As far as Deegan, he’s doing awesome. He’s in his rookie season going up against Hunter Lawerence, who is riding the best he ever has, Jett, who even with an injured foot is one of the best riders in the world. He’s beating a 4x World Champion and the rest of the class in his rookie season. All of them are seasoned 450 riders.

For context, Hunter didn’t win any overalls in his rookie season, was consistently well back from Sexton, and Jett was out injured. Sexton won one overall in his rookie season, but had only so-so results in the rest finishing 5th overall in a somewhat weak class.

Tomac didn’t win a 450 title for 3 seasons, and Jett, well Jett is an exception who went 22-0 in his rookie season, but I don’t think any of them faced the competition Haiden has in their rookie seasons. Yet some are acting like Haiden will never win in the 450 class. If anything Deegan will get better, he’s just taking his lumps now while the keyboard heroes touch tips at the thought of him losing.

OMG this is so true.... I am a race fan and both Jett and Deegan fan but the hate is ridiculous at this point. Yeah, Jett went 22-0 his rookie season but against who? He didn't have a field this deep and if you drop another Jett and Hunta in to his rookie season he never would have went 22-0. I think he would be right where Deegs is... in 3rd chasing and learning.

It absolutely wouldn't have mattered who else lined up in 2023. Chase in 2023 is still one of the fastest guys we have ever seen and he couldn't lead a single lap vs Jett. Chase was faster than in 2022 and he traded motos with the best Tomac we have seen every weekend that year. 2023/2024 Chase would have still won overalls this year. Also not only that, talking about that a perfect season like that is so disprespectful, just staying off the ground (as a rookie) in general and having zero bike problems is almost impossible in this sport. To discredit championships in general is fucking stupid. To discredit a perfect season is crazy work.

They were both in another dimension that year. The depth of the field wouldn't have made a single difference, keep telling yourself that, so you can sleep better at night.

In retrospect, Sexton deserves so much respect for how dang good he was in 2023. At the time, it seemed embarrassing that he let a rookie run the table. But, knowing what we know now about Jett's level, it's insane that Sexton was able to finish so many motos right on him and, at times, turn faster laps than him. And Jett was ripping holeshots pretty much every moto that season and never hit the deck, either.

Ok 3 time and counting.....but I'm not wrong all one has to do is look at your posting history or lack of posting in any thread without Deegan as the subject....exactly like you were with your last user name.....just waiting on your next ban from here...have a nice day...

I think that’s what broke him. Jett would get the start every time and Chase could run the same pace but not that little bit more to get around him. After a couple motos I believe that’s got in his head

The amount of hard hits/conussions Chase had over the past years definitely didn't help him, that's for sure. Hope he recovers well and comes back strong next year, racing is much better when he's riding like he did on the KTM/Honda. Kinda insane he still won races in SX on the Kawi when he looked this off most of the races.

Jett has obviously gained mote speed since his rookie 450 season whereas Chase has not elevated his speed.
Too many bike brands switches and injuries have kept him at at his 2022 speed.
Hopefully he gets his mojo back.

Dylan Ferrandis won in his 450 rookie season.....on a big Yamaha to boot. stop making excuses for Deegan, his fans, and the rest of those who hyped him preseason - including his daddie and Ryan Hughes

I think at times Haiden can run their pace. We've seen it in quali's and at various points in motos, and I'd imagine it will happen more often. Every rider out there is constantly seeking incremental growth but since he's newer to the 450 I'd imagine probably has more places to grow before his returns diminish. One strength I've noticed from Deegs is that he's very good at hitting a benchmark and then treating that as a new launching off point. Set goal > barely achieve it > learn to normalize it > stabilize > set new goal > repeat. For example I don't really expect him to get moto wins (not that I'm writing it off), but I think his joking silver lining comment about getting the holeshot had some weight behind it, and I'd now expect him to get 1-2 more of those before the season is through.

It's not a pace issue with the Lawrences, it's that they're comprehensive. I mean, yes Jett went 24-0 once which was rad but his 2023 first-turn statistics alone would've made him a daunting competitor that year without his other attributes.

