Took a while to finally hear what Jett says with those stupid airhorns but he says "*something* my fucking foot man"

I can't imagine, with his practice crash, that the soft, deep track didn't hurt it.

I think you're allowed to be frustrated with an injury, especially if he re-hurt it.

Hunter obviously you're gonna be pissed you rode that race to just slide out

I agree with your take.  I bet he tweaked his ankle sometime during that first moto.

Yeah, I agree as well.  He was upset with his riding due to his foot.

@matze my guess is his team allowed hom to defer blame to take the spotlight off his foot.  The Lawrence camp has always been pretty forthright,  but they can only expose themselves so much...

But, hey, my bad. I’m pretty sure we’re not supposed to see any positives in one of these angry threads. 🤣

I can’t believe anyone’s the slightest bit bothered by all this. Jett was pissed and didnt want a camera in his face until he had a second to regroup. So what who cares. No one wants a camera in their grill when they’re pissed and upset. To me it shows he (and Hunter) are normal.  I bet $100’ and breakfast anyone giving them shit for their reaction would absolutely lose their minds if someone stuck a camera in their face during one of their worst days.  🤷‍♂️😆.  Jett just gave the cameraman a downvote, like this post is going to get. LOL

I would agree with you normally if we are talking about regular Joes.  But these are professional athletes, and how often do you see professional athletes trying to swipe the camera away after losing?  It happens, but it's very rare.

Note, it's also the camera operators job to capture the drama for the broadcast.  This was disrespectful to the camera man as he's just doing his job.

Jett said he was pissed that he can't ride how he normally rides.

My thoughts are that he can only ride super smooth, "Jettfortless" as JS7 calls it, when he's riding at 90%.

With the increased competition, mostly from his brother, he now needs to ride at 100%.  He has to push, and with that comes mistakes and sketchy moments.

Maybe his pace is affected by his foot, or maybe he's human, and when he's 100% healthy he only has 10% speed in reserve, instead of 30% as many have speculated.

Double edged sword I guess ?  On one hand these guys are expected to "Be professional" at all times no matter what the circumstance, but on the other hand the media LOVES it when they aren't, even for a brief moment. If a rider was "Disrespectful to a cameraman" he should take that as a compliment. Job well done. I get it but I don't blame either one of them one bit, they weren't prepared to talk to the media yet, and if anyone is mindful and respectful to the media god knows it's those two. I just became a bigger fan of both of them.

I think you are isolating motocross as if it's not trying to be 'professional' as everyone wants it to be.  There are cameras in the faces of athletes literally 24-7 on sports broadcasts showing the losers the moment they lose.  We should not be making excuses for motocross riders as if they are the only one's who are on film losing.

If we are considering the sport a white trash sport that it's known to most people, then yes it makes sense to make excuses for Jett's uncharacteristic meltdown.

I have no problem with him motioning to the camera, and I have no problem with the cameraman saying nah I'm going to stay right here and do my job.

Getting upset = white trash ?  Damn you got some high standards but ok. 😛. I think I'll tap out of this one. I don't see this going anywhere. I like the rough around the edges nature of motocross over the average stick and ball sport. If that makes me white trash oh well. 🤷‍♂️🙂

did anyone really expect Jett to pick up right where he left off before the injury? That was a massive complex surgery and recovery. They were kinda sketchy about admitting any recovery setbacks and when exactly he was back riding on a bike. ~ 3 weeks before the Pala opener they showed him limping around a couple times. He's probably just really pissed at himself for not being where he'd hoped (best case) he could be this far into the season.

No, getting upset is not white trash.  I'm saying the spot has a white trash reputation yet people here want to "grow the sport" and make it more professional.  I said I was fine with the tantrum, that shows the fire in them.  But swiping a camera on a broadcast that is supposed to be for a professional sport, is where you shouldn't be giving any free passes.  They fine athletes in other sports for unsportsmanlike conduct.  So I guess it depends how you view our sport.

Are we a professional sport, yes or no?  If yes, consider how many other professional athletes swipe a camera away when they lose.  If no, then not a problem, continue on with business as usual.

It happens in other sports all the time. And no, none of these resulted in any fines or penalties.

I said it happens, but "all the time"??  Hilarious.  There are professional sports on 24-7.  It does not happen "all the time".

Your hairs must be pretty big if you think the difference between 'rare' to 'all the time' is conidered splitting hairs.  I'm not the one who started the thread BTW, just pointing out the obvious.

When riding the second moto, his right foot was bouncing on the peg like he couldn't put weight on it. I can't imagine having rail a high speed, flat, left hander without weighting the outside peg.

They’re never gonna believe you live the life.

Recently, one of’em was telling me we should compare bank statements.

I told him,”Dude! I drive a Transit cargo van with 200,000 miles on it! I make the California Required MinimumSalary!”😎

Yup…the kids are ballers and they don’t understand that some of us are just gettin’ by…

I think the cameras in their face as they dismount with HR still pegged and adrenaline pumping is unnecessary anyway, let them get the dirt out of their teeth and recover a little, in 3 minutes they will be up on the podium ask the questions to them there.

🤣

Exactly, which is why I keep two beaters in my corral too.  I often prefer rolling them around and keeping way undercover, especially when going to LA as no one is going to want to carjack me in my old beaters.

Anyway, it's been fun. Now that things are cleaned up after last night I gotta go get ready for another party tonight that starts in a few (World Cup). I'm just the janitor...

Didn't he swat the camera away after moto 1, which he won? I thought the behavior was odd, honestly.  He won and Deegs finished further back due to the crash. 2 good things, in his favor. Moto 2 he finished behind his brother and Deegs, made 2 costly mistakes and acted normal, afterwards. So I would think he'd be more upset after moto 2 than moto 1, if he was just "being competitive."

Honestly don’t think he is worried about Deegz. He is worried about Hunter and just got passed and dropped late in the moto by him.

OJ, I think they were both pizzed that Hunta made yet another late race unforced brain fart crash. He lost the SX championship because of it and Im just as pizzed as they were.

It really shouldnt happen again.
