This is an embarrassment of epic proportions! Every  media personality should be all over this and pressing the AMA for an answer.

It was military appreciation night, they couldnt let the Japanese rider win because it would send the wrong message.

Where did you find this? AMA has not released the post-race penalty report for Arlington on their site yet.

Correct. The most recently posted penalty report is Seattle.

Also in the post race interviews here on vital, Brown apparently said he "didn't visually see it". Maybe, maybe not. It's his responsibility to see it and take appropriate action though. He failed to do so.

Before I started my business, I worked for a very large company and this is literally what they did instead of giving raises.

Joe is now on their watch list for his wheels leaving the ground on a red light.

What an embarrassment for the AMA. This is entirely inconsistent with how they've applied the red cross flag/lights before. They've literally handed out penalties to riders that had plausible deniability that they didn't see the flag in time. What a disgrace.

Then they should definitely let the Japanese rider win seeing as how Japan has basically been a giant U.S. military base since '45.

No. You can’t do this. The fairest result would be following the rule book penalizing whoever jumped on the lights.

It’s not just the fairest result, it’s the only viable result.  The AMA must explain how they came to this conclusion.  Not that it will be an acceptable explanation, but they deserve every and all criticism coming their way.

Came to what conclusion? Has an official announcement been made?

The light shouldn’t have ever been on! Brown gets the win, Jo receives the same points as Brown.

Are you not at all concerned about what the rule book says should happen? Do you really want the standard for making these decisions to be "it feels right" ?

No need to get emotional Kenny. It doesn’t matter that the light shouldn’t have been on. It was and Jo followed the rules other riders didn’t.

Next race Jason Anderson will be controlling the lights.

WTF AMA????? How do you make this right??

This is all on the AMA, Feld has nothing to do with it. It would be nice to get a new sanctioning body and give the AMA the boot, at least you dont see the AMA logo much anymore.

Fittingly the AMA clown show is promoted and managed by Feld, a circus oriented business.

Not emotional at all, I wasn’t in the race. 😂

Light shouldn’t have been turned on. The fastest guy won the race. It’s unfortunate what happened, but that’s the way it goes sometimes.

So the riders are supposed to guess if the red light they're coming up on is justified or not? Can I assume all traffic lights are actually malfunctioning from now on?

This makes way more sense than give Jo first place points.

So they are saying that the lights Jo checked up for are ‘warning lights’ not the same as Red Cross?

Kinda seems like they are making it up as they go.
