The Moth Liked a reply to forum topic Deegan “riding the leaders pace”???

I think the only one you’re trying to convince is yourself. I don’t know very many people that said Deegan would beat everybody and dominate. The general consensus, even among Deegan fans, was that he would probably win some races, but wouldn’t beat Jett, Hunter, Eli or Prado on the regular. For the few people that did say Deegan would dominate and win, individuals like yourself counteract and balance the lunacy with your own nonsense. I recall a lot of people saying that Deegan had no chance against Prado, for example. Haiden is doing excellent for a rookie. The two...

It was disappointing to see Danger , Sexton in the first moto. But it was awesome seeing him come thru the field to 4th. He was hang’n it out going up HP hill, it actually was insane how long he was pull’n the cable before he let off.

I've been hearing him, Duffe, Brian, and the rest of his crew talking like that at the end of almost every vlog episode since I got into it like 2 years ago but I do know what you mean, it's not like he didn't come out gloating and messing with the Lawrences and stuff. They shut him up right quick lol. I do think that he's the most capable of challenging those guys right now, GP riders excluded. Doesn't mean he is or will but I think that still says something for a rookie, regardless of how much he chirps.

A1 this year was absolutely packed! I heard the over/under bridge is exclusively for California rounds because it’s too expensive to travel. That tunnel makes for great racing and track designs! Hopefully Supercross can bring it back on the road. I also like Anaheim being a baseball stadium, the diamond makes them super creative with track design imo.

That’s something someone would say who’s never ridden at the top level of the sport. All the riders say setup is key. What do you seem to know that they don’t?

ohh yes you do and it cost something like 40$ to watch it. if you ask me its a BIG fuck up by DC. that was easy the best way for people that are interested in the sport to find a new young rider to be a fan of. i always put it on tv when i got home from work and watch when cooking food.

I think at times Haiden can run their pace. We've seen it in quali's and at various points in motos, and I'd imagine it will happen more often. Every rider out there is constantly seeking incremental growth but since he's newer to the 450 I'd imagine probably has more places to grow before his returns diminish. One strength I've noticed from Deegs is that he's very good at hitting a benchmark and then treating that as a new launching off point. Set goal > barely achieve it > learn to normalize it > stabilize > set new goal > repeat...

Not very high. He has no 450 titles yet and will be at least 27 before he even has a chance to earn one this summer. In contrast, Jett will be turning 23 with already three 450 titles (not counting SMX which he has three) with a chance for a fourth still possible in MX (and SMX). Not saying it...

But he still doesn't have a 450 Championship yet While Jett already has: 1 x 450SX, 2 x 450MX, and 3 x 450SMX

Good point, we tend to speak of the Lawrences as if they are on in the same. It's an epic battle and no one seems to notice.

#donjulio you seem to have some very insightful knowledge. When and who do you see taking a first O/A in 450 outdoor? Also, do you see anyone beating them in SX and when?

Really surprised by the ammount of czech riders in Lommel. We are born with chronical allergy to sand (like Anakin Skywalker). It would be insane if someone else than Mikula would score points from them. Also kinda thin start list in MXGP...

Also looking at the points again.. so wild to me that Lucas has like 5 races now where he DNF/DNS, while Herlings has 3 DNF and they still have that kind of a gap to 3rd. They are both really riding in another dimension this year.

Many of you are misunderstanding the rule...it has nothing to do with time gained or lost by going off the track the main reason for this particular rule is safety, the safety of the flaggers and track personnel and to spectators in the area. This rule has been covered in the riders meetings, they have been told multiple times that if you go off the track and accelerate without any attempt to slow or look for oncoming traffic you will be docked 1 position. The ruling was exactly as the rule reads in the rulebook.

Exactly. I think it's reasonable to infer that the track cut/unfair advantage rule likely tries to serve two purposes: to deter track‑cutting for a competitive advantage (time or position advantaged gained) and to enforce safe behavior when a rider leaves the track. The rule is not designed to punish a rider simply for going off‑track. There’s this habit of jumping...

Riding the long way around and losing time to the person ahead and behind, but accelerating loses one spot. Is it different if you accelerate while off the track next to the whoops and pass 3 people, or even reduce the gap to the person ahead, and increase it to the person behind, before pulling back on? IE gain an advantage? I would assume so.

I agree with you jemcee. These guys who say that riders should re enter the track where they left want the rider to stop, turn around, ride back against the flow of the other riders then do another 180 and enter the track from a standstill. I don't understand how anyone thinks that is safe. On the penalty, its pretty simple. The AMA want to see the rider lift a hand off the handlebars to show they are not accelerating hard and do a head check to make sure they aren't pulling on to the track right infront of someone...
