Why should someone spend precious conscious hours learning nebulous factoids about insignificant countries, where I will never go, and have zero effect on my life. The globe is covered in them, and I have better shit to do with my waking hours. Every one of us has a finite number of days to be alive and there is an infinite amount of crap to waste time on learning. All so I can parrot stuff back in an internet forum? I chose to use my remaining, priceless time for stuff that actually makes my life more enjoyable and/or effects me directly.
