Yeah I think that's my issue. He was quoted after the race and said "all hype aside, that was a good 1st round." Lol no, you don't get to say that after running your mouth and driving the hype like he was coming in to take over. So any "haters" have every right to call him out on that, after getting beat. It's just part of the game when you want to be the McGregor, Deion Sanders type of athlete. When you lose after all the "look at me" stuff, leading up to it, you will be criticized.
Take that side of it away though, he rode really well. Under normal circumstances, that's a good ride To build on. But he chose the path that he's on, so if he doesn't beat Jett and dominate the class, he's in for some ppl clowning him on it.
That is not the issue. The issue is/was that all the 38 fanboys said he will wax the field, Jett included.
Jett is an alien on a dirt bike. If he is fit no one can touch him.

If the theatrics and marketing hype derail your whole understanding of the actually racing and sucks you in, that’s on you. A reasonable motocross fan sees a likely solid result for a rookie. The only ones rewriting it are the haters and the extremists on both sides, ironically both pretty much doing the exact thing they claim to “hate.” And at this point, both sides are annoying as fuck. Across the motocross internet not just this site it’s mostly Deegan talk, a little Jett noise, and barley any acknowledgment of the guy who actually obliterated the field. . .
I'm old school, and I crap talk Deegan a lot...but coming from 20th at the start to 5th on a track like Pala in his first 450 race against the pack of bad dudes like that is pretty impressive in my opinion. I don't like his mouth, but to be fair...this sport needs a "villan" to make things a little more spicy.
Spot on. No doubt they have made a ton of money off of his shtick….but being disrespectful and obnoxiously arrogant only works if you dominate….and he did mostly dominate a weak 250 field. I do feel the mind games had him living rent free in some 250 riders heads. Zero chance of that working with Jett and Hunter, or really any top 450 riders. Honda probably pins that dumb ass RIP picture in the rig and laughs at it walking by. Whether or not haiden even wins races…and I don’t know if he ever wins a championship in the 450s,….. he will never dominate 450s. Never. Jett, Hunter, and Prado are too young, and the generation just behind Haiden is too talented. Also, Lucas is coming and I put him ahead of Haiden on a 450. We will get a glimpse of that this summer. So, after you talk shit on everybody and don’t dominate…eventually people just quit paying attention to the BS.
I will say one thing for sure, having Douche-Boy on the track made me a Jett fan finally.

He did say he came to “make a statement,” but not that he would beat Jett specifically. He literally says he’s “got a lot of work to do” before he can run with the 450 guys. Literally watch the Pala pre-race press conference it's the same tone...The reality is a huge difference to whatever narrative you made up in your head or fell for that is social media click bait.

Years ago When JT$ raced for Butler Bros I was able to race his bike one night . The bike was extremely fast but it was such a weird set up . Had 2 sets of foot pegs welded on top of each other and a cut down subframe . Not a chance he is 5'9. maybe 5'6 on his best day
