Between the Chase situation and Kawasaki's reliability issues with Stew Baylor in GNCC they have had a rough couple years.
Stew seemed pretty frustrated after yesterdays race, he was last off the line with the bike not starting and having no clutch for almost the whole race. Reading between the lines in his interview it sounds like he is relying on some guys on the OEM side to help with these issues and it isn't happening.
That being said he got 3rd and his brother won the race on the same bike.
Interview at 3:38:16 mark
I feel like Chase on Suzuki would probably be the best option for him. The platform doesn't change, so assuming he can find a setting he likes, he can just copy paste each year and take the bike out of the equation. A Chase that's focused solely on racing and not the bike would be amazing for these title fights.
Didn't predict a ghost ride.... Mid week, no photo/video practice injury should have him "banged up" in the very near future...
I really don't get it. how does his clutch go to the bar off the start for 3 years? Clutches really are not that complicated.

Kawasaki needs to turn the team over to Pro Circuit. Mitch will get the team on track.
Oscar
somewhat bad vibes so far. doesnt sound like a bad guy, just annoying and lacking a little humility.
i heard "he still rides the bike like hes a small guy". fair enough good insight there, but he needs to recognize that there is literally a built-in evolved mechanism where sons stop listening to their dads and pay more attention to other tribe members.
id want to tell this guy to shut the fuck up somewhere around week 2 and find a professional riding coach. he takes too much pride in this shit. i could tolerate john tomac all day. this guy....nope. terrible communicator.
Remember him stalling his KTM and it fucking up his race multiple times during his battle with Webb in '25? Imagine the Zook and him having to kick it over. Food for thought
I think that Kier's attitude and negative reinforcement coaching style is what has caused Chase to become the head case that he is. Kier has always been the first to blame the bike and the team and say "well it's not my kid he's perfect". So every moto when Chase pulls off and the first thing he hears is "you look like shit the bike looks like shit your set up is off we're never going to beat the Lawerence's like that" eventually that is beaten into your head... I don't have any inside information to base this off of besides just paying attention to the moto media for the duration of Chase's 450 career. There's always been rumors about Kier and Chase fighting and butting heads and Kier having bad relationships with team personnel at Honda and KTM.
I could be fully wrong. But I've been saying Chase needs to get away from his dad for a long time. I think STAR or PMG and finally cutting the leash from dad would be the last thing to try. After that, if that don't work, time to go across the pond and hop on the Honda in Europe...
Yeah, Pro Circuit have just been overwhelmed with titles...
100% there's such a huge difference in conditioned mental narrative between "youre dropping anchor in that corner son wtf" and "hey i think there's room to carry another gear through here if you try X"
huge huge. life changing. and you carry that voice with you for life if you don't make a conscious effort to overwrite it.
Idk, doesnt matter what bike Chase is on, he will not be a threat for the top step or two, or 3 now with Deegan.
You have Ferrandes getting 4th on a brand new bike with not much historical data?
I could maybe rationalize with Chase riding one of the new manufacturers but complaining about the Honda, Ktm or now Kawi doesn't add up.
I truly believe this is all the Brothers Lawrences fault, Eli’s and now Deegans fault. If those riders backed it down 10-15 percent we would see a happy Chase. Some people reach their peak and regress at different ages. The tucking the front is a rider issue.
Watch Hunter at the last race, there was a left hander that more than once he had to chase the front as it was washing out. Hunter was in control the entire time.
Not saying this is #4’s chief complaint though.
Prado's bike hand grenades and within hours we have a video with team manager discussing the issue...but we can't get a single comment from a Kawi staff member over what happened? Another PR disaster. They KNOW this is all over the web, they could just say "Oh, it was nothing. He came in to the pit, was exhausted and frustrated he fell, leaned the bike a bit and it fell over."
Instead...crickets.
I actually had the same thought. Ryno is kind of a nut head but he does know how to ride a dirt bike. Maybe Chase could benefit from someone outside the box.🤔
Before a PR can be released, this event needs to go to the psychology department first, then to HR and then the Public Relations dept at Kawi.
I would grab RJ he would send that Kawi and wouldnt give up.
Marchbanks shows that bike is fine its just the nut job elite riders having issues
Pit Row
All my homies hate Sexton. And Kawi. Clown show
RJ is a big bike complainer too. FC, first years on Husky,
I couldn't imagine being 26yrs old and not cutting the cord with your Dad. Chase is grown man FFS. At least, get it back to a normal father/son relationship
Was at the race and Sexton was actually catching Deegan, figured he just tucked the front end (his normal) while pushing to get Deegan
Called it the day I heard it.
I think that the 'successful' moto dad/son dynamic is a lot stranger than what most of us went through. And when I say successful, I am talking about the rider making a factory team, not the relationship between the dad and the son. They spend a lot of time together during the years that a lot of us were gaining our independence, rebelling (even if only a little bit), and generally learning to be our own person. These racer kids don't usually have that same situation, and they are over-reliant (emotionally) on their parents compared to a lot of us, I think.
My first job was working for my dad, but he wasn't out in the field taking times of my progress. I was just part of a crew of people, and during the work day he wasn't my dad for most practical purposes. Again, these riders don't quite get that sort of thing. They are the main focus, everything is about their performance, and even the slightest criticism can come across as not being good enough and that can create a really strong co-dependency.
I don't know if that is the case with the Sextons, but it wouldn't surprise me. Some riders and parents get through that a lot easier than others. Some of them end up with wedges that last for years, or even decades.
If I was Yamaha, I wouldn’t want Chase on my bike.
He did complain about the Honda, before leaving in what has been spoken about a strained manner.
He complained about the KTM. Needed different forks, made it publicly known he’d purchased his own KYB practice suspension.
Has done nothing but complain about the Kawasaki and causes a scene in the public eye.
Nah… you may have talent, but you’re hard work and a liability. Yamaha have what they need in Deegan. Chase is a risk.
Remember the last time someone from Kawi did speak? Probably best they stay quiet 😂
After Weimer, Tomac, & Prado not having exactly a love fest with the Kawie or the team...I wondered why the absolute hell did Sexton think it would be different for him? He hasn't gotten it right yet. When a team and virtually every rider that's sat their butts on their bike have had a negative experience...you have to wonder.
I'm almost sure Sexton signed before outdoors so he hasn't witnessed the Prado fiasko yet and he probably had to hate the KTM so much that he thought it could only get better. The amount of money he got offered from Kawi probably didn't hurt either lol
Possibility that Kawi signed him on a bonus type contract and Chase now knows he cannot execute the performance to make any money.
They did not.
