I was at MXDN last year and watched with my own eyes an obviously very very talented 18 year old latched onto Jett most of moto/race 1. He made some mistakes and faded a bit at the end but hes a kid, fearless, fast and crazy impressive. I love it! Im really excited to see what another half year on the fo fiddy has done. Lets all hope tgey bring it and some needed excitement to the gate!

He’ll probably finish about where he starts. He hasn’t  shown he’s a move through the pack guy. Luckily his starts are good.

Jett will beat the brakes off Lucas so bad the “USA 2027” talk will end somewhere around Saturday at 5pm

Point proven. He doesn’t always get good starts. But the factory KTM world champ can pass privateers. Most of them anyway.

According to some in the thread about throw-away races, real racers don't race to win if they're out of the championship and they will back off unconcerned with personal or professional pride or bonuses 😄

I hope so, on the other hand I hope that last round didn't break him mentally, being out of the championship 2 rounds in gotta be rough when it was pretty much out of his hands and I bet he had high expectations for himself coming in.

I remember everyone saying Ken was out of the SX title this year too early on after some bad results. Hunter and or Jett are just as likely to have a DNF.

Amazing ride as an 18 year old first time on a 450. To be within 7 seconds of arguably the best motocross racer in the world currently and at his home soil to boot.

Jett beat Lucas by 7 seconds in the first moto at the 2025 MXoN, and by some 30 seconds in moto 3 (and Hunter beat him by over 45 seconds in that race). So if Lucas beats either of them in 2026, it would be a surprise.

Lucas crashed in the 2nd race on lap 7 while running 2nd, he's faster now but obviously will have to deal with the bike difference, time difference and format difference which I don't think he'll adapt to quite as well as Herlings did tbh

I'm looking forward to this more than the opener personally

Myself, I don't think it would happen. I hope Jett goes 2-1 and Coenen gets 1-2. Now THATS a REAL rivalry! And they could only meet up a few times a year at the very most. That might be the beginning of a decade long rivalry. Then Deegan would have to find a new "rival" one a bit more on his level. hahaha

Or what happens if Jett hurts his foot again? Coenen gets hurt? What would happen to the MXGP world if Coenen doesn't even get on the podium?

Not gonna happen

To be fair ,jett is contesting a championship series , hes smart enough to let him go if he doesnt want to take a risk and DNF. So he gets second place ,that still ahead of everyone else hes competing against for the title.

Jett won't want to be beaten, especially after just going 1-1, by a 19 year old coming across the world for the first time in his week off, riding a different bike, different track under a different format etc

Your logic can be used for Coenen too, he's risking way more under the circumstances, he's facing something completely new and leading his championship

I finally had time today to watch Kegums and Hangtown entirely.

I watched the motos in that order : MX2 r1, MXGP r1, MX2 r2, MXGP r2, US 250 r1, US 450 r1, US 250 r2, US 450 r2.

Watching Hunter and Lucas recently, I convinced myself that, as they both improved a lot since last year and they look nearly perfect at everything (start, technique, race craft, track analyse...), they closed the gap with Jett and with that injury that he had might take him out of the top spot.

After watching that last moto, Jett is the best in the world by the same margin still. It's freaking crazy how good he is, I don't care if people here say I'm a fan or not, he is the mozart of our sport. He is not unbeatable, Lucas would probably have him covered at Lommel, but no one is approaching Jett's perfection.

Haiden has some speed, enough to beat Jett with max throttle and willpower, but Haiden is world behind race craft wise.

Thanks for the reminder mr Lawrence, and the lesson. As DV would say, put the camera on him for 30 minutes, we can watch this all day, Jett is the best coach in the world, just look at him and try to reproduce it.

Crazy, really crazy. Jett's a freaking genius on a motorcycle.😵‍💫

If Lucas beats Jett, maybe we'll have a competitive outdoor season next year.

It will be anyway. It’s not fair to put that on Lucas either. He’s traveling across the world, won’t be on his MXGP bike, and it will be at Colorado so the bike will feel detuned.  But Lucas is one of the fastest in the world at the moment, so who knows?

I don’t think he’ll beat Jett or Hunter, but Southwick should be interesting because both Lucas and Jett are phenomenal in the sand.

Here's my personal beat Jett shock rating out of 10 for each of the three he's scheduled to race.

Thunder Valley: 9 - This would be seriously shocking, but the missing 1 is reserved for something happening to Jett that reinjures his foot.

Southwick: 5 - He's a serious stud in sand, so I'd say it's a coin flip between the two.

Ironman: 6 - Not quite as shocking since he has some track familiarity, but still more than Southwick.

At this point it would be cool if someone could even beat the Lawrence brothers to the first turn.  🤷‍♀️

Lucas flew into the USA to do a one off race while leading the MXGP championship. I don’t care if he takes 1st or 10th, he’s a bad ass and gets all the respect in the world from me. I certainly don’t expect him to win this weekend, he’s on a borrowed bike, never raced here before, has no experience at the track, and winning this race isn’t his goal (the MXGP championship is). I feel like him and his brother are here testing the waters to make sure this is what they want in the future.

If coenen beats jett, jett will let him keep the Camper van that Mirtle bought Coenen with Jetts money!

Look, you already stated that riders mentality change when they have a big lead. Of course, you also think that is absolutely not the same thing as backing off and doing only what is needed to secure a Championship, leading to less racing.

Congratulations, you managed to eat the cookie and keep it. Very few is gifted with that talent 🤦

Ian has already stated that fuel and sound is the difference, bikes are same.

So he will gain power with fuel and sound regulation, but lose with altitude. So maybe not as big difference since everyone else has to deal with it as well. Can maybe mess with starts more than anything?

The man that has more than what it takes to beat Jett is currently ghost riding his career in to oblivion. It’s really depressing actually.

The mentality change I was referring to fuckwit was that if a champion finds himself out of a championship(because of a crash or DNF) that they would not stop trying and their mentality would change from championship mode to trying to win every remaining race to prove that they are still the best and not fold and just ride it out as you stated. I went on to say that your boyfriend will still try to win because of his ego and that if he didn’t it will say a lot about him….You’re assumptions about me are wrong again… (Maybe you should stop assuming because it’s making you look like an ass)….now go away little fly…you’re beginning to give me stalker vibes….
