Complaint about Loretta’s coverage

I’m with you.  I hope people refuse to pay and viewership is low.

That being said Burkeen is covering a lot of motos on YouTube and uploading pretty quick 

This is a big FU to the fans, riders, riders families, sponsors and event sponsors. Last year RacerTV avg 200,000 daily views. The viewers were the core fans and riders that buy and support the sponsor’s products and services. No chance Flo will have that same demographic viewer, let alone that many views. Classic case of the mouth biting the hand that feeds it.

I've been to Lorettas every year since 98. I couldn't go this year due to work. I didn't pay to watch either. I knew from the fiasco with outdoors a few years ago the coverage would probably be garbage. 

And not to mention the fact you shut down pro racing for amateur racing for 2 weekends is mind blowing, can you imagine F1 shutting down for karting because they are incapable of running both at the same time… it’s nonsense. 

YEAH!! Everything should be free! Well,,, you know,, except the stuff that "I" do for a living... Commies everywhere you look these days.

Ive heard if you have Amazon Prime you're able to watch it there for free with your subscription. Just word on the street, I haven't checked myself.

It’s a money grab event now. Nothing to do with helping to groom the riders for future success.  We need a legitimate amateur program akin to the emx series in Europe.  You can’t even piss at the event without them wanting you to pay for it. 

The coverage is good so far. Same as Racer TV last year. I don't like paying, but it is what it is. I can watch at work and my son can watch at home.

Might want to find a better analogy, because right now both F1 and MotoGP are on summer break for an entire month.

If a Karting World Amatuer program was run by Liberty Media you can be darn sure it would be taking place right now, and you would be paying to watch it just the same.

Yeah, becaus you KNOW that Euro amateur program is free to all the families that want to participate....

All this "lets grow the sport, rah rah rah!" and now we have to pay to watch amateur racing.👍

Just checked this... Their app is shown as free on Amazon Prime. But the reviews on Amazon Prime state that a monthly or yearly subscription fee is charged plus several reviews on poor quality issues.  No free lunch...

Burkeen does a fabulous job and I'm thankful for all the content he puts out. With this new Flo arrangement, however, it makes me wonder how long that will be able to last at this event until they have a "problem" with his content being pubished on their grounds? Hopefully it won't be an issue.

Nothing is free, but there’s a big difference between a program designed to help amateurs grow and flourish as they move to the pros, and one that is more interested in lining their pockets. 

I had to search for "Loretta Lynn" on prime and found this. I also found the stream for yesterday and you can't re-watch it, states that the event ended. I guess we'll see in a few hours.

So weird.. but some people are waking up a bit... seeing that's its wrong to make all that money off the backs of amateur kids, while screwing everybody else.... kinda amazing really... 

Now if we can have a few wood chipper parties with the epstein class we might actually be real men again... 

IF they shut him down, to me that will just confirm what this Flo thing was all about.

FLO has taken over Pro-BMX too. We have to pay to watch the races, or wait 3 days to watch on YouTube. The live broadcast is OK 50% of the time. Lots of technical problems, microphones not working, cameras focused on the wrong things, graphics all kinds of f'd up (wrong moto, introducing the wrong rider, rider info incorrect, etc). 

FLO came in promising increased viewer audience, rider payouts and more sponsors. Rider payout barely increased and I'm pretty sure the only sponsor that came on was G-Shock, and that was when the FLO deal was announced...nothing since. 

On the other hand, I saw Monster took over the broadcast for US Downhill MTB series. I don't know really anything about that deal, but I watched on YouTube a while back, and that broadcast was night and day better that what FLO was doing.

To be fair, the “who’s who” of the industry can’t be in 2 places at the same time. Additionally, I’d venture to guess that outdoor moto is more taxing on the riders than F1 is on the drivers. 

Giving those riders (who are technically corporate assets) a break is a good way to protect their investments and ensure greater longevity for those investments. 

Knew they switched up on us this year when I went to Hangtown and there was almost a 100% increase in ticket pricing. Last year was $40 GA plus $20 for pit pass. This year, $75 GA plus $25 for pit pass. 
$200 for me and the wife to have to haul in chairs, coolers, shade, and cook in the heat all day while trying to see a small portion of the track behind all the EZ ups. Only reason I paid is cause I already had driven all the way there. Next year they can pound sand. 

$100 bucks for a Supercross at a place with decent infrastructure and cost to operate okay…. But that pricing for outdoors is straight robbery. It’s no coincidence that they’re now charging to watch Loretta’s as well. They’re greedy, and they’re squeezing everything they can from the core fans of the sport because they know how much we love it. At the same time, I don’t see any of those profits being poured back into growing the sport and bringing in new fans. 

They’d rather just get every last drop out of the current fanbase, a lot easier that way…..

Best indicator that he's not making "all that money": NOBODY, not VC,PE well healed industry insiders, Vital membership or you has/is funding a competing series or buying MXS out. If you're convinced he's making tons of money then you ought to be writing a business plan and vetting it funding sources.  Trillions in coffers....zero with interest. Hmmm.

Quite the entitled bunch. I don't think MX Sports or anyone else in the business needs bear the expense of providing you free entertainment.

It is still the number one amateur event, butLoretta’s has already lost a lot of its appeal too many racers and fans.

Then making a day pay to watch service maybe the start of the end for Loretta‘s. If the core moto fans are not watching it and talking about it, I would it hurt hurts the event long-term

This isnt a dirtbike race. 

It's a summer vacation for a little group of dickheads who've been gatekeeping the sport for 40 years. 

Letting people race their dirtbikes just funds the vacation.  My favorite are the "regional championships" aka "we want your money, we just don't want you at the ranch in August." 

So the coverage is the same as last year with no improvements and you are happy to pay $40 for it? I could see if they were getting actual production with real announcers but to just roll out the same thing as last year and charge for it is crazy in my eyes

What’s ironic is thinking monetizing everything and pricing everyone out of things they enjoy and support is somehow extremely American hahaha 

Matty B is a treasure and I would give him $40 before I’d give it to Aunt Flo!!

It's easy to do, there's a link on his Youtube to become a supporter, I think I pay like $5 a month and it's worth every penny and then some 

RedBullTV did a wonderful job with UCI MTB Downhill for a long time. Coverage was 'free', then UCI sold rights to Discovery, without asking Redbulltv to match Discovery's bid. The quality and production has reportedly gone downhill (no pun intended!). point is, the money men don't necessarily bring better quality coverage.
