Only $10 for all 2026 SX, MX, and SMX series.
It was pretty basic adding them. I just measured and matched them up to the Asterisk. I got the idea from someone here I believe.
There's no good data showing that braces prevent ACL injuries.
I ditches the pads on the straps which allows some amount better movement with my fat legs
Thanks for the photo !
What kind of bolt did you use on the mobius to fix it ?

Don’t have photos of mine but it’s just a simple piece of ribbon from my wife’s sewing supplies which I tie between the brace and the top buckle of my boots. Ribbon doesn’t stretch which works well. I’ve got a bad knee and this has completely changed riding for me.
Wrt to which braces, the ones that fit your knee shape best. Try them on.
There only one way to prevent getting a second ACL rupture, and that's don't get it repaired the first time.
I’ve used custom CTIs for a long time.
On my second pair. When they needed a service the parts were going to be dearer than a set of off the shelf braces. Quite ridiculous. I bought a set of mobious. I find them more comfortable.
Wore Pods after my first Acl surgery, had another 3 sets in the last 15 years. At one time I wouldn’t even consider riding w/out my braces…Destroyed my other knee with the braces on, it was my fault but the braces are a false sense of security ….nothing can save you if you put your foot out to save a fall or catch it in a rut…Pods does have excellent customer service…a few times they have sent me full rebuild kits at no charge when dealers were out of stock….I use the TP199 guards now, just got tired of the knee brace routine, knees are junk anyway…..best preventative for knee”s…. Practice feet on pegs drills! Have to un- train the brains natural reaction to stick leg out anticipating the fall….
I was told by one of the owners of Asterisk that for a knee brace to function properly, you have to utilize the anti-rotation tether. I personally just use TP199 knee pads myself.
Been wearin asterisk for years. The big thing is to run the anti rotation tethers!! No one does. * is the only compny with them. Most knee injuries especially aming us spodes seem to be rotational. Use the tethers. I screw mine into the boot buckle base with the base screw.
No brace company states that their brace will prevent ACL injury that I have read. I do know from experience and 3 knee surgeries that the right brace for your fitment will lessen the injury to the ligaments. I have had far less twisting of the knee within the brace with Mobius, I do use one pad larger for a tighter fit but the pads wear in and become comfortable and the other thing awesome about Mobius is that you can completely rebuild the braces for a fraction of the cost of a new pair. I have had the same shell for 10 years.
…Knee braces saved my left lower leg from amputation after a crash at Elsinore.
My bones below the brace were shattered into bits, but the brace saved my femoral artery from being torn apart….
A few months back I bought a pair of EVS high end web braces, I think it’s called a web brace. I got a deal and still 800, 900 can’t recall. All I know it’s a really good brace.
I’m not smart enough to understand the purpose of a knee brace. It doesn’t eliminate stress, it merely transfers stress from one part of the body to another.
Holy shit. How was your recovery?
They definately don’t ive torn both of mine. But the extra stability you get after a repaired knee makes knee braces very worth the money. IMOP
I run pods, I break the ligament often but like how slim light and comfortable they are. I had custom CTIs but like pods better.
Also I can take the knee cap off and use them snowboarding
Those PT199s are guards which help with impacts but they provide no ligament or rotational protection whatsoever.
When I was shopping around for braces during my ACL recovery I ran into an ad for Donjoy that said if you tore a ligament within like 6 months or a year of getting a custom brace they’d give you like $750. Not a guarantee but it seems like they were willing to back up their claims if they failed. Anyway, I have a CTI3 for my ACL knee currently just to try and help support it as I continue to strengthen it. I figure if nothing else, if I tip over I’ll have a cage around my knee. I need to finally get around to ordering one for my good knee so both are supported equally.

A knee brace can't stop you from twisting your knee, it just makes that part of your leg structuraly stronger.
I have had CTI custom, POD, Asterisk Carbon, Leatt.....and the Mobius feel the best when on the bike, and the brace provides good impact coverage protection for the knee, above + below the knee. Also the steel wire harness keeps the braces in the correct spot on my knee, really dislike when other braces slide down a little when riding.
I'm not even that impressed with the impact protection of TP199's. I've banged the shit out of my knees with them and had some hits that have opened up skin in the knee area. Those soft knee cups in the TP199's aren't very protective.
I've had 4 pairs of EVS braces way back from when they first started to to the Axis Pro's I have now. Well worth it for me. I've broken a femur (right at the top of the brace so that more than likely contributed to it) and I've strained a MCL in an odd crash that twisted my foot ina weird way. I still won't ride without braces.
Here is a tip to save money if you're not in a hurry. EVS normally does a 25% off sale around christmas. Sign up on MX Sponsor and spend the $50 and fill out everything like it asks blah blah blah. Play the waiting game and almost every year EVS sends an offer, mine was 50% off. EVS lets you combin the discounts for 75% off. I paid something like $250 for the Axis Pro's and few pais of socks. There is a few other brace companies on there, but I don't know what kind of deals you can get or if you can double up on the discounts when they have sales.
No special bolt just what came with the tether.
Just to set some stuff straight. I am the athlete manager for EVS. We are discounting our old colorway, We are still making the Axis Sport and Pro, we just changed the colors of the brace.
AMetts, I would be real curious as to the size of the braces you purchased, and if there is anything I can do to help you since you weren't satisfied, I got you. you can email me at jasonf@evs-sports.com That goes for anyone on here with questions about EVS braces.
