The transition between the two tables before either the triple or the finish seemed like it was a harsh transition.

The usual dirt wurx dozer guy was absent this week. So they had someone new make the faces of the jumps.

If this is true and the reason some of those transitions/faces looked jank that is a completely fucking ridiculous oversight by feld. Tragic.

That’s not exactly true and probably not the best time to make jokes like that.

This isn’t misinformation or a joke. Refer to RJ’s interview where he says Russ the usual guy wasn’t there, so the track was different. It’s at 22 minutes

I genuinely apologize if I was wrong. I wasn't trying to make a joke or be disrespectful, just commenting on what I heard from RJ's interview. I'm gutted for Jerry and hate to see something like this when his year was going so good.

Went to the race today.  The jumps were ones that sent the guys straight up.  We were all sitting there wondering why the track and jumps looked completely different than usual.  They were all booters. It was unreal seeing the factory bike’s suspension handle the transitions.

On a side note.  I think that’s why the track raced so poorly. Almost no passing. The level of intensity seemed down.

No, I do see what you’re saying now and misread your post. (guys instead of guy) I just saw that most of the regular DW guys were there including Cory so I jumped the gun and assumed you were taking the piss. That’s my bad and I’m sorry.

I was of the mind that it was a design choice vs an oversight.

Ross’s absence aside, I don’t think we should be pointing fingers. This was a racing incident, nothing more. Jerry has been so solid this season, absolutely gutted for him. Hope we get more info soon 🤞🏼🤞🏼

The main dozer guy wasn’t there this weekend.

Sorry… but I think the track should be different every week… makes a track feel less cookie cutter… while this track didn’t turned into a particularly great race, that’s because it was challenging but why did it kind of spread out with equal gaps? When people were making mistakes all night? AP spent so much of the race doubling through the long rhythm section like a squid and still got second… what were the others doing… it was for sure weird… but the racers should not count on the exact same 5 mound types in different formations every week…

Also it’s very rare that their is passing in 90 degree corners and this track had that…

TBH these tight transitions and steep faces to slow down the track should be more common.  Bring in a couple of walls and you could get 1:20 lap times in a normal stadium which just change things up… the greatest supercross track we’ve ever had was designed by pastrana and would cause the vitards   To unionize and fight against he evil track builders for not making the exact same thing every week.

All the best for Robin! Hate to see it!

Don’t blame the tracks.

I disagree that every track should be built differently. The top riders don’t really have “that much” time on the track each week and it’s nice for a professional racer to go to the track each week and have the familiarity to know how hard they have to hit each jump. The dirt in itself is the separator each week and the track crew is able to mix it up with different styles of rhythms, but the steepness/transitions/length and height of the jumps should be consistent.

but putting the track discussions aside, Jerry is one of the nicest guys I’ve met at the track when I met him a few years back and my stomach immediately sank when I heard the news. I don’t wish this to anyone, not even my worst enemy. Moto is a love hate relationship and there’s nothing I want more than to Jerry to wake up in the morning and be able to wiggle his toes, move his legs and start making a recovery to getting back to 100%. We’re all rooting for you to get through this, Jerry! Only love and prayers to you and your family and friends 🙏🏻

I hate seeing big crashes in SX. When a rider is laying there with no movement its gut wrenching. Really turns me off the sport. Gnarly stuff when you think about it.

Man I hate this side of the sport we love, but to blame a dozer guy or the track is just wrong. Jesse Nelson wasn’t on a supercross track was he?  This is just the truly unfortunate side of our sport and everyone knows it. We don’t think about it, we don’t talk about it, we generally like to forget it happens, because if we dwell on it too much we’d probably never swing a leg over the seat again. Prayers for Jerry, his family and friends, and the doctors and specialists that will help him recover 🙏🏻

Damn fuckin gutted for the guy. One small mistake and life has changed forever in a blink of an eye. Sad as hell man. Sucks. Praying for you Jerry. The Reeds should be thankful that their little girl is good because it almost seems like she had the same injuries. Sending all prayers to you Jerry.

Absolutely bummed over this. I hate this. I hope he can get some stem cell therapy right away. Don’t know if it will help but it can’t hurt.

I agree.   We all need to be praying and thinking about Jerry and his family.

Every time a rider gets hurt some here want to point fingers. This is how we ended up with 9 whoops and no dragon backs.....and still have injuries.  When there is a crash right after the start, we shouldn't have a rhythm, or whoops, or a triple after the first turn.....The tracks need to be variable and that's what makes this sport so great.  It's dangerous regardless and there will always be injuries.  Short of removing jumps altogether that won't change.  Improving safety is where the opportunity is ike what A-Star's is doing, but not much you can do when lawn dart trajectory.  Yesterday's track was very technical, but I think this was the only red flag of the day and some here are acting like people were being carted off like a war zone.

Be better guys, this is not on the dozer guy or anything else.  It just sucks.

Man this sport is brutal... It changes just like that, I remember that same feeling. Hard truthful pill to swallow and his instantaneous response of strength is what I love.  Would love to get in contact with him, but I do not have instagram.
