Why you would try to bulk up on the last week of the season is baffling. That's what the off-season is for. Smells like BS.

Why? Because the body isn’t capable of building that amount of muscle mass in two weeks, even with wheel barrels of assistance. Over to you JT!

If Haiden weighed around 500lbs then I would maybe consider it possible.

Take an elite athlete, at his age - and let's say he was not taking creatine, not prioritizing recovery, under on protein, and doing no heavy compounds, so from a muscle growth standpoint was "untrained."

Reverse all those and a week or two could add "7lbs" of what appears to be lean tissue on the scale. It's mostly just water moved around, it's never going to happen again - save for a period off from training then coming back, but it's possible to misunderstand it and parrot it to the media.

That would be adding size by filling with glycogen and water. That isn’t adding muscle. In the absolute perfect world, the most elite athletes in the world can only naturally add about 2lbs of muscle gain per month.

I love when you hear an actor say they put on 40lbs of muscle for a role. No you didnt

At this rate he'll be 50lbs heavier by A1, someone should let his suspension guy know.

I laughed at that one too. Impossible to put 7lbs of muscle on in two week, no matter how much gear you're on!

As soon as she said that I paused the broadcast to ask my girl if she heard it, we both immediately started cracking up.

He was on a strict meal plan - consisted of Dianabowls of Winstrolled Oats, followed by Chicken Anavarmesan for lunch and a light dessert of Decaramel pudding.

Other sources indicate that they gained 15 hp by switching to Shell Rotella T.

He's just trying to say he gained 7lbs of muscle and does elite MMA training to convince people he's some kind of hardened killer.

Said out loud to my wife when I heard that how fucking outrageous that is, its embarrassing that she would even mention it on the broadcast of a professional sport.

So far beyond what is physiologically possible especially for someone with a frame like his that weighs 140lbs, just absolutely ridiculous.

That was my first thought that it's absolutely embarrassing that a reporter for a professional series would be so ignorant to report such a thing a simple 30 second Google search would have explained that it's not possible🤷‍♂️

If you haven't seen an untrained (in the strength training world) early 20s, motivated trainee put on 5-7 scale lbs in two weeks when they start Creatine, heavy lifting, and prioritized recovery, I don't know what to tell you, but it's quite common. Note I said scale lbs - of course it's not full on lean tissue backed by a DEXA.

If you lift heavy, take 6 months off for injury, surgery, etc, then let me know what happens the first two weeks back - if it's only 1lb, part of your program is off.

They are skewering you on here with the down votes, but I took your point.

I have a 20something son (student, not athlete) that works out inconsistently.

Gets busy, no workout for weeks, then starts the creatine and work out for two weeks hard and literally explodes with upper body muscles (or appears to).  I am sure its not lean muscle, but it appears to be.

Point taken.

You two are crazy. Nobody is putting on 7 pounds of muscle in a week no matter what stack they are taking. I doubt they would even put on 7 pounds of weight, and if they did it would be mostly glycogen and fluid accumulation because muscle growth wouldn’t start in two weeks time.
Even if a guy who has been working out a few month and was building protein, still wouldn’t happen.
