexico? It changes the spirit of the event that I just watched. Fuck that…If someone like Deegan doesn’t want to go because of that, then I’m okay with that. His choice. It pays for them if they succeed in fan$ and endorsements. If they want to bring a posse of 20 people…that’s on them. Try to keep a relatively level playing field for all teams and riders. That’s not something we worry about for Outdoors or MXGP because that is a business. This is something else….but yes..some of “that” money should go to teams to cover equal costs.
“major teams…” surely all teams?!

Hi Brian!!!! And fk no we ain't gonna allow cringe lord on the team in 2027. 😊
What is your solution?
How about InFront match what AMA pays for qualifying for a national? MX2 $440 MXGP $535.
Without full support of the manufacturers, MXdN will be pride fighting- not prize fighting.
This event should not be about money; no paying riders to turn up and no prize money, it’s about pride.
However I think InFront should subsidise team’s travel costs. A rate per kilometre to get there would be fair.
I’m in the let the federations handle it boat. Don’t see why the American Motorcyclist Association can’t pitch in a buck or two to get the best Americans to one race a year
I like this idea but it would mean that every race was is Europe as that would cost the promoter the least amount of money.
I think events like this - where it isn't purely a capitalistic profit bonanza - could pivot and riders could nominate a charitable cause for their "prize money" to go to. It could be to support medical research their family suffers from, road to recovery for injured riders, other charities near their home town. Then there is incentive for racers to come, good will from all involved, and people in need are supported.
Riders should get something out of risking injury and their next season. Any amount of pay for top riders won't match their usual bonuses for wins and championships.
Not about money to anyone but infront.
Unless they agree to donate all profits this is a stupid take.
You're an idiot if you think that 105k people were there.
105,000 is the sum total attendance over three days, so it's like the same 35k people being counted each day they attend.
I’m all for getting these riders money. They’re putting their careers on the line for this race. This isn’t soccer or running. One bad crash could legit ruin a season or even career and the likelihood of that happening is high.
They can easily figure out a way to get 3 guys money and bikes sent. It’s a shame we act like that’s a big deal.
This will muddy the waters but I wondered what the freestyle riders get paid and who pays them to go? haha assuming it's Monster..
What about the 65cc, 85cc and 125cc riders, should they get paid?
It's silly to think infront should make money off everyone's patriotism. While everyone else foots the bill.
Maybe we need a competitor to rise up, put on a competing mxdn, pay teams a base amount to show up and maybe even though throw in a cool million to the winning team? 🤷♀️
The BOTTOM-LINE:
The promoters charge and get PAID ridiculous amounts of money for this ONE RACE…The MXON.
It’s time they kicked down for the countries that compete by providing a legitimate amount for travel/lodging/per diem for the attending teams. In order to be fair, actual expense research would be required to cover fair amounts based on actual travel expenses.
Example: it’s a helluva lot more expensive to travel to France from places like Oz & NZ than it is from the United States or Canada.
It’s time for this to happen.
The MXdN has been held for many, many decades.
And, it's Always been a massive race. Just go search various pictures of the event over so many decades.
So, Profits have always been made.
And, I daresay, a few decades ago, the profit percentage has been Much higher for the promoters.
The presentation / 'build' of the event, is vastly different over time.
Do Not take This / That for my defending Luongo, , Infront and the various companies that Luongo has had / been in cahoots with, since 1986.
I despise Him, and his Son.
Oh, as far as I know, there is some 'prize' money still for the event - but it's but a few K in Swiss Francs (?). So, pretty much nothing.
I'd certainly like to see a more 'substantial' Prize fund for the place getters. But, that would take Luongo and Infront, directing some of their 'Monster' ( and other event sponsors) money, away from their pockets / bank accounts. But, That's Not likely to happen.........
It's Always factions of the US 'side' that demands Money to attend. And, most notably, recently coming from a Rider / his supporters, that has, just prior to the race, through SMX, made Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars, from the Sport( and, he has done for a few years now) - not even including what he / they ( other top riders) make during the 2 other 'regular ' seasons.
That the 'Give Me / Us Money Or I / We Won't Attend, " coming from what most of us see as an Incredibly Patriotic Country, is just astounding.
Hey, If a Rider doesn't want to go - fair enough. I had no problem with the Hunters not going this year - bummed, yes - as they've gone for , at least, the last 3 years. And, they announced it early. But a rider / riders couching it in that they , perhaps would go , if paid / shown favoritism ( and that goes for Countries Teams) well, GFY.
I had JT on in the background the other day on a podcast - I miss most of them, as I'm doing things, and, when I'm doing things, my inner monologue drowns out most everything.
But, I think I heard him saying Deegan shouldn't go ( or even the entire US Team ) next year to Assen, because " He / They Couldn't Win ", well that was just appalling. A Sand Track - big effing deal - It's also a 'pop Up Track' something US based riders are so, so used to, what with SX, and now the SMX races. I really hope I misheard, as it seemed so pathetic a 'take' on it from JT.
The US Team did Very Well. Beaumer going straight onto a 450, Kitchen's first ride out of the USA - heck, I think I heard him say he'd only been to Mexico before - how on earth do you Not travel, especially with the money he's made from the sport? I guess some people are just not Travelers? With Julien Beaumers' Dad being French, and his Grand Parents in Normandy, I assume he's been to Europe, previously, at least for a family visit.
And Cooper Webb? - FanBloodyTastic !
