With the amount of times they force these NASCAR drivers into the broadcast, I’m curious if anyone here is a crossover fan?

Plenty of core fans follows other motorsports but NASCAR is not one of them…

No, not even if someone would pay me for it.

If it's on and not much else and it's not like 50 of 250.  Give me the first 15 and the last 15 I'm good.

I find it really stupid racing in a circle/oval for 200 laps.

Not really nascar outside maybe daytona 500, love some of the other car stuff like imsa which has hypercars & gt3's race on the road oval course at Daytona for 24hrs, from time to time there are some crossovers between all these racing sports which is cool to see

(Like Plessinger went on the podcast show of Dale jr)

I find the constant promotion annoying. I was pretty sure most Moto people don't follow car racing. I never remember once in decades of racing moto. Ever having or hearing a single conversation in the pits or riding practice about nascar or any other form of car racing. Snow cross a few times. But I live in Minnesota and rode with sponsored pro Snow cross guys.

I have never had any interest in anything with 4 wheels, don't know why just never have.

It can actually be fairly interesting watching how the cars handling changes as the laps mount or if a change fixes a car. That being said I rarely watch anymore. The changes to get more fans have basically ruined the sport. I watch Daytona every year but last year I turned on an end of the season race and as soon as I heard The Diff, I turned the channel.

Stopped when they went to the stupid format.

Not as easy to watch in the UK as it was, i am not keen enough to pay , but will probably pay for Flo to watch Tulsa Shootout/ Chili Bowl and sprint car/ Late Model racing.

No issue if the guy is a bike guy , or if he is a fan of the sport, whats the issue.

Never, personally.

If there's crossover, it's gotta be motogp and/or f1, right?

I used to, before my mom passed, that was her favorite thing and I needed to keep up with what was going on so we could have some great conversations.  But that was over a decade ago.

I do watch Formula 1 though.  And with Cadillac coming in, someone new to root for.

Your results for this are going to heavily depend on age and demographics.  At 52,  I was raised with moderate interest in watching the racing, but it was not a lifestyle or anything like that - no different than casually watching football on Sundays.  I think folks who have attended a race in person appreciate it a lot more, it is a very different experience sitting in the stands and makes it a little more enjoyable to follow the sport a bit, even if just casually to see how championships wind down, just like watching football, you don't have to watch every game to know how the season is going.

I think it is dying on the younger generations though, the digital age and short attention spans only see cars going in circles, not the amount of teamwork happening, the adjustments, the aggression and anger (drama), if you pay attention, there is a lot more going on than cars going in circles.   But..  you have to have mild interest to even bother.  NASCAR has tried to promote to different demographics, different cultures, different regions and tracks, changed up the series, the cars, I guess they haven't done a very good job - some changes have definitely pushed their core fan base away (I have definitely not been a fan of some changes).  People do not enjoy car racing (in general) as much as they used to.

They still don't know that 4 wheel enthusiasts and 2 wheel enthusiasts are largely different types of people.

I have literally never watched it, even at the height of its popularity.
I do like it though when they bring in someone like a football player who doesn’t have a lot of knowledge of the sport but when they interview them, they’re usually like, “damn this is sick” I like seeing new fans appreciate the sport.

I think if Feld is really trying to use these guys for marketing, like “look at these stars here watching our races!” They should do a quick shot of all the celebrities and athletes at the race like they do with shots of the crowd in stick and ball sports. No interviews or anything, just show them on camera and move on. Stay focused on the race and the athletes competing in the race.

I didn't see the "What's a NASCAR?" option. Is he related to Oscar?

In my local area, on the radio they will cut to Nascar to play it LIVE during their season.  OMG it's sooo boring!  I can not get to the radio fast enough to change the station. I'm always reminded of the South Park Nascar episode.  "I'm gonna go real fast, and then I'm gonna turn left"  Hilariously accurate.

NASCAR in person is quite an event. NASCAR on TV isn't.

I watched religiously from the early days when they were first televised the races. When they built TMS, I went to every race, and worked many of them. But like Phil said, they've managed to screw it up, and I have lost interest in anything but Daytona and Talladega, and the road races.

I don't miss an F1 or Indy race, and watch most IMSA events. I also watch Sail GP, so, whatever...

I haven’t missed a cup race in years. I enjoy watching it ,especially Daytona, Talladega, Martinsville, Darlington, Bristol, Dover,  Richmond, Indy and all the road course’s.

NASCAR is dead.

It killed itself.

I used to follow it casually. Once the generation of drivers i knew retired I quit paying attention. Never followed closely enough to keep an eye on the new talent or develop an interest in them.

IMG 4245 1.jpeg?VersionId=nGVr3zrz1DFIisGgpUsed to watch all the time. I’ve been to every track within driving distance for me. Atlanta, Daytona, Talledega, Martinsville, Bristol, Charlotte, and Darlington. Bristol and Martinsville were my favorites but I hardly ever watch anymore. They watered it down, regulated it, and  pretty much ruined it. Jeff Gordon was the beginning of the end. When Dale Earnhardt died, so did Nascar.
