Adapting to: New tracks, New Tires, New Suspension, New Frame, New Country, Acclimation to the Weather, acclimation to the Food, acclimation to the Lifestyle, acclimation to the way of race day is going, acclimation of how races are build up (straight the fastest laps from the start) ... Prado has nothing to deal with.
Let me write down a brutal statement: Put him on a stock Kawasaki bike with MoTec ECU and his choice of suspension and he will race in front. It is indeed not the bike and if we look back at how he can ride I would say also not the rider...
Tomac on the kawi ?
Get me 25k off that Red Bull deal 1st. To get Americans on there feet again in AX . And for the post race parties to get American chics in Tube tops again.
A little sharp but I agree on all the factors. I think the bike is just one of those changes in the mix that is overloading him.

Anderson got podiums in SX this and last year on that scooter, he also beat Prado regularly before his illness outdoors this year. For that matter, Mitchell Harrison on a privateer Kawasaki has beat Prado at times. As far as Kawasaki's history of winning, they have won since John Desoto and Brad Lackey. Kawasaki has thousands of employees with billions of dollars of international sales, building everything from scooters to weapons of war. Of course if Jorge states Kawasaki doesn't know what they are doing could be doubtable. His performances put his statements to doubt.
Lol, so much hate sarcasm in this thread. If it was Tomac, who gave up last week riding like a spode, you'd all be blaming Yamaha. Oh wait, last week y'all you 'mericans covered for him saying the bike was 💩.
And back to drinking cold Miller Light
No, I don’t enjoy bashing him. I was a big fan of having him come over. His own words are what has turned people off likely more than the results. If he can’t accept ANY share of the results what are we supposed to say? His performance is way beyond the bike.
Anderson is also not a multiple world MX champion. Is that the benchmark, for him to be around Anderson in MX for the money he is getting?
Man you're reaching so hard. When has Tomac raced back to 15th? Prado's laptimes got worse by 5-6 sec all the sudden. Dude is just straight up quiting. Why defend him?
They’ve won a shit ton of championships and race wins with Tomac, AC, and Anderson since Millsaps and Hahn, what do you mean? 😂😂😂 Anderson had podiums in sx this year and has had health issues the rest of the year. Anderson and AC didn’t win them titles, but they both got them podiums and wins.
Not many Americans having/had success in Europe. RV got thrashed and quit. He was on a Kawai, maybe it was the bike.
I’ve defended him so much but I think it’s time for something different. Whatever is going on just needs to stop
RV still managed to win a race. Not even in the same universe as far as comparisons go. Prado is back racing with plumbers and carpenters who have to be into work at 7am on Monday. Yes that was hyperbole but its not far off
😂😂😂
RV won his second race!
Don't forget the HVAC guys too
But that's not the case here, he went from 1st to 6th on the first lap of the first moto and then late in the moto when he got tired he lost a whole bunch more, 2nd moto he wasn't any better. This isnt a team or bike problem this is a rider problem pure and simple no matter how many excuses you all make for him.
Pit Row
I thought the KX was built arrived RV & his very ‘rear steer’ style.?
I don’t recall him complaining about the bike or the team. But other riders have. Even Eli.
i have a theory on Prado's struggles this year, and i think all the things you mention are factors,
i dont think he has had to be that good at setting up a bike, mainly because he hasn't had to be, hes been on KTM factory bikes that are the best in the class since he was on 125's, he went to factory mx2, then Decarli team that had so much data and expertise, ,
hes gone to the very different Kawi and has not been able to tell the team well enough what he needs, add in no decent lead in with injuries before the season, and then the shoulder leading to very little testing,
it seems to be worse on hard pack based tracks, Washougal and Unadilla were the worse, it was good to see him fight late in the moto today,
As much as I’d like to see that again, I believe that candle is burnt out
Gotta throw in them concrete boys too!!
How on earth is anyone still defending him at this point? Kawi should 100% bench him and wait for him to request to get out of contract or tell him to go away until October and they can start fresh. At the rate things are going do you really trust him to go out there and get around the SMX tracks without hurting himself. He didn't make it 3 rounds of SX without hurting himself and that was when there was still hope on both sides of the relationship and the wheels hadn't totally fallen off.
I wasn’t saying tomac back to Kawi, I was reminded old mate that kawi was successful with tomac
Also just occurred to me that you know this is an effort issue because as much as he's getting passed he's not even bothering to cross jump people or ride a wide bike anymore.
There simply can be no more excuses after today.
He wants out of his contract and his lack of effort is his resignation letter
wasn't very kawabunga of him
Well, since you asked…….
Donnie Schmit was the last stud to go over seas and do a flex down.
He was one determined guy. He took me out one time to get in front of me.