He's seemed to Always step up when called upon, and, he rode an unfamiliar bike ( though, he's been on a KTM Group bike before, so it's Not a 'base' he has no idea about ) that he / his team seemed to have Very Well sorted - I saw he / it performing superbly on that Most Demanding of Tracks, with that level of Motocross Racers to deal with.
About the only thing I was disappointed with from him, was his bringing out the " We've got Targets On Our Backs", with reference to Forato and Kitchen. Kitchen goes wide, leaving an opening,? : well, Forato / Anyone, is going to take that opening! I chuckled at the comment by Lewis Phillip's that Forato didn't even know they'd hit. Well, as Forato's a bit of a Man Mountain, I could see that. especially as it was just contact - it's said - to Kitchens front wheel. And, at least one US spectator on this thread, has said he saw it, and it was just a typical racing incident. But, people seem to want to glom onto the "victim of dastardly deeds' crap.
Last Moto, I was both barracking for Spain to get their 1st MXdN win, And, for the Win to go to Belgium - one of the Greatest ( and Tiniest!) Motocross Countries there has ever been. Conflicted, does Not adequately describe it. At least Spain got their 1st Podium.
And Herlings, was just relentless - a bit bloody Frightening, actually - as he is, so often. I thought what I call, an "Airline Disaster Prang' was on the cards after his fall in the last moto, and, it appeared that he was he prepared to go Through Prado, if needed.
As always, a Fantastic event, to end the year on !

As others have said, if team Latvia can raise 60k to go race the nations across the pond, surely team America can do the same? How can it be such a difficult task for one of, if not the, largest federation in the world?
Thanks to all riders from all nations that stepped up we got another incredible weekend of racing.
As Cooper Webb and others demonstrated, if there's a will, there's a way.
Funny you mention that - Yamaha awards the winner of the 125 race with a factory ride to the EMX125 championship for '27.
Yet Yamaha USA won't even send their riders, let alone offer any type of reward!
Compare that to the factory win bonus of a 450SX main!
“They made damn near £10m”
Tell us you know nothing about business without telling us you know nothing about business..
Maybe those that are complaining that promoters are making “obscene profits” should try to promote a big race like that! The promoters are the ones providing and risking all of the capital (money) to put on the race/event and they should be the ones to make the profit after the event… paying for the facility, equipment, all labor, fuel, water, rentals for barricades, structures, seating, sound system, toilets, ticket scanners, banners, print materials like fliers and programs, and i’m sure i’m leaving a metric ton of other stuff because i’ve never tried to promote an event. In the end they SHOULD make a profit because what is their incentive to ever put on another event if they don’t make a profit… and who are you to decide what is “too much profit” … i’m sure you would want to go into business to make just enough money so you can be comfortable, right? 🙄🤦♂️
Agree, but I think it's a business decision between promotors and factories.
Why would InFront pay to have the best from AMA Pro Motocross? Why would Feld & MX Sports want factories supporting competing shows when they can barely get any riders to last their 31-race season?
Without the manufacturers' support, the show suffers.
Would the promoters and the crew putting on this event work for free and do it just for Pride? Most likely not. I imagine they would refuse to work for free.
Remember, back in the day, it was possible for top riders, like David Bailey, to show up at the MXoN, in a Transit van, 'cause in reality, that's all you need. These days, they have to bring their posee, hair stylist, speech therapist, dog trainer... and someone to pass them their toxic drink on the podium. 18 wheelers, just to move a few little motorcycles around? They choose to make things cost so much more than they need, they cannot complain. The Olympics doesn't pay, it's an honor to represent your country. Little boy Deegan would have his ass handed to him on a plate in Europe, so best to stay home looking at himself in the mirror.
So Mitch and Kawi found the money to send Levi.
Tedder/RMATV?/Husky found the money to send Coop.
KTM found a way to send Beaumer.
The Euros seem to find their way here every couple years.
Is this pissing and moaning because Corporal America didn't get paid to go?
Us Boomers believe if there's a will there's a way.
This is so hilariously hypocritical.
So the promotors (who only make the money because of the guys racing) deserve to make profit. They put a lot of work in for that race and should make money (I agree). You know who else put a looooooot of work in to be eligible to race that race? You know, the guys risking their entire next season should a crash go down. The guys who are also doing their much harder job with infinitely more risk go home with nada while the promoters taking little to no risk go home with profits.
The promoters want us to believe these riders should do it for pride, but are they doing it for the same reason? I bet there’s a solid group that made a lot of money off that race after costs.
How are people claiming the highest paid riders should be paid to represent their countries? This is absurd, and even more absurd is not being patriotic enough to go. Can´t win? Won´t go next year. What an absolute shite attitude. Who hasn´t done plenty of free work, overtime and not gotten paid for it? I would assume most of us, but these teenagers - full of energy and pockets full of money - can´t?
Whoever said InFront should pay teams to go - great! Next year we can see Team Zimbabwe, Team Congo and Team Bangladesh rub arms with the best (but not some US riders, because the millions they earned wasn´t even enough to bother representing their country)
Big Kudos to Kitchen, Webb and Beaumer, well done, and well represented!
Regardless of the amount of profit, they are far from making a loss. If it wasn’t profitable they wouldn’t be doing it. It’s not just MXoN, MXGP is a business for the Luongos nothing else. Most decisions are made based on the bottom line and how to make more money. Which although very important, IMO is wrong for a sport, as a promoter you have a responsibility do the right thing for the athletes and the future of the sport, especially one as dangerous as this.
I really think they’re should be a prize fund for MXoN but not for the riders, for the federation. This then can help the grass roots in each individual country
There are 125 member countries in the FIM, only 32 turned up for this years MXoN, imagine if they all turned up!
