I would be stunned if Brian lets Haiden ride. Brian is a big picture guy and racing hurt at the MXoN is not going to do anything to help his kid right now.

In a perfect world, JCoop should fill in for Sexton before RJ. RJ is still a solid replacement, and JCoop can replace any of the three if need be. Sucks for him, but in this situation, he is the perfect backup rider for the team.

Someone needs to pull the chute on Deegan and end this drama. We only have 8 days! He's hurt which gives the AMA perfect cover to give him what he deserves which is a seat on the sidelines.

Deegan had 2 opportunities to go but deferred because it wasn’t on American soil. He shouldn’t be given a third chance especially with a plated collarbone. I’m not American but I would have sent jcoop over deegan. Jc doesn’t think he’s bigger than motocross and has had a solid year!

Probably a PR move by Dangerbag and co. Try to go out and win the MXON so everyone forgets about the hillbilly attempt at winning SMX.

Yea…maybe…but this is very high stakes at this point.  If deegan doesn’t do well, then they will try to blame it on the collarbone ect. in some whiny ass way.  At that point they will have lost the vast majority of the core fans pretty much forever.  Vegas douchbag + screwing team USA = double sh’#head moves.  He literally HAS to do well to try to reclaim some minor level of core fans.

Jcoops video is “official” enough for me that he was first pick. I wish they would say why it changed. Either way, go USA!

JCoop has a better record than RJ, although RJ exceeded expectations this year. I am guessing they are doing it because RJ said he WON'T ride a 250 and JCoop will as a backup rider. AMA reneging on Cooper in favor Deegan is wrong. If they told Cooper he was in - then he's in.

Even if Deegan was fresh and ready, he doesn’t deserve to represent Team USA after all his antics Saturday.

Sorry no sorry. I was all in on seeing him ride for USA but not after Saturday.

Pure patriotism on Deegan's part.

It has nothing to do with that fact that he desperately needs to repair his brand's reputation.

Putting the current controversy aside, this feels like the 2006 MXdN when RC injured himself at the last round and Tedesco ended up being the stand-in because both RC and Ivan were with factory Suzuki (part of that was the logistics of getting the bike to England).  RC eventually determined he couldn't overcome the his injury and Ivan filled in even though he had missed most of the summer with his own injuries (he managed pretty well under the circumstances).

If Deegan doesn't perform well it's only going to ratchet up things further, that's for sure.

How long do they have to replace a rider, until the first practice? J-Coop is the best backup we have if something happens between now and next week.

Good luck to everyone

So, this year he can race two weeks after a collarbone, but last year he needed to take the time off to prepare for A1 in three months?

Sure, kid.

I’d hope Deegs and JCoop ride together early next week.  With both kinda being signed up.  If one is off. Pick the other,

j coop can also fill in on a 450 if say anyone got hurt in practice this next week

Good on him for stepping up

I would have liked to see this whole thing be a lesson to deegan that his actions have consequences. Unfortunately that doesn't appear to be the case.

Get real. That asshole has never thought of anyone but himself.

All I know is Deegan feeds off the haters and he has never had this much fuel. Should be a good time.

With Kawasaki's MXoN policy does this mean this year was Sexton's last opportunity? Or does Kawasaki change their policy? I can't imagine Chase not finishing his career with Kawasaki, it must be a three year contract?

Good luck to everyone

The rules state that teams can replace any rider up until the end of technical inspection on the Friday. So before any riding at the event.

Had VIP tickets purchased as soon as they were available, was disappointed by the track at the national this year and it took some of the excitement away. Ended up canceling tickets a few weeks ago because closing on house that week and it just wasn't going to work, but gotta tell you I'm glad it all worked out that way. No desire to spend that kind of money to go watch Deegan sideshow tarnish an event I love. Not the kind of guy I want representing my country. Would rather lose with jcoop, although I'm not convinced he's worse option than immature freshly plated collar bone Deegan anyway.
