Congratulations to you guys. I love seeing it. Now whatever happens, don't touch that bike. BNG works. Keep it going.

You happen to know where I can get parts to rebuild the internal water pump on a 99 250? Sorry to bother but I can't find squat!

1985 RM250 During a West Hare Scramble in Boise, Idaho.

Getting lapped by the Pro Class while top 5ing the B class on an '85 RM250. I'd love to say I miss that bike, but the no power valve thing made it hard to ride enduro with. Still fun to show up with the wrong bike and beat modern stuff.

Just wondering how truly old the design is that just won the most prestigious title in our sport.....

It was still getting dead last when other bikes had a kickstarter.

I don't think shootouts are perfect, and for some people it could be the best 450, but they're a fairly decent indication of how the bikes stand imo.

You started talking about test rider biases without acknowledging your own, like you being a Suzuki fan and owning one, so whether or not you realise it you will try to convince yourself to believe positive things about the Suzuki, both to protect your own beliefs and ego, and because you have made a sizeable financial purchase of it and you don't want to feel negative about it.

I don’t own a Suzuki and haven’t since 2007 but I can assure you that the bike is more than enough in every category for 95% of this planet but you let shootouts steer you exactly where they want you. You are no faster on your “insert bike mfg” than you would be on the Zook is all I’m saying.  It’s not a bad bike for any of us and this thread proves it. Lots of happy Zook ownwers in here and I am sure not a single one says, I would have won last weekend if not for this damn Suzuki.

So many people have this idea that they're not going to be faster on any particular bike, but then don't do the logical thing of buying the cheapest bike if they're all the same. Why not just get a Kove or a low hour 20 year old 450 if there's no meaningful difference?

I'm not trying to shit all over the Suzuki, like I said it could be the best bike for some people, I just find it silly that public sentiment has shifted on a bike that hasn't changed at all in almost 9 years because one of the best riders in the world won a championship on a heavily modified Suzuki. And that also means all the test riders who rode one had some evil secret agenda to make the Suzuki look bad

Public sentiment hasn’t changed b/c Kenny won. Lots of people still buy Suzuki’s because they don’t let “shoot outs”  and a bunch of randos on Vital cloud their view of what makes a motorcycle good. This thread proves that. I’ll say again, test riders are just humans with an opinion, some can be more correct or not and the chips have to fall in some order. The hairs they are splitting in differences of the bike can be compensated by one rider or the other making a good one bad or visa versa. Buy what you want, ride the shit out of it and don’t bash the others only because everyone else does.

My 2007 Zook was the best turning, most planted, easy riding machine I ever owned.  However, I ride green because I’m loyal to my first bike brand and I can hop from brand to brand and still be the same speed. Each have their own flaws to me but that doesn’t mean I need to push that on to you.

Have a nice day,

Couldn't find any pics of my old bikes, had a couple RM 125's, and an 05 RM 250 that I loved. But, here's a couple of my 450 I got a while back.1000001423 1.jpg?VersionId=ciybQnZtJiqxAz4uePbj25zMiB1000001420.jpg?VersionId=

I just bought a 2022 RM-Z 250 last week with 10.7 original hours. Still have a 2012 450 with under 20 original hours (I have mentioned this before but I believe this was the best handling 450 ever made. JS7 may agree.)

I do really like my 2024 KX 450 but whenever an all-new RM-Z 450 shows up on showroom floors, I'll probably buy one.

Wild the rmz250 comes with a dual injector setup stock. It would be nice if the bike was sprung for average 250 rider weight. I’m strongly considering a rmz250 in the future. I really miss the handling of my 04 RM250.
