The SLR crew was headed out the evening before the race to set up an emergency pit location and camp for the night. The only access was up that wash which would be closed due to being live race course in the morning, so hence why the SLR crew was there.
The SLR guys came up on the rocks, seeing them freshly piled, and the UTV tracks leading away that were the only tracks over the fresh disturbance. Then cue the video for the results...
I would guess that in addition to the video, there was addditional evidence in the GPS. Brent would have marked the rock traps in their GPS for race day as lines to avoid.
For those in other parts of the country/world who say, "non-moto": It's very "moto" for us on the West Coast who ride/race Baja and serve the Rally community. If you don't care, there's plenty of Deegan threads for you to read.

My understanding from a very credible source is that Toby himself was an "associate" to the incident, not directly the perp. Easy to read between the lines here based on the outcomes we've seen. Also, the lawyer/PR firm written social post saved him a lifetime ban, reportedly.

Also I heave heard from credible sources when it happened that he was responsible for messing with Ricky Brabec’s clickers and breaking the screws so they couldn’t change them back in Dakar a couple years ago… Seems like this is repeated behavior.

This is a pretty far-fetched story don’t you think? Do you really believe Toby Price, not only chose to, but was able to sneak up to a Honda bike in the bivouac with a screwdriver and sabotage the clickers?

it really happened; whether it was Price that did it or not is the question. I believe it was during one of the marathon stages, and at some point during the night another competitor turned all of Brabec's suspension clickers out of spec, resulting in a nearly unrideable bike the next day.
You are describing the narrative that Toby and his team are pushing. Placing most of the blame on his navigator, Brent. Toby will retreat to his ranch for 2 months and hope this blows over enough to race Baja 500 on June 6, 2026.
Someone did it, and it wouldn't have come from within the team(if we're thinking logically) so therefore someone from the outside did it and got access somehow. I have no clue if it was TP but it's not like the bikes are kept under guard or lock and key
I remember a story about someone doing something similar to Jeremy Whatleys' bikes' suspension when he was fighting for a world title in the 1980's.
