Losing Lucas (thanks Renaux…) has crushed the racing. Would have been great to see if Lucas could have given Jeffrey some challenge.

Always had Renaux in mind as the next big champ, but he is really struggling with all kind of things. Hope he gets it together next year...

Hats off to the bullit and de Wolf #aintmuchifitaintdutch

Surely Herlings can't be that hard on his bikes that one of the best race teams in the world with near unlimited resources can't build him a bike that can survive 35 minutes of riding?

agree,it is strange,a fully custom bike, and the clutch is not sooo hard detail to fix the problem, make it bigger or change materials, even engine case can be custom on factory bike, so i dont believe hrc have a problem with clutch so unsolvable. May be its something more then just mechanical part of it.

Back in his MX2 days, they didn’t get along especially after he broke his leg at one of Everts charity events.

Where did Everts said this?

Just rumours I heard back in the day. Herlings didn’t wanna ride but Everts twisted his arm & the rest is history.

Did he twist his arm to go balls out and break his femur aswell? There's only one guy who twisted the throttle and cased it, and his name was Herlings.

I assume HRC is using the new clutch that will be on the '27. It has a built in slipper-like function. Maybe finding the weak point?

Herlings is pissed that the Honda very nearly let him down again.

KYB forks (internals at least) have been put on KTMs, can Honda sneak a KTM clutch on JH’s Honda? 🤣🤣🤣

No he didn’t but it’s like saying to a former alcoholic “just have one drink, it’ll be fine”. Going balls out was like an addiction to Herlings.

Thought that was weird aswell. Also never thought Herlings was someone lacking confidence like he said? Like that dude called himself the fastest man on the planet more than once. Also you don't come back from every single injury to winning speed like he did and you don't dominate the field by a minute by lacking confidence. Maybe he meant the beginning of his career, idk. Don't think he meant it in a bad way, probably just bad wording

Seemed unprofessional of Everts.

I think they have cooling problems in general. Probably to little oil flow or volume due to new engine size. Not a super easy fix being in the middle of racing season with Championship on the line.

Every change needs to be guaranteed "Bullet proof" (😂) for 35+min in deep sand.

Everts is as bad on air as he was great on a bike. Great MX 101 comments, beware, RC.

And cheap shots at Herlings after so many years was kinda lame, really... Wanna talk about your son's mental weakness, Stefan?

There is a reason Everts doesnt really have a place in the paddock any more, and today probably showed why.

Awesome rider, one of, or possibly the best ever, but not a people person .

Well that was a typical Lommel GP, guys who can ride well there are just a different level.

McClellan showed the form he had early on in the year, and he isnt cutting his team mate any slack, if he could buy a start, he could still be a threat for the championship if Farres has a slip up.  Coenen is out of it now, his mind is on SX already , very Impressed with Langenfelder, he seems to have recovered from his illness and is back on form

JH did what everyone expected, and made everyone else look daft, the rest of them had a good race, gutted for Febvre, not heard what the issue was but first though went to split tank the same as Davies.

Ben Watson was great coming from way back for 7th overall, but i will say that there are riders missing as i said for Geerts, in another thread but i think even with a fit grid , he is still top 10 in both races.

And props to Billy Askew, first EMX win and podium, turned his season round a lot, as it hadnt been great up till then, apart from flashes, but that is as good as i have seen him.

Yes - and, if I recall correctly, he was on a Minicycle, trying to beat Kids ( as well as some other GP riders on Minicycles) .

It was a Charity Race, that many other GP riders would do, and most would treat it as Fun, and a Worthy thing to do.

There was a lot of entertainment and laughs to be had - I remember the Works Honda riders - I think DeSalle was one an the other the Portuguese rider ( sorry, I've gone blank on his name - Rodrigues, perhaps?) having a personal, fun battle between each other, while leaving the Youngsters to actually race.

But, JH's broken leg : Self Induced Injury, through not being able, it seemed, to back it down, and treat it as Fun.

Everts and Herlings clashed - I remember a Brit MX / Dirt Bike Mag with the article header in an Everts interview with something like " He's A Bastard / Prick ", or words to that effect. They didn't get along - an Elder Statesman, with 10 World Championships, and a (then) youngster, full of himself, his acheivements up til then, and his Own Plans and Desires.

Both, being very bull headed and determined.

Thus - Butting Heads.

And, fair enough to both of them. I daresay they'd still do so.

Herlings has changed, Very Notably - as we all do, as we 'grow up / older'. Seems a far nicer bloke nowadays, but, I'd expect he'd tear your head off if you crossed him ( like most of us that are strong willed - or, arseholes 😁 ) .  I'd like to be a fly on the wall in the pits after his Clutch issue in that 2nd Moto.

Largely seconded, from similar thoughts whilst watching (and listening.)

Also similar, McGrath took umbrage when Jett said he was shooting for the record.

A bit of pique from legends, when prompted, ultimately, doesn't bother me any. Seems natural enough.

Even when the racing is a runaway like Herlings, it’s so impressive seeing how fast those guys can go in those treacherous conditions.
Shame De Wolf still isn’t 100% to offer more of a challenge in the sand, but the master still rules.
MX2 was great racing as always and Stefan was um, interesting, in the booth.

Yes - but there was plenty of 'racing' shown among the others, to.

Me - I can watch and enjoy a race, to see the lines, the way a bike works, the way the riders deal with 'things', explore different lines, have 'moments' that they deal with, successfully or unsuccessfully.

I'm Never bored by racing - I think a casual viewer might have that reaction, or, someone wanting to slag a series, or riders, but to anyone Really into racing, there's always something to watch / be impressed with.

Our sport is So Bloody Dynamic, compared to the vast majority of sports out there - there is Always something happening.

Especially at a Torture Chamber like Lommel !

Spot on Bear.

Now I’d really be interested on what’s going on with Jeffery’s Honda; not from a gossip perspective, but from an engineering/ mechanical one. It’s unbelievable just how much stress some riders can put on bits that you think should be bulletproof (pun intended).
