True but the American team that got the ball rolling back in 81 was considered a B team . The 3 national champs in 81 were Glover ( 500 ) , Howerton ( 250 ) and Barnett ( 125 ) and for whatever reason they didn't go . If there were internet forums back then they probably would have got roasted lol .

How many of the best top athletes in their own country and their particular sport actually have to pay out of their own pocket to attend and enter an event that wouldn't exist without people like them? Just curious because when I think of other sports i don't see it. The riders lose money even if they win. Meanwhile there is crazy amounts of revenue being generated at the event. I wonder how much the athletes on Spains world cup team spent out of their own pockets to go to the world cup? And I'm sure they didn't make any...

I haven’t personally talked to the Lawrence family so I can only accept what they say which is Jett didn’t let him win. But I got to thinking which is dangerous. It is funny all the people complaining that Jett let Hunter win because if you think about it. That if that were true that tells you just how much better the Lawrence’s are on the track then the entire rest of the field. That says they can make the outcome what they want.

Jett had all the cover story in the world he needed to NOT line up for second moto, because by doing that, Jett "risked winning" the Championship. If that is your delusional view. Jett finished ahead of Hunter in last moto. Hunter going down, bike going south and there is nothing Jett can do about it. Daniel has a strong hint of click bait in him. I very much like the Blair Matthes project and his work on WSX but have drifted away from Main Event Moto. Daniel is tough to listen on that show because he puts so much inflection into his voice.

In the interests of keeping the debate civil, I understand that but respectfully disagree. I feel he only put in those thinly veiled defences just to justify his opinion that the fix was in and it "was a tough one to record" . Imagine Jett and Hunter's family watching this and having this guy who has some respectability within the industry, call your sons cheaters.

I've stayed out of the debates and comments from the past weekend, aside from a few upvotes and down votes. It's been tiresome. But I feel Daniel Blair has crossed the line. He's gone from a well thought out, respectful, thorough analyst over the past few years to in the last 12 months, Cooksey 2.0 . Absolute trash. I haven't watched most of his videos this past season because it just became clickbait bs and stupid takes and claims. Now he's claiming the Lawrence brothers have fixed the outcome and Hunter's championship will forever have an asterisk next to it...
