Purely conjecture, but this seems like a classic case of hiring a guy because he has the right experience and knowledge, and then refusing to ACTUALLY listen to him.
Hopefully he goes on one of the podcasts and tells all.

This is much closer to reality from what is going around the school yard playground.
Not surprised. Mike clearly has an ego problem, hence the need to feel like he has all the power and show his authority with all these dumb rulings to show he is the man that controls the results.
He probably told Ezra, you only listen to me. I am the boss. Your opinion does not matter.
Lewis says the blame shouldn’t be put on Pelletier but it should he is the man responsible for the final decision. And since he’s been here he has made a career on wanting to be the center of attention. So many precedent changing decisions…
And it’s worked. He got what he wanted. Everyone knows him and he’s now the AMA team manager.
Ezra is probably tired of know it all people online blaming him for every mistake because he is the only name they know. He is/was literally one guy and wasn’t even in a decision making role. He was the liaison between the AMA and the riders. He was trying to help.
The anger should be pointed at Mike Pelletier who is too afraid to announce or talk about the decisions he is approving because he “got death threats” about taking a lap away from Jett hitting the gate. Pelletier should stop hiding and acting like a pussy. Make common sense decisions and people will understand.

Yogi has never seemed to me to be the “ tell all “ kind of guy. I wish he would shed some light on his AMA stay, but I do not see that happening.
The elephant in the room is that every motorsports governing body in the world has been bad mouthed, is currently badmouthed and I would venture to say will always be badmouthed. The world is what it is, not what we want it to be…
Given this vetted data, I have always wondered why any would want to consider being part of a governing body unless you are penny-less.

It’s not only to motorsports, name one sport where the officials calls are backed up and liked by the fans and players

Never underestimate the desire to control others. Lot of people will put up with anything if it means they get power.
My dad still gets AMA renewals and it has a sticker inside saying Charter Member and he was AMA from the ‘60s to probably 2010. And the renewal isnt free. They still want money even though it says Charter Member
You're kidding right? Three bad weekends and Mr calm, composed, mild mannered, soft spoken Whitlock is the better choice? Please tell me you're kidding.
I remember Yogi on PulpMX talking about Levi Kitchen breaking "the cardinal rule" of taking himself out when he took out Deegan. It didn't sound like he was against aggressive riding but that seemed like it was the line. I wonder if that was the catalyst for Evan Ferry's excessive penalty.
From what I can see, the AMA has taken a further dive down under Mike Pelletier. At least we know that the buck should stop with him, but he seems to hide in the background.

Maybe it says something about those who want to govern others and the vetting process that happens as you get closer to the point at the top.

Not unlike a home plate umpire for baseball......I can think your strike-zone is bullshit, but if you stay consistent with your bullshit strike-zone then we are good to go. If you consistently change your strike-zone, then players are going to be afraid to swing.
Can jump on red lights, can't jump on red lights, can be aggressive for last qualifying spot, can't be aggressive for last qualifying spot......Standby the rule until the end of the season & THEN make the adjustments.
The Deegz call was his last straw with the AMA 😂😂

At this rate Whitlock would be better

no, so we can read the penalty like this "Supercross lites class leader, penalized for crossing over track barriers in the lites class"
im good lol
Typical of high level riders and why they don’t often become officials
Being a rider is a very different skill set to being an offical

I hope he speaks up about this at some stage.

Off topic…but how did Lusk get that nickname?
Putting out fires ?
I thought it was because he was a hairy little baby, and they started calling him Yogi Bear, then it just stuck. I could be wrong.
My biggest issue is the inconsistency -
