Well, that sucks. It seems lately the US gate picks have been crappy from the lottery pick or however they do it, like Bingo?! 😂.

I can't remember a good one recently maybe Budds Creek? 19 years ago!!!! 😲

That shit has to be rigged; there is no way we consistently get such shitty picks and teams like Morocco get great ones every year.

Gatepick 23... 😭 Hello B-final my old friend...

At least you're there. My federation (PL) can't even get their shit together to send a team! I'll be at Petrovice u Karviné this weekend racing and rooting for the Czech team at MXdN (and team USA).

I was about to say, our gate picks have been shit for years

Is there any other top 5 country that consistently gets horrible gate picks like we do? A few times is understandable, but how consistent it is for us is starting to seem fishy.

not a top 5 country this year without simon, ken and nagl but in the past years, germany got fucked pretty hard. Now that we have a C team, we have a decent gatepick 😄But oh well def not a reason to not perform as this is not for sunday gatepicks.
I dont see whats fishy about it

I think they should go by previous years finish. Full lottery is kind of wild.

This is the dumbest part of the event.  People defend it every year.  But it's dumb for what is supposed to be the greatest event of the year.  It would be so easy to go off practice times for each individual class for sat qualifying gate picks.

That was more sarcasm than anything. It is comical how often it happens though

I agree it's dumb. All the lottery does is increase the chances that the fastest riders potentally won't meet. The more often a good rider is mired in the pack the more likely he'll collide with someone/get collided with etc in some stupid, otherwise avoidable incident. And then one of the few chances we'll ever get to see top riders who don't normally race together is ruined. Yes they can rectify it on Saturday but why increase the odds of ruining part of what we all want to see... OK, rant over.

Ah, stop whining. Its fantastic for riders from the lesser nations to have a chance to run nearer the front for a while.

The top teams will always do well enough on Saturday to get reasonable gates on Sunday when it gets super-serious.

I disagree. It makes absolutely no sense. Just go off of qualifying like everything else. A team can either have an advantage, or not, simply from a lottery? That's not sport. Sure, there are instances like American football where initial possession is determined by a coin flip, but, the other team get's the same advantage after halftime. Drawing gate picks from a lottery in what is supposed to be the the biggest motocross race of the year, is just wrong. Why switch how things are done from every other professional motocross race?

We used to pick popsicle sticks for moto 1 gate pick. Sure ot wasn't MXDN, but the practice has been around a long time.

Lots of sarcasm out there.  I don’t think anyone thinks it’s literally rigged…

I’d suggest they do the ball draw, like they do.  Your draw is your gate for MXGP qualifier.   Then go reversed order for MX2.  So if you drew 10, you pick 10th on MXGP and this year there are 32 teams so you would pick 22 for MX2.  Then open class would be your pick plus 50% of the field.  So it would be 10 +16, you’d be 26.  So there would still be some built in small advantages, but not like 3rd pick for all 3 qualifiers.

It’s only the gate pick for the qualifying races not the motos

Which is a shortened race where gate pick matter even more.  And every rider for the team gets the same gate pick in their race.  They don't draw each class.

They should just use the 250 practice for 250 gate pick. 450 practice for 450 gate pick and open form open.

This is how the FIM. Does it. The AMA has their way of doing.i don’t think we have heard prado, Vialle, or any other European that has entered a AMA event complain about how gate picks are decided.

The reason both sanctions have different ways of running their organizations is because each of them don’t like specific actions in the other organization.Anyone here think if the AMA told the FIM to change the gate pick routine , the FIM would listen  or visa versa?

Fuck no!

Get over it ! That’s what makes each of them  different.

Or like chopper the comedy guy always said……….HARDEN THE FUCK UP
