 Yes, for a while we dominated the world economically and in many places culturally as well, but it wasn't enough. We gave them too long a leash and look what they've done. Their sphere of influence has grown too large and it now threatens our position at head of the table.

 We've sat idle and incapacitated by bureaucracy, concerns for non-productive and non-beneficial cultures and societies, and far too much concern for the sovereignty for other nations for too long.  

We've really lost our edge internationally and this move on Venezuela is a bid to regain power over the western hemisphere, but its not enough. We must secure Greenland and Brazil. We cannot afford to allow Brazil to continue their alliance with Russia, China, and Iran.

I'm finding these threads a bit weird to read through to be honest, there's a lot of misrepresentation of what people actually have posted going on from the usual crew who only seem to be able to look at things through the prism of their 'side' in US politics. No-one is going to shed a tear over Maduro being gone really, but it's perfectly legitimate to ask the question "what's your plan here Donald?". 

Maduro's regime wasn't just him. He built the military around him, the legal system, the electoral system. The Venezuelan judiciary, town and regional governors etc all were put in place to support Maduro and enrich themselves in the process. Like all dictatorships, he was propped up by a network who kept him there because he kept them fat and wealthy. Pulling the head off the snake but leaving all that in place does nothing for ordinary Venezuelan people because all that infrastructure is left, so unless there's some huge-scale bribery and reform going on to gradually phase all that out, the chances of Venezuela breaking down to chaos rather than getting back on the 'right' path remains significant. 

Keeping the Russians contained to Russia, China on the right path to maintaining Taiwan's right to self-determination etc I'm all in favour of. I can respect the argument this keeps Russia and China out of South America, how you guys want to try and mange all that is entirely up to you... But right now you are threatening Greenland which is sovereign territory of a country you call an ally. Removing Maduro because he's not a nice guy and doesn't align to US interests, why can't China now legitimately claim the same thing and remove the government of Taiwan? Meanwhile, Russia can now legitimately say "well we are just protecting what we think is our bubble of influence in Ukraine too so how about you fuck off telling us to not keep bombing civilian infrastructure and kidnapping children in Ukraine?". 

As I said. What's the plan here Donald and how are you going to demonstrate you've got this right while not basically giving Russia and China carte blanche to do whatever they like elsewhere? Apologies for quoting you on this one Manny but you're among the more reasonable posters so I figured I'd stand a decent shot getting something sensible back.

Have you watched videos of the crowds celebrating his removal? Where do you get your information? If I were you I would probaly get a little more balanced  sources so you may know the truth about what's really going on. The Venezuelan people overwhelmingly support this action to get Maduro out. He was not leagally elected.
