Yeah he looked amazing before the brainfart.
the mockery on this site is juvenile (yea that means you). the sport is deserving of better fans, quite honestly. I can’t tell if we’re dealing with 14 year olds or adults who never grew up, but whatever the case, you’re not “kicking anyone’s ass”, so drop it, in fact it’s like this - many of you simply don’t matter. and maybe it’s time you deal with that.
He was riding great for guy who made his first main.

Everything except Prados behaviour has been vindicated so far- there is no way Chase stays on Green for 3 years.
The larger question though, Yamaha or Suzuki, who’s game? Ducati or Triumph aren’t ready yet
I think his brain shorted out when he saw Garret in his peripheral about to pass him back. Few more rides like that along with his tendency to ignore fans/media for 4wks mid-season every year and the sport will start to leave him in the rear view. He’s already slowly being forgotten about, broadcast barely mentions him anymore, wait until Jett is back and Deegs moves up. Lots of exciting headlines in our sport, nobody wants to hear about Chase’s bike problems anymore after it’s been the same sh*t with 3 different manufacturers.
😂😂😂
At this point, I don’t know why another main factory supported team would trust him with a bike. Maybe on a shorter contract but for team managers watching this situation play out at Honda, KTM, and now Kawi this has to lower his value…
And maybe that’s what the guy needs to move forward. The consensus is he needs to get out of his own head and either riding for a privateer or being the clear #2 somewhere else should be humbling enough for him to just ride the damn bike.
Thats gotta be Sextons worst SX season ever at this point results wise. Anyone know?
"I don’t know why another main factory supported team would trust him with a bike" Ive read that about Reed, Stewart, Roczen, Prado and now Chase. It has never been true. Just saying
What?
Yamaha is full. They have Webb until Davies moves up.
Stewart rode for three 450 factory teams over the course of his 450 career. Chase has ridden with three in the last four years.
Reed bounced around a lot in the later days of his career, but did so as a future hall of famer.
Roczen has ridden for four 450 teams over the course of his 12 year career.
Prado had horrible optics after last year, but is earning trust back with some consistent results in his first year with KTM and this is only his second full year in the US.
Chase has the talent for sure, but it’s becoming real clear that the bike has nothing to do with his issues. When he’s comfortable and on it, he’s in rare air, but that’s not often the case. Hopefully the guy can figure it out.
Heat race was not his fault and it was nothing at all.
It's not the bikes he's having trouble with, apparently, it's the tracks.
As all the great ones do.
So if he is able to overcome whatever is holding him bac is there any way he stays on Kawasaki for 3 years?
Chase's problems seem purely psychological. I think getting smoked by Jett when he moved up to the 450 triggered this. The look on the guy's face as he sat there after quitting last night was very telling.
Pit Row
Do you think as he sat there he had any regrets about his life choices? Ie thinking why he ever left KTM
its not the bike its between his ears
At this point, he is a risk to himself. Seriously, his next incident could be really bad and do some damage.
I agree there is some of that, but most of the riders are like 14 year olds with what they share so we are left to speculate.
Chase, for example, comes back after being out after a crash....without really saying anything for more than month, and then proceeds to share the bike is great and he just needs to adapt to different tracks......then says they are testing triple clamps and suspension all week....and then rides great in the heat race coming through pack only to goon out in the main.
Tomac? Same shit. Amazing for the first 6+ races and then all of the sudden riding around in 6th or whatever? He was right behind Hunter who is now tied with him in points and he couldn't go with him? This after telling us he is fine and he was just "off" in Detroit and then we are told they found something with the suspension while testing. WTF was wrong with the Daytona or Seattle suspension where he decimated everyone?
The lack of transparency with this stuff is juvenile. We never saw RV, RC, JS, CR, MC, Windham, Stanton, Ward, Johnson etc ride around mid pack. If something is wrong, talk about it. Something is wrong with Eli and crickets. Chase clearly hates the bike, but hates every bike. Maybe this one is the worst? Who knows as we are left guessing.
I totally forgive Prado. He really turned it 180.
He's a legitimate top 6 guy in SX which is crazy to think about. Never rode 250 in SX. How many gate drops does he have in SX? And in a field this deep? Beating Webb. Crazy.. he's gonna be one of the guys outdoors for sure.
When a rider says he is going to have to run other lines than he wants because the bike needs wide lines, and also ride around all the bumps, it's not good 😄
Thats why JT said kawi will not be happy after this week's interviews.
Prado and Chase has the exact same opinion, they just used different words. That bike requires specific type of riders and it makes sense with how RV, Febvre and Anderson ride. Rear wheel steering. I don't think they can bandaid the bike. At least not without a lot of development.
It's something in the sense that his days spiral out of control as soon as something goes wrong. Exactly what happened last night. It's like it either goes perfect and he's on the podium and never on the ground or it's endless mistakes all day long. Rarely a middle ground with him.
I'm starting to think Chase is swirling the bowl. And I'm a fan. I used to think it was 55% bike, now I'm thinking it's 55% him.
To me, it looks like attention span issues. When he is on, he’s as good as anyone in the sport. When he’s even remotely distracted, he seems to make errors that are so simple for a guy with his talent.
Not sure what PED policy that SMX is following these days, but it probably still requires the equivalent of a TUE to use the most effective ADHD medications. Those meds can work for a while then start to lose their effectiveness over time, but with the PED restrictions that these athletes have, it’s a lot more involved than the average person who’s doctor can simply prescribe a different medication to see how well it works.
The way that Sexton has had so many of what we might call ‘brain farts’ makes me think that this is definitely a possibility.
Umpteenth brainfart for Sexton, and that one must hurt on every level...
😬
Where's LewLew when you need him?
Chase can "only" ride on 100%, or very close so to say. So when he have to take it down a notch it throws off his timing and technique. If tracks slow down, it's manageable.
But pair that with a bike that forces him to do things he doesn't want to and ride a lower pace. Recipe for disaster.
That’s actually pretty typical for someone with ADHD (obviously every person is a little bit different, though) and is part of the reason that I think that this is possibly part of his issues. When he ‘takes it down a notch’ or loses the slightest bit of attention, bad things seem to happen.
Of course, it may not have anything to do with it at all. I’m certainly not a doctor nor have I spent any time around Chase, but it’s just a hypothesis based on his interviews and seeing his riding over the last couple of years.
Either way, I hope we get to see a fully engaged and healthy (physically and mentally) Chase Sexton soon and for a very long time.