I will say, Haiden's own drama-stirring at the beginning of the season has kind of obscured that he's had a very solid season. Future championship runs don't come from single race speed they come from accumulating races and off-seasons without injury. Not saying he's ever gonna beat those guys because who fucking knows, it's motocross lol, come winter 2026 we could be watching Chase Sexton on a tear for all we know.

that's great, but when did the Deeg's narrative switch from winning to "hitting benchmarks" and "checking boxes"? we know the answer....when he realized he can't run Lawrence pace for a whole moto. he's not any closer to them than he was at the beginning of the season

James and Weege kept saying how “DEEGS IS RIDING THE PACE OF THE LEADERS” as he was making his way thru the pack.  Now I get he was slicing the pack apart going from 31st to 4th.  However, after lap 2, Deegan was 27 seconds down.  At the finish, Deegan was 56 seconds down.  Great comeback, 100%, however, “riding the leaders pace”?  Absolutely not, the Lawrence boys were 2-3 seconds a lap better then him the whole race. 2nd moto, if Jett didn’t wad it up, he would have been 25-30 seconds ahead of Deegan on a clean start.  Producers, Weege, and Stewart are pushing the Deegan hype machine at every turn.

It's a script, written for them by the series title sponsor.

Monstor Energy..

I've been hearing him, Duffe, Brian, and the rest of his crew talking like that at the end of almost every vlog episode since I got into it like 2 years ago but I do know what you mean, it's not like he didn't come out gloating and messing with the Lawrences and stuff. They shut him up right quick lol.

I do think that he's the most capable of challenging those guys right now, GP riders excluded. Doesn't mean he is or will but I think that still says something for a rookie, regardless of how much he chirps.

Deegan is right where I expected him to be, but now the Lawrences aren't there - they are 30s ahead.

It was disappointing to see Danger , Sexton in the first moto. But it was awesome seeing him come thru the field to 4th. He was hang’n it out going up HP hill, it actually was insane how long he was pull’n the cable before he let off.

I think the only one you’re trying to convince is yourself. I don’t know very many people that said Deegan would beat everybody and dominate.  The general consensus, even among Deegan fans, was that he would probably win some races, but wouldn’t  beat Jett, Hunter, Eli or Prado on the regular.

For the few people that did say Deegan would dominate and win, individuals like yourself counteract and balance the lunacy with your own nonsense. I recall a lot of people saying that Deegan had no chance against Prado, for example.

Haiden is doing excellent for a rookie.  The two guys that he is not beating are two of the best in the world.  Hunter Lawrence is three years into his 450 career and still doesn’t have a title. Deegan is nine races into his 450 career and guys like you are saying he’s never gonna win one.

Any fairness or objectivity with individuals like yourself doesn’t exist when it comes to Deegan. You enter every thread about Deegan and even threads not about him to remind everybody that he still hasn’t won a race, that he still hasn’t caught up to the Lawrence’s, and you do it 10 times in the same thread.  It’s ridiculous and it is far worse than the bedbugs.

Staying close to the leaders lap times that have a completely open track while using whatever line he had to use in order to be making passes is a huge achievement.

Deegan already knows that he is going to end the outdoors in 3rd place but come playoff time and the points reshuffle he is still in contention for that championship.

SMX is not a championship. It's a three-race gimmick in which the sole purpose is designed to keep more riders from competing in WSX.

And if it didn’t have that payout, none of the top pros would show up. Unlike the MXoN, which has effectively zero purse, but the top riders want to win it.

Four paragraphs of sticking up for Deegs while ignoring that he hasn't lived up to his own hype.

Just like all the other bedbugs , you intentionally ignore the core of why a lot of folks aren't fans...it's of course the fact that Deeg's mouth came into the season white hot and gloating how he'd be beating the Larry Bros.  Like many other's have said ...if he hadn't come into the season with that ridiculous "RIP JETT" homemade shirt that also called out Jett's GF , people wouldn't have sky high expectations of him beating the 450 cream of the crop in his rookie season.  Deegs is simply NOT living up to HIS OWN bluster coming into the season and that's never a good look.

Unlike the bedbugs...I'm not a fan of riders with an inflated ego who talk smack non-stop and then can't back it up.

Anyone who knows motocross and has watched Jett Lawrence especially, and also Hunter, knew Deegan wouldn't be able to beat them. People just can't look at things objectively.  Especially those whose thing is deepthroating Donger and his dad Lips...

If Jett can do whatever it takes to not mention Deegan, you should be able to do the same. You and the 3 other homies infest every thread with the same nonsense.

No need to reply with an AI pick of Brian with big lips. It's really fucking strange you spend free time doing stuff like that. I understand Deegan dissed you're boy, you guys somehow justify it by insulting him at whatever cost. Like the creepy AI pictures.

As far as Deegan, he’s doing awesome. He’s in his rookie season going up against Hunter Lawerence, who is riding the best he ever has, Jett, who even with an injured foot is one of the best riders in the world.
