Not saying they all would, but if they all showed up with 6 months of training, an awful lot of privateers should and would be very nervous about making it In lol

Considering the 450 class isn't very deep at the moment, I think there's lot's of "Old Pro's" who could make Mains.

Some of the older guys could maybe get top 10 percentile lap times but the difference is they can't do it consistently for 35+

Cairoli showed recently what's possible even into your 40s if you were an all timer and never truly stopped riding.

Give him an off-season and RC still scores points outdoors in his mid-late 40s. He actually made it through his career relatively injury free, so he's probably less beat up than a lot of the guys in their late 30s

I'm not sure they class as old, but almost all the outdoor champs post-2009 could easily make the motos still imo, especially if they actually took a few weeks to train ahead of trying

I would guess any former elite guy who still works as a test rider or rides a lot like canard, zach-o, Millsaps, Pourcel, or Tickle could still get in easily 

I think it begins to get less certain when you start looking at people in their late 40s or those who weren't race/championship winning level in their prime. 

I think once you get to names like Emig, Wey, you're asking a lot just due to age

Andrew Short might be the oldest guy I think of who wasn't an outdoor champion but still rides enough that they could get in and race competitively rather than struggling to even finish. Tedesco might still be able to lay a lap down given his work with triumph?

Honestly there are a probably a LOT. You only need to be able to go fast for one lap to make it straight in. Whether any of them could finish or get anywhere closer to the top 30 would be another question entirely 

Old guys who could still score points? That list gets much smaller

450 class is woeful right now. 

Ryan Hughes maybe ? Doug Dubach ? I agree the 450 class is at a low right now .

We're only missing two guys on the gate who have a chance at a podium, Sexton and J-Coop. The top 2-4 are just that much better that they make the class look woeful.

Lusk, Nicoletti, Osborne, Weimer, Short, etc are all racing Loretta's next week.  So we'll get some indication of their current speed.   

It's a long stretch to expect Pros that are now 50+ to still have the 1-lap blistering speed needed to qualify for a National.  

Zach Williams qualified through the lcq and he has been around forever, this is his 14th season with no cushy ride to help him along.

Maybe Mike Brown. 

Broc Hepler? I feel like current test guys are too obvious like yeah of course Canard/Tickle could do ok haha

The thing is, Brownie is the one who would give it a go.  

I think brown and Dowd could show up and make a main.

James looks healthy and good still. And I’m pretty sure he rides for fun during the week still. I would bet he gets a 20-30 place finish.

Bagget just won an endurance team race at Glen Helen last weekend on his street legal KTM.

I know we haven’t seen James ride in a long time but I’d bet that he could still easily make the show and that he’d be better than he was in 2016.

Who is the absolute oldest that could still qualify on a good day? Lorusso made it at 52 right? Brown is 54. Anyone late 50s or [gulp] 60 and still on pace? Surely not, right? Dubach or Nicoll?

Most of them under 50 could atleast qualify with minimal effort. They simply dont forget how. They may not have the top level endurance but a 1 lap heater to make the fast 40 wouldn't be too hard for most. 

The ones still in shape could score points.
