I haven't seen this mentioned but it's been blowing up for the last few days.
Price (driving a Trophy Truck) and his navigator Brent Bauman were disqualified from the San Felipe 250 by SCORE International for unsportsmanlike conduct. The incident allegedly occurred during pre-running on Friday, March 27, near Race Mile 52, where they were accused of placing rocks on the course to hinder other competitors (described by some as potential sabotage). A video circulated online showing Price behind his pre-runner vehicle, prompting reactions from fellow racers like Brock Heger and Bryce Menzies, who criticised the actions.f738a1
Price finished 8th in the Trophy Truck class before the disqualification. In response, he issued a statement denying the allegations, saying the footage does not prove any wrongdoing or intentional rock-stacking. He emphasised that he does not take the situation lightly due to the "significant damage" caused.62fb6b
Following the sanctions, Price announced he will step away from desert off-road racing for the foreseeable future. His navigator, Brent Bauman, has also resigned amid the fallout. Price stated he will reassess his position with the team and whether he will return to the series soon.ee648f
There's a post in Non Moto about it. I stuck it there because it was a truck driver not a bike rider. (although bikes are the most vulnerable from any "Alleged" rock placing)
I mean the guy is a 2 time Dakar champion on a bike....
They have a motocross track in Dakar?

I'm trying to figure out what your angle is here?
-Humor? no
-Ignorance ? maybe
In the interest of being a pedant — Apparently it was in a car only section of the course.
Yeah this is pretty slimy. It wouldn't surprise me if others have been doing this too, but that doesn't make it okay. He should be banned from SCORE.
man what a scum bag
Sounds like something Vince would do!
irrelevant 😒
Dude should rot in jail.
It really seems out of character for him, not that I know him personally but he seemed like a hero.
was wondering when this would hit Vital. Yes,not moto but pretty relevant. Oh, and he was caught red handed by a multi time Baja champion, as well as Mark Samuels 1x crew. Who won the race btw. Mark Samuels, who owns SLR, including the super cross SLR team, not just some random. To put it in perspective it would be like RC or RV burying boulders on the fastest straightaways on a nation track in the middle of the night with the intent to have his competitors crash. Yes, crazy right? And you might say, well he was going to be on the same course, so why would he do that? Well, because the team he was singling out was starting first and would most likely be the first Trophy Truck on the road and hit them before the next truck. Also, Toby's truck was way in the back due to a bad qualifying position. Remember the trucks start one at a time every minute and there were dozens of them. This was not on the moto course, this was a truck only section btw. Goodbye career...
Is there some actual proof of what he did? I've seen the accusations, but is this more of a he said she said type deal?
yes, there is proof, not he said she said. A 12 person panel of current and former Baja racers/champions/legends of the sport found him guilty with the evidence they received. Keep in mind this is a independent panel, not SCORE, who made the decision.
This is certainly not moto-related.
Holy moly...that's devastating...what a self-destructive series of decisions. I would be shocked if Red Bull and Quad Lock stay on board....
So sad....
So don't click.....problem solved
Pit Row
Didn’t he try to justify it too? Saying he was just trying to make things more fair or something?
Say it ain't so, Toby
I'm confused, did he place rocks to sabotage other competitors, or to build an alternate line for an advantage? Reading through what people have said, it's hard to figure out without the video.
Toby Price disqualified from San Felipe 250 – 131 Off-Road This article has a video that shows the rocks placed in the way.
Da fuk this have to do with moto??
he was, and his co-driver, who was fired after the race by the team owner bty, placing boulders in the middle of the course around blind high speed corners in the area that had multiple lines. Basically think of it as a sand wash filled with different lines and surrounded by bushes to hide visibility. Teams prerun using their gps's to find the fast lines. Their navigator marks all dangers, lefts, rights ect, so the driver can haul ass. Big rock/boulders, roots, trees ect are marked on the gps during prerunning. So, afters everyone was done prerunning is when Toby got in his canam, drove out on the course and set all the boulders in the lines the top teams would be taking. Yes, they will hit them because during prerunning they weren't there! Booby traps! To your fellow competitors for god sake, Fukking wild shit!!
well, it is Toby Price, Former Red Bull KTM multi time Dakar champion caught booby trapping race course in a pretty big off road race which was won by SLR Honda team who also runs a supper cross team and currently running The Ultimate Rider contest. So kinda relevant hahah
Man, that is kinda heavy . . . I don't know that I have heard of someone doing that before. Disappointing. Glad no one got hurt.
If accusations are true, he's going to fucking hell.
If not true, the 'accusators' are going to fucking hell!
So a few here have nothing better to do than cry, whine, bitch and moan about this not being moto related ??
Moto karens.
From the video I saw, some people walk up to him as he's crouched behind his vehicle, say "no way, not you", he says "what", they turn the camera off, then there's pictures of rocks on the course.
Was he on the course when he shouldn't have been? Because aside from that, the video I saw doesn't really amount to much as far as evidence.
I know, I can't quite make out what is happening, except is Toby Price hiding?
