What’s more frustrating is the people, probably many of the folks who downvoted this, who won’t admit to themselves or others that they’re racist. Just own it. Saves everyone time. My dad has said the N word regarding black people in recent years and told me “I’m not racist that couldn’t be further from the truth.” He’s not unlike many Americans and MAGA men.
Fine line between prejudice and racism. All of us evaluate a person by their appearance before the first word is spoken, whether it’s clothing, tattoos, or skin color. That’s prejudice/stereotyping. Racism steps in when those same people hold onto those assumptions regardless of what comes next. When ethnic origin is THE primary evaluator, it edges closer to the R word.
You seem highly intelligible. If you remove the reluctance to sound “woke” or “left” and look at it just purely objective, many many trump supporters have massive distaste for black and brown people. That’s the reality. And they admit it to their white friends. I’ve been in the truck with them or at lunch with them or in the locker room. I’m not fabricating it. We all know if we remove our bias of defending our idea of what’s happening that supports our “side” vs what is objectively happening.

No. I’m a Non-MAGA conservative. There are millions of people like me who were previously classified as right wing, but not by today’s militant standards.
I grew up in the Deep South (confederate flag belt buckle included). But I never understood the innate disdain of black people. My parents and relatives used the N word like one might say dog or cat. And many of my old friends do the same. While by no means did Trump create their prejudices, he did legitimize them.
