I think sexton took a step forward tonight in his growth as a rider. He NEEDED to go out tonight and do 2 things.
1. Win the overall and stop the bleeding with the points and
2. Prove that he can have the bigger picture in mind and not do anything stupid trying to beat webb.
He accomplished both and I think he took a step as a rider. Dropping the points from 15 to 8 in one night was huge for his championship hopes, thats about as good as he could possibly ask for. Then when webb passed him in the last main he just let webb take the win and didnt do anything stupid trying to “send a message” or anything dumb. Webb wasnt even on the podium with that win, he didnt need to pass him. The most important thing for chase was that he just rode it home and got the overall win on the night. Good job from chase, that night went about as good as it possibly could. He should have a lot of confidence going forward knowing he delivered the goods when it counted.
Totally agree. The record books are not going to point out that he didn't win all three races.
I like both Webb and Sexton but I feel that Sexton will go on and win this Championship. Sexton is a good package and he just got stronger after learning the hard way...you don't need to win them all to win a championship.
It is a pity so many guys are out with injuries, that sucks for the racing and the fans. Nevertheless, you have to get through the series, Sexton and Webb are doing just that so credit to them.
You could literally see him back it down in race 3. It spells trouble for Webb. If Chase can stay in that head space he's going to win all three titles with ease.
Tough for me to find the right words to describe it, because Webbb has been the “Best” so far and that’s why he’s leading the points.
But Sexton is the best fundamental rider overall with the most speed and it makes me want to see him put it together and win this championship. He’s a likeable dude, works so hard, and takes those throwaways on the chin then comes back stronger every time

I won’t trust that Sexton can win with the full pressure of a SX Championship until he does so. If I were to bet, I’d say he has a few more mistakes and Webb wins this championship by at least 15 points overall.
I think Chase was cruising after he got that holeshot…. He knew the overall was his.
But, after Webb got by, I do think he fought a few demons…. But this time he beat them.
Yea I’m not saying that this result means hes got this in the bag now and is for sure going to win the championship. I prob still think webb has the advantage. I’m just saying that overall as a rider this was a race that he grows from going forward because he learned from his previous mistake and applied it for the overall win. Nights like this have the potential to make him a smarter rider in the future and less mistake prone. Well see.

Just wondering how long Anderson is going to hold a grudge. It was the only questionable decision Chase made last night.
I think if I were going to put percentages to win the title, I’d probably say:
Webb 35%
Sexton 63%
Roczen 2% (Would take catastrophic injury to Webb AND Sexton)
By Webb too though right?
He told Will in a pre race interview, he was going to stop searching for the most perfect settings and if the bike was close make up the difference with his riding. Hopefully it's not just lip service.
I’ve got $50 on Chase reverting back to his old ways next weekend.
It was nice to see him riding like everyone knows he can. He’s poetry on a bike and just needs to keep his cool. He would of been well in control of this championship if he didn’t toss the last 5 races. But he’s still fighting.

Plessinger had the same kind of night as Sexton and I was I impressed with how they both kept their head in the game and made it all about the points.
It's only questionable because Anderson can't be trusted to be a professional, and that's a sad statement about Anderson.
If AP wants to endear himself even more to KTM he should take it upon himself to do sexton's fighting for him if this becomes a thing with Anderson.

That was very nice to hear. That sounds like more growth from him tbh. We all know hes been kind of a settings diva, and has tended to blame the bike for his own problems, but that was very good to hear. It seems like he did some soul searching in the off week.
Awesome night for Sexton. He rode fast, rode smart, and gained points. Maybe the one week break was just what he needed.
This’ll be unpopular…but who cares? Anderson has done MANY, MANY more “questionable” moves on other riders than Sexton, and has no room to get his shorts wadded. JA21 needs to suck it up and figure out how to get his ass on the podium again.

That wasn’t my point. Jason has a history of needing to get retaliation, warranted or not. Chase should know that when he is in a title fight he doesn’t need a angry 21 looking for revenge. (And I agree Jason should be focusing on himself, but history shows us he isn’t likely to let this go).
I honestly don't think the move will make any difference to Anderson whatsoever. If he gets a chance he'll take out Chase in the future. So normal rules. He'll park anyone, any race. So no reason to treat him with kid gloves because it's not going to earn you nice guy points

Why is it a night for growth because he's been doing what he always does then gets a win? Hes just doing typical Sexton.. Great races then crashes some races.....

Premise was that he didn't do what he always does when he gets a win.
It was a direct contrast to Arlington when he was in the exact same situation: win position secured in the third race, and yet he fought Webb for a useless position (aside from for his pride) and ended up on the ground. This time he let Webb walk with the third race, but took the overall.
