Given that, go ET3! I kind of think he is owed some good fortune for that achilles injury.

If Jett's out I'd love to see Eli get this.  But, my wiener would poke out if Kenny won it as well.

A broken talus is the worst bone you can break in your ankle. Very poor blood supply to that bone and it’s crucial for proper ankle mobility. There is no way he will be back in 12 weeks.

This seems like the kinda event that gives Webb that little glint and smile.

Clarify, because some are a bit dense.  He is the ultimate at taking advantage of situations.  I don't think for a minute he wants people to get injured.

That's an ugly injury.  Non-weight bearing for 8 weeks with complete recovery 6-9 months.  Most likely a wasted year for him.

I’m going through the same exact injury. My surgery was August 15.
I can hardly walk any distance at all, and it is with a very, very prominent lamp. Doctor said it would be a year before I could get up and walk across the room without thinking about it.

im afraid this is going to be long tough recover for Jett, he may not even make any supercross rounds.

One thing to note, it is the internet era where minutes feel like weeks. People can harp on “why isn’t the media telling us” but we got an official announcement within 24 hours. What happened, happened. The news break coming out now vs 12 hours ago really makes no difference.

I feel like we all can get a little spoiled or entitled to information the moment it happens.

Didn’t he have a similar injury before A1 on 250s and then go East?

I thought that was his arm/collar bone. Could be wrong though.

Surgery on the talus means hardware. Hardware on that particular bone is worst case scenario.

I believe you, but that's kinda why the conspicuous silence made me think there was something to it. If it was all BS your sources would just tell you that and you'd pass it along. Happens all the time. So when you don't get that from any of the insiders.....

15 years old: shattered talus, broken calcaneus, broken navicular compound fractured tibia, multiple broken metatarsals...broken humerus (broke the head of the humerus off as I dislocated my shoulder), along with some other minor shoulder damage and internal bleeding from being landed on. No weight bearing for 10 or so weeks (with 14 external pins in my ankle and foot), rode again at just over 16 weeks, I believe. This, without the resources Jett has at his disposal. While I agree it's a shitty injury, it's not impossible to be back in 12 weeks.

I was a little suspicious, but if I had any real info on it being true, I would've had a video ready just in case. Instead, I cut my last-minute Christmas shopping short to run home and record the injury video for YouTube right after the news broke from Jett's own IG.

so basically with the little research I did on google + plus reading ML’s experience, Jett should be fine for outdoors barring any set back , not too bad , nobody wants to see anybody get hurt but this how sports goes, pat mahomes & Micah parsons tore their acl’s last weeks game , now Jett have another injury before the SX , u can always count on some type of injury to a superstar in pro sports 🤦🏾‍♂️

Same experience as you, long healing, and it bothered me and hurt like forever.

This plain sucks.

My left ankle: Talus, Tib, Fib…all “reworked” (reshaped, if you will…think spurs and chipped edges) bi-lat lig re-attach and they had to steal a tendon from one of my toes for good form. Lots of fun little “drilling” (microfractures) and some stems for good luck…just this last April. It’s doing pretty damn well and I even “snuck out to SLC” right after to see Dean race the HRC scooter in early May. I was STOKED to get back on my eMTB in July…mildly, of-course! More recently, 2 new knees…(left on 10/30 and right was Thursday 12/18). And know this…I’m old, fat and slow…all things “Opposite Jett”! 🤣

With that in mind, I can see Jett pulling this off. He’s young and like I’ve been saying…

A total bad ass.

He’s got this. Hell, he’ll probably show up for The Outdoors stronger and healthier than normal. The dudes not from Earth. He’s part of The Marvel Universe. After-all…

That’s why they’ve got that damn stadium Down Unda!

I think Josh Coppins had a very bad injury at his Talus, but I should check it. I know one of his ankles where fused after that injury.

Yep. I have a talar dome lesion from a rolled ankle years ago that ended distance running for me. I was putting in 60 miles a week on the trails and loved it. Otherwise known as an OCD, osteochondral defect, they don't heal. I wear custom orthotics now to keep it from throbbing and traded my running shoes for a mountain bike.

The bottom line for a savvy fan is to know that whoever lines up on the gate is who matters.  Injuries have always been a big player in cships.   When the ground reaches up and grabs ya...it don't care how badass you are.  You get lucky or you don't.

My fantasy football app tells me when a player almost shit his pants during practice sprints. A player has the sniffles and it’s put out there and labeled as “questionable” to play.

I know SMX is like hop scotch compared to the NFL, but gambling is part of it now and they really need to do a better job of being more transparent.

Lucky you. Broke the ankle at 28, then again at 33.

First time, coming short on an SX track, was "okay", long pin in the foot, three months before having it off and some recurring pain... That second time, very painful surgery, I loved the external pins and rods so much I kept them for nine months, and the crutches for nine more. I still had them to walk in the pits the first few times I raced again. Tib absolutely shattered by a car didn't help. Broke two head fins on my HD with my bone, the surgeon gave them back to me in a tiny bottle, saying "Good news, I found parts from your bike".  Lots of cartilage destroyed, developped a nice arthritis, the ankle is toast, I have a very sexy limp on bad days, lol.

Jett's young and has the best solutions available, he'll be good, hopefully.

I'm gonna sound like the total fanboï, but I miss him already. I don't care much for who's second best.

I broke my talus 5 years ago and it’s in pain every day. It’s throbbing right now as I type this because I walked up and down a steep hill today. 😩

For context, while downhill mountain biking in 2020 I shattered part of my talus, broke my navicular and shattered my cuboid along with the top of my heel. Also completely severed two of the tendons. My doctor sewed the tendons back together, re-anchored one back into what was left of my navicular and pinned my cuboid back together. The fragments from the talus and calcaneus were just taken out because they were too small to be pinned.
