Came across this on marketplace. Seller claims it’s a Carmichael race motor from the goat farm.

$4k for a (nearly) 20 year old practice engine?! What are these people smoking (edit) it’s the whole bike? It said motor but still. That’s a lot
He has a full list of serious buyers, but none paying his asking price, 🙄
It actually said a full list (of mods) for serious buyers.
Is it for real?…
Hmmm…. Right off the bat I was very doubtful about this being Ricky’s motorbike, however after seeing the R/C Practice sticker on the cover, well I believe it may be the GOAT’s practice rig. Those stickers are VERY difficult to reproduce !
The Shop

Luxon 4-Post Bar Mounts
$189.95 - $239.95
I stand corrected.
Plus, the engine is caked in dirt / looks well used yet the clutch cover looks in good condition. Even several moto's of use would have it scuffed up fairly well.
...I saw photos of the Goat farm work building before Carmichael sold it.
Worn out motors thrown everywhere in the trees and brush areas around the building. This motor could have been sitting in water and dirt for years.
Other than a questionable collector's item, it has no practical use for anyone actually wanting to install in a a working motorcycle I think...
I was thinking the same thing. Looks like it’s in way too good of shape for all the shit they had laying around. Clutch cover not even a slight mark.
In this day and time it could be full blooded bullshit.
I guess a wannabe collector might see some value in it buts its worth what you can get out of it. If you turned around to sell it the next day!
I want to know what the "authenticity paper" is, and what it says. Did Big Rick write something up saying it came from the farm, and that RC used it? And if so, how do you prove that's authentic? The magazine article is obviously the MXA article/video from a few years ago, but that doesn't verify anything other than RC had a shitload of bike parts laying around the property.
That clutch cover is hard anodize and would hold up well
Looks like inner clutch cover is magnesium
Looks like some Ti hardware
Not sure how much good stuff practice engines got, but I don’t think it’s totally out of the question that it’s a legit practice/spare engine
Yeah I wouldn’t assume there would be much wear even with a good bit of hours in it but this one looks like zero.
Yeah, I’ve seen this motor at the original owners shop. It was just sitting there because at the end of the day it’s old and needs to be rebuilt with parts you’re not getting anymore. But it does have magnesium cases.
Needs to clean the dirt from under his fingernail.
Since the intake or exhaust port are not even plugged, I guess there's as much dust inside (whatever actually is inside) than outside...
THE FIRST THING I NOTICE WITH THE BIKE IS THE MAKITA GRAPHICS WHICH RC DIDNT USE DURING THAT TIME. HE ALWAYS HAD DIFFERENT GRAPHICS FEATURING MONSTER ENERGY
Interesting... So the only trick bitz is in the motor as the rest of the bike is a stock RMZ, which looks pretty clean. Probably a bit rich for a resto, especially with a motor that even when fully cleaned up, might not be a runner without putting in non trick parts. Kind of cool collector, but not super cool...
This thing reminds me of my buddy in high school who had an early-80s Honda civic with “5.0” badges on the fenders and “Mustang” across the rear hatch…
Pit Row
If the motor is in good working condition, without the ecu and pipe, would it even run right?
Probably ok with a decent off the shelf pipe, but I seriously doubt it would run well without mapping/aftermarket ECU.
IF it’s what they claim it is…
I didn’t realize P-Touch was a sponsor.
WTF are you on about?
Find me a picture of RC in 2005..
YEAH RIGHT
Hey ML, thats how you bottom out A-Kit suspension 😉
You people are never going to let him live that down, are you?
Could buy it just to set the magnesium on fire.
What boots does he have on? Honestly don't remember what he wore, assumed Fox
Berik
What would you do with that engine? It's probably clapped out
