.. what was it likeky to have been? A simple spring rate alternative or more than that?

Was he on air or spring? I know that some of Star are running the PSF-1 forks.
He got a good deal on some fresh stuff from our new member mrlogan419.
Just the simple fact that they did it shows he's not happy with the setup. Hopefully he goes out in the warmup tomorrow and says it's way better.
I’m guessing Eli has 2 or 3 set-ups to choose from.

What is interesting about this, at MXoN, each rider can have two bikes.. Two (however) different setups. If they were taking big swings, I don't know why they didn't go this route. Maybe they did and I am unaware, but it doesn't make sense if they didn't go this route in the first practice this morning.
I guess we need a super secret spy pic ? Got it.
I believe they went into practice with option A and option B knowing they had 40 minutes to work it out. Eli has been struggling to find comfort on this bike all year (not saying it’s the bike’s problem) but I’m not really that surprised he’s still trying to find the best setup for himself.
Just goes to show Eli’s commitment- leaving no stone unturned even though it’s likely his last race on the bike.
I applaud the effort. However,… it shows they still don’t have that bike figured out. I don’t think he has ever looked good outdoors on the 23+ YZ. Certainly not consistent. Just never flows.
I really hope KTM suits him.
Eli can't eat with that fork.
I don't think most people understand what variations can be achieved with valving. Clickers are just the tip of the iceberg. Base valve to midvalve ratio can have a huge effect on the speed vs force curve. Digressive, progressive, linear. ICS spring isn't discussed much, but my friends that raced SX say that's one of the most important changes. Clickers don't really do much in the big picture.
Put him back on the 2022 Yamaha. He looked far better outdoors on that bike than anything since.
Just wanted black kyb stickers.
Not to mention Maxime Renaux running the '22 frame this year and other Yamaha riders saying they wish they could.
He said that’s a rumor and he’s not running a ‘22 frame. Although his works frame has some of the characteristics of the ‘22 frame.
It’s not a rumor.

Kyb red. . . And kyb black . . .
Letttssgoo!
Not sure why he’d lie. But ok
seems like he's been searching all summer. Ferrandis said the new gen was worse outdoors, I wonder if Eli thinks the same.
Surprised he never hopped on the 2026 chassis this summer, supposed to be more like the 2022. With the bodywork being interchangeable you'd think it'd be an easy thing to do.
No rain for 2 months makes for some tricky dirt conditions in the Midwest.
Maybe Yamaha doesn’t like to admit they took a step backwards to consumers?
To keep Yamaha happy
I guess racing all summer and once on the same track was not enough testing. Wait until he starts racing the KTM. 😂
Maybe he wanted to test TBT’s new settings from the dealer meeting in Vegas? 😂
