Always been a fan of Matthes and Pulp, been a listener since the early days.
But holy cow the disrespect and dislike is off the rails. Made me lose a ton of respect for him.

I haven’t noticed anything particular. He seems to give pretty fair credit and criticism.
Although Prado moving over through rhythms is pretty horrid…
Can you point out specifics to lead you to this conclusion?
From what I’ve taken from Matthes content, it’s all factual questions, which could be taken as “hate”.
He praised him when he podiumed , and criticised him when he gave up at nationals last year , i don’t see the hate personally

Listening to the pulp show on Monday, no mention of his third place performance in the second moto, no mention that he was one position away from leading going into the final moto, not a mention about him having the best sector in the whoops, and when making predictions about next weekend he said 8.
It was his eleventh SX race…
I think the moving over was lack of experience/supercross etiquette, it's very similar to what they do in the GPs and I feel like he gave Hunter enough room so it wasn't too bad, although I fully understand why people consider it objectionable.

Who cares? Why does it matter if a journalist likes a rider or a rider likes a journalist?
Man sometimes it feels like Prado’s fanbase is as soft as he is when things don’t go their perceived way. Downvote button is on the right.
Show some receipts of what you are claiming is happening.
In this day and age, if you don’t praise every aspect of a rider, you must hate them, got it.
I don't agree with this, I think his analysis has been pretty spot on. It's not his job to report on each riders best laps or segments. He gave him plenty of props after his A1 podium.

I think a few things are true here
Steve is pretty objective and his takes are substantiated without a ton of bias most of the time.
Prado gave up, Steve says that he gave up and doesn’t respect it. Prado podiums, Steve said congrats and that he’s surprised and impressed like many of us.
He does seem to dislike himself a fair bit and is pessimistic often.
He doesn’t seem to report things based on who he “likes or dislike”. Ex. He doesn’t care for a lot of Deegans tactics but will give Deegan props when he has a dominant ride.
He seems to report things that a lot of people won’t and we live in a world where if objective truth is something someone disagrees with, they call it opinion.
Unfortunately we seem to live in an era where too many people try to escape inconvenient truth by calling it “hate” and the messengers “haters.”
Matthes cannot afford to have the Deegan camp ignore his media outlet. Currently, they won’t really give him the time of day. For Matthes, Duffe could be the proverbial bridge across troubled waters. Obvious and disingenious. I’m sure Duffe knows what’s up—-Brian damn sure does.

Ok. He got third at A1. He’s won two heat races. This was far from his most successful race.
So while you can pull out specific accomplishments you felt were worth mentioning, you need to realise this is coming off the back of far bigger accomplishment that were talked about…. Soooo what a weird take.
I don't get the whole making of celebrities of people whose only achievement is reporting on other people's excellence. Other than his topics of discussion Matthes is basically some middle-aged childless dude obsessed with the sphere - whatever that is. What does 4 time world champ Prado give any shits about what nothing Matthes thinks.

I used to watch every episode, now not so much. He became the focal point of eveything. I don't care about his bike tests, etc.
If Prado rode a Yamaha Pulp would love him.
