Chase can shut up everyone by racing this weekend and beating Jett.
Concussions do have symptoms. I think the lack of transparency is the issue. I don’t think any normal person would bag on him if he was sitting out with lingering concussion symptoms. I’ve followed UCI downhill MTB rider Myriam Nicole’s comeback from head injury. She’s not racing this weekend because of lingering effects from a crash. This is known because she said so. Transparency helps.
Do you think that upon hearing this information, that Chase will be devastated knowing that he has lost all credibility with you?
You should've ended your statement at "weekend"

Can we not just be happy that we will have another rider out there that has the ability to run in the front pack?
Damn, drama central around here.
He’s been racing for championships non-stop, hasn’t missed a round in a long time. Supercross must have been brutal mentally, yes it was his own doing to put him in that spot.
Everytime he lines up he is expected to win, it’s a lot of pressure. With so many greats retiring young, and so many riders retiring hurt, a little break is good for him if it keeps him motivated and around longer. Regardless of the team/employer situation. People take paid stress leave all the time. ‘Lack of transparency’, who cares, he’s one of the most transparent riders and gets roasted for it all the time.
Guy has been criticised under the microscope all year, fuck it’s gotta be draining and make you sick of the sport.
I just want a refreshed motivated Chase on the gate. Guy is one hell of a rider, and great personality to have in the sport. He deserves an enormous fan base for his grit and determination - win or lose.
Also the whole thing is black-clouded by the team announcing that Chase is fine, will be back for next race, and Chase responding on social media, like: "Nope."
I don’t get the hate for Chase. Even on his social post it’s 50/50 hate love comments. No other rider seems to be that way.
yeaaaaa u just wait till deegs come up , the bedbugs vs the jetties is goona be nonstop arguing back n forth
It’s almost like if he wasn’t Midwest nice he would get more positive fan interaction. He’s fast (one of the only riders to give competition to Eli and Jett), takes blame when he makes a mistake and all but once he’s been open in interviews after having a bad race, yet he gets 💩 on by many fans. He would be better off just saying he would win if his bike was better…
Hope he does face this weekend. Don’t see him on the podium since guys are mid season form. Something’s been going on I don’t think his head just wasn’t in it. Hope I’m wrong and he’s up there from moto 1.
All I am saying is, if he would have put out a PR himself or together with KTM "hey guys, I hit my head at Pala and got a minor concussion, the team and I feel the best decision is to rest until the Dr gives me the ok." Everyone would have been like "heal up champ, go get 'em when you return!!!" Instead we got Ian saying that we will see him back at Southwick, then Chase basically calling Ian a liar. Its very easy for people to jump to all sorts of conclusions when what little info he gave was contradictory with the teams info. It just isnt a good look for our sport. Not much different then Milsaps and his locker or James and Tickle getting suspended and them never being given a reason or a timeframe from WADA. It just doesn't come across as professional and more Busch League.
To answer your question, NO, Chase probably couldn't care less what I think, but if you think for a second that the fan's and spectator's opinions don't matter, you're kidding yourself. The fans are literally all that matters in the end. The reason racing even exists is for the manufacturers, parts suppliers and aftermarket performance parts people to get their products into the face of the customer (the fans). Is it too much to ask that the teams and riders are a little more transparent with their audience?
When Anderson decided to sit out he didn’t receive this much flack. Did we ever really find out why? When Webb sat out of 22mx because he didn’t like the bike and then again in 23, not much anger there either. Chase leading up to this season has missed only 12 races in his career. Not bad in my opinion.
I would like to see every member of the media ask him on record what was wrong with him. Also ask the team on record. It probably won’t happen but it would be interesting to hear the response.
Saying Anderson didn’t receive much flack isn’t true at all, people were literally saying Kawasaki should fire him. Also Chase has done this before, in ‘23, so it makes sense people are starting to wonder what is going on. In my opinion, Chase deserves a break, but the commotion makes sense
That information is private, next question...
I can't think of any valid or justifiable reason for John Q. Public to disparage Chase. I haven't heard anything from the team/teammates/family or friends saying he's suddenly turned into some kind of turd. He's had his struggles...same as the rest. I'm rootin' for him.
IF you have had 3-4 previous concussions . . . there is no such thing as a "Minor concussion."
Pit Row
Lots and lots of information is private, yet lots of it get discussed here. No harm.
If they “didnt think he is that banged up”, maybe they didn’t..🤷♀️
Okay here me out... The exact same weekend that Herlings gets hurt, Sexton returns... Has anyone ever seen the two of them in the same room together?
These guys are racing for a team and have the dream job in the eyes of most moto fans. Lack of information just leads to speculation and fans being upset. Nature of the business. If he was hurt, fans will completely understand. Take time off. It’s already a risky sport.
You can discuss it all you like…. But neither Chase, nor the team are obligated to tell you anything.
I’d love for them to put out a press release, but I’m not whining about it if they don’t.
When you say chase did this in 23, you're talking about when he missed races because of a concussion, right?
Nobody suggested they were obligated to…🤷♀️
But no doubt clarity of a situation will absolutely build your fan base.
I got a concussion reading this thread.
Yes, to be fair that one was less egregious but he was still out from Pala to redbud with what he himself coined “a minor concussion”
I'd suggest it wouldn't move the needle at all... Unless you think the 8 guys here whining about it make a difference.
He’s done something egregious?
Put simply, this whole situation was easily avoided by putting out the most basic of PR's. "Hey guys, Pala crash hurt. I'm banged up, taking a few weeks to recover. Aiming to be back around Red Bud".
Post a reply to: Sexton ok?
