3/24/2026 9:04am I sell a neat book at wewentfast.com/shop that's about the 1972 World Motocross Season. I see you're in New Zealand so it would cost a lot to send down there but I've definitely sent quite a few copies to Australia. If anything, you'd probably enjoy the story behind the man who wrote the book (also available as a podcast, search "We Went Fast" in your podcast player).

3/18/2026 7:47am Aftermarket triple clamps, for my use case on KTMs, is largely due to the sub-par (my opinion) design of the KTM steering head. Take a look at how the KTM is designed - everything is held together by that little pinch bolt on the top of the steering stem. A big "no thank you" for me on that - I'll go with the Japanese design you can get on aftermarket clamps every day of the week.

3/16/2026 5:24am It's definitely har to find a motocross bike that's as difficult as some street and ATV ,but I'm sure the Ducati is going to make this thread when a customer attempts a valve adjustment. For fun I'll leave this for you guys

3/16/2026 5:24am 2010 YZ450F, no way that a dirt bike should have 10 pieces of bodywork...and nothing ever lined up...it was like working on a Gold Wing 1978 CB750K, getting the carbs in and out without skinning fingers or tearing an airbox boot...and then syncing them. Good times

DJS721 Added a reply to Have we ever seen such a dramatic turn around between 2 riders and manufacturers?
2/24/2026 7:23am To the OP's original question, consider Mickey Diamond. 1985 on Husqvarna, finished 15th on the 250 for the season. Signs with Honda for 1986 and becomes an immediate contender and wins the 125 championship. Dramatic turnaround. That's all I got...

2/12/2026 5:49am Ohio here also, summer and fall we always saw a couple Starks, more than one Beta, and more than one Triumph (250, there is a good dealer in NEO) at the local tracks. Never spotted a Ducati yet. Otherwise, we see an uptick in Kawasaki and Honda where it was almost always Yamaha and Austrian, seems like they are being...

2/11/2026 7:40am Watching the first rider(s) jump the Suicide Mountain step up at the Saddleback National 1984. I was 15, standing at the base of the first ledge with hundreds of other spectators during practice. You could hear every rider approaching ( you could not see them coming up the ledge, it was too steep) but each rider would shut off as they got close to the top of the first ledge. Then one 500cc rider (Eric Eaton if my memory is accurate) didn't shut off and launched probably 30' straight up over our heads to clear the next ledge going up...

2/10/2026 5:07am Pro Racing: High Point 2007, when Carmichael flat landed the last jump on the old Bradshaw Blvd to jump over James, the "THUD" from the landing I felt in my chest it was so harsh...it's like Ricky was possessed to not let James beat him that day. I was standing right near that jump when he hit the ground, it...
