Call me crazy and here we go again but listening to a few podcast this last week and what does chase do if he goes get out of the deal. Especially after what’s just happened at thunder valley press… feel like quad lock Honda would be a good home, taking it back to his routes abit with Honda and yarrive has said he wants to make the next step with the team and take on a bigger name rider. Also feel like they would move heaven and earth  to make it work for him bike wise being a private team.

Man this is getting ugly quickly, it will either be star Yamaha dirt cheap or quad lock I reckon. But also can see kawi having a melt down and not letting it happen two years in a row of a rider getting out of a three year deal.

^You said it. Kawasaki will fight tooth and nail to hold him to his contract, I'd bet.

Chase will have options, he's a 450 SX and MX champ who still has the speed to win.

I'm more curious about what options Kawi has, at this point. They need to clean house and start from scratch, their program is obviously not working and hasn't for a long time.

He should go to mxgp for a year just to get out of the spotlight for a bit.

That would be anything but that. Spotlight would be huge

Maybe on vital forums which is a very small corner of the mx community But mxgp basically has no media coverage.

RV’s venture had plenty of attention on social media and youtube

Him riding around in 5th doesn’t make the bike look all that good. Maybe the 2027 bike will be better.

Chase really needs to get his head together, that is first and foremost. He was a couple corners away from winning the entire SX series on the KTM, a bad decision on the 3rd Moto of the triple crown saw him throw away a win and end up off the podium. The point difference there is more than the difference between his second and Cooper Webb winning the title. He went the rest of the season blaming the  bike for his poor decisions.

With all the front end tucks, the same tucks we have seen him do on every bike, I do not doubt the Yamaha, if he could get on a factory Yami, would be any different with his current headspace.

I'm beginning to think he doesn't have it between the ears to win again with any consistency. Did you guys hear Ricky and RV say that Chase just needs to ride the bike?. It was pretty blunt. They both  basically said he needs to push the strengths of the bike and ride out the weaknesses. And he needs to stop swinging for the fences.

The only place I see him going to is Star, if he does get outta that contract. Star was helping him as an amateur before Geico nabbed him.

I wonder about Ducati. Ferrandis seems to be showing that the bike is solid, he's looking better than he has since his title. I can't imagine they don't have the money, and like Prado, Chase may ride for cheaper base to get away from green. This year has been awful for Chase, and a million times worse for Kawi. Everybody has seen that even though Chase has almost never been happy with his team and bike, he has still almost always been able to lay down the fastest lap and be a threat to win every race... until this year on green.

If he leaves his dad in the USA it could work. Having a year or two to reset himself on a good bike. Trusting himself while setting up a bike.

That would really mess with his head if he went and got waxed in the MXGPs for a year

Word is the Ducati has a small window for setup. If true, that would NOT work well for Chase.

Go blue, where Star has a TON of data on the current Gen 450 and get to work on rebuilding the lad.

Ducati in the States is a Red Bull team. No way does Monster let that happen.

A non energy drink team, sure. Star which is also Monster, sure. But you can rule Ducati out.

Riding around in 5th place looks fine, lets look at who is behind to be in 5th place

  1. Jett Lawrence, arguably the fastest rider in the world currently even though not at 100%
  2. Hunter Lawrence, the guy who has finished second in nearly every series he has been on since jumping into the 450 class
  3. Hayden Deegan, As determined fast rider in his first year of the 450 class who will probably make the leap to challenge the Lawrence brothers in races to come.
  4. Prado, two time World MX (450) champ.

Not like running in 5th he is being beaten by anyone slow, and he was closing in on Deegan at the end of the moto last weekend.

Yes Chase has the potential to beat all four of these riders and be in the mix, but he also has the potential to beaten by all four of them week in week out and you could probably throw a healthy Tomac into that mix, then next year at Lucas.

He was best on a Honda. Just pissed about potentially becoming second fiddle when the brothers came on. I don’t believe he was as much of a head case until Jett

He wasn’t bad at KTM either….had chase moments for sure.

Talk about peaks and valleys with him

This. I remember when he was leaving Honda I was full on tinfoil hat banging the Yamaha drum hoping it wasn’t actually a new KTM deal lol. Still think the bike would fit him well today. Can’t speak for any team/family dynamics, obviously.

Saw in an interview with Weege today before the crash. Sexton basically said:

There isnt any progress on the bike

He doesn’t expect to win

He doesn’t have any expectations on where to finish

He’s just gonna go out there and try to manage

He’s uncomfortable, and won’t ride past that comfort level.

The defeat is becoming so real.

Clean house and turn the team over to Mitch

He was a Red Bull rider just last year. He’ll go wherever

The bike is so new I'm not sure we can say for certain yet... It looks legit on track.
