This is the way. Tomac is coming back around, he looked great in Moto 1 this past weekend, running P3 and finishing P4. He will be ready by then. He did his job last year and he’s got the highest ceiling. Apparently Jcoop isn’t 100% right now and they are still needing to determine why. If Haiden doesn’t represent Team USA yet again this year, I don’t want to see another American flag draped around his back on the podium for a while. Just go. Tell everyone you’re going and your team will follow suit. Just go, finally.

Forget it Deegs ain't going (again).

He has no desire to go all the way to France to be smoke by a bunch of Euros.  Instead, he'll just watch the race at home and wave that big American flag in his living room.

Father time has caught up to Tomac. Make it exciting if you are going. Deegan , Hymas and Levi on a 450. Yes Shimoda rode one last year and killed it

It's a perfect time for a changing of the guard and this would be it. The riders have too much pessimism around MXdN a good attitude about trying your best on the worlds stage goes just as far as a good result.

Hymas and Marchbanks on 450, Kitchen on 250 from the sounds of it.

The guy who opened 2026 Supercross with back to back wins? The guy who was winning races this year and held the red plate? No Sir. That has not yet happened. A professional athlete does not ‘loose it’ in 4-6 months time. Injury is what has him building back up this summer. ET3 is at 90% right now. ET3 at 100% is still capable of winning.

If Justin Cooper isn’t healthy and needs blood work to determine what is required to get him healthy, I would much prefer we send Tomac. Eli showed my in moto 1 this weekend that the pace outdoors is there. Give him another 6 weeks of riding and testing and he will be able to run podium speed again for two 30s.

LoL...Won't be going to France so yeah, hopefully I'll be able to watch it on TV.

Sounds like you plan on racing with the team in France?

Not sure what kind of one-upmanship you think that comment was...but it fell pretty flat, even for a bedbug like you 🤡

I totally disagree with the opinion "father time won with regards to ET3"

Some people do not instantly return to 100% precrash speed after a significant injury! If Kroc took to heart what the keyboard warriors were saying he would have retired and not extended his final HRC racing Contract and won his 1st AMA Supercross title at age 32.

Who else besides DNGR has the speed and upside that Tomac can potentially unleash? I love RJ but his ceiling is much lower. AP has the heart of a champion but he's just coming back and showing signs of life

I'm looking forward to seeing what ET3 brings to the race next Saturday at Ironman

Marchbanks or RJ might be a better choice than Tomac right now.

RJ is not going. Marchbanks can't get a top 10 start consistently. Same with Levi. Tomac isn't much better tbh.

Hymas, Beaumer. Hell, even Barcia. He put in the same lap times as Deegs and is on the move fwd. It's hard packed so Duc is good

Every time single time Eli has represented USA he’s been the best rider of the three we send. I wouldn’t except that to be any different this year. Dude is a gamer, 2024 after only riding 2-3 outdoors he goes 2-3. If I was picking our team he’d be my first choice.

The guy who is getting smoked outdoors. He'll put Cooper Webb on a 450 as well.

If Deegan and Team Yamaha are too sad to go, let them stay home. It’s next man up, I’ll support whoever sacks up and I’ll buy their merchandise.

I totally get and understand what Rich Simmons is saying.

Also remember the Euro is worth considerably more than our Dollar -  so 25K USD is only  roughly 21K €, so most everything on the trip costs more.

Fuel is roughly 8-9 dollars a gallon there as well RN. I travel in the EU a fair amount and the costs are just insane as compared from last year.

Setting up one rider like Deegan, even if he doesn't get paid, takes hours on the Dyno, fuel and sound testing, crating, shipping two bikes, hotels, renting stuff from Kemea  like vans and buying race fuel.

Add in hotels in France and food, and Deegs probably wants someone to pay for his family and crew to fly Business I'm sure, airfare is 7-10K for a RT ticket for Business Class on Delta or American or KLM.

In addition Deegs and other team riders have to buy special supplemental medical insurance policies because his Blue Cross PPO or whatever he has won't work in a French hospital.

The promoter InFront is the one who benefits from the USA versus the world thing, so Dan Loungo should be footing this fucking bill to get Team USA to France.

IMO the USA team should make it conditional that InFront chip at least 100K to get us over there, or else The AMA should tell them to fuck all the way off.

Down vote if you want but I'm right.

Is KTM going to save the day for Team USA. Tomac, AP and Julian?

Father time might be an issue, but more so in respect of the length of the recovery time than Eli's outright pace capability. IMO.

In saying that, I don't see him beating the Lawrences anytime soon, at least consistently. Everyone else is fair game though.

Pretty sad only KTM and Honda support this event. I hope Yamaha gets as much flack as Kawi gets for not supporting the event anymore

Why should the US have their bills paid? They're not even that big a deal anymore. This is not the 80s Matthes...

Agreed, I don't see the father time bit at all.

He looks to me as though he is happy at 90-95%. Keeps his race fitness very near the level needed and builds a good base for 2027. There is absolutely no need to prove anything by going balls out to maybe gain a position in the overall standings.

I do believe if he pushed to his capability, he would be around Deegan and Prado and if that fire lit inside they would have a fair bit of trouble keeping him behind.

I think the Lawrences, Coehen, Herlings are currently on a different level.

The US factory teams are funded by the US advertising budget, KTM Europe and Honda Japan's head office see the global advertising benefit, Yamaha and Kawasaki don't.

Maybe the promoters (the guys making all the money off the event) could foot the bill for the riders that are putting on the show?

I mean, if an event promoter hosts a music festival do they expect all the best bands to show up just because it's the bands duty to put on a show?  And the event promoter keeps all the money?    Or do they have to pay the bands?

Because Deegan.

That’s all I hear about from the locals when they find out I’m an American.

If he goes that place won’t have one square inch to spare, and the French are already crazy devoted maniac fans as it is.

Maybe I’m just biased as a big Tomac fan but I think he’s earned the right to go if he wants to and thinks he can be competitive. Other than the Kawi years when they wouldn’t let him he’s always gone when asked, including two years ago when it was like two weeks notice and he’s always given it his best effort. That gives him another month and some change on the bike so I think he’ll be fine by then and he probably has the highest ceiling outside of Deegan. Besides this is almost certainly his last chance to go and it’d be a cool way to end his motocross career.

Absolutely right, we benefit zero for this race anymore. The promoter's family is the only one that benefits. I have loved watching MXDN since I got into the sport in '91 but it's been awhile since I gave a shit.

Is that because team USA is not winning?
