There would be nothing to gain by switching and really, everything to lose. He looks good on the KTM and he has proven he can win on it. Hell, you can brain fart on any brand and this is what he needs to work on...not the color of the bike. Changing teams would be a disaster I think.
Exactly!
Coop has been on a Yamaha since he turned pro.
Yes there is some mileage in sticking with what you know and developing it, but there’s a 50% chance he might move to something he really clicks with and it elevates him from being ‘good’ to being ‘great’!
Seems to me that Star Yamaha is where people that prioritize winning over $ want to be. Webb not working with KTM, Tomac not working with Kawi. Both had championships on their pre-Star deals and chose to go to Star. Yes, I'm sure they have great deals, but it was bike/team first not $ first.
JCoop said on Pulp it wasn't about money; it's about having the bike to win on. Maybe he would find it elsewhere, but that's a big career risk if winning and not $ is your objective.
Hopefully KTM are still around for his 3rd year

Not to nit-pick but MC went to Suzuki before he went Yamaha
Triumph would make sense. Super stable chassis, familiar motor, can plain the whoops again.
Between stalling and falling he needs electric start.
Sexton and Roczen on Ducati, with Larry Brooks as team manager? Sexton probably sees how Roczen is improving and can’t help but think Brooks has something to do with it.
Come on losers, only 7 more votes required.
Didn't @ML512 say you needed 50 downvotes?
That was the original number we considered but it’s lower than that.
Excellent, I'll downvote @inthebadboycorner, so he gets his wish!
It's interesting everyone is penciling in Tomac as definitely riding next year. Did I miss his press release that he's coming back for '26 sx?
Inlaws aren't necessarily a long term deal.
This SX season is half way through. If by some weird ass aligning of the stars, Sexton gets his shit in a lump and wins the title, then the KTM will be an awesome bike and the scuttlebutt will change to who is switching to KTM to take AP's spot.
Right, he's just going to lose another year chasing settings on a new platform. It's not the KTM it's his head
Yeah this is crazy. The past month every race thread is saying what a head case Chase is, he needs a coach for the mental aspect of racing, etc. Now he needs to switch to a new bike?
yep kawi needs another top rider....
prado will still be on training wheels for SX next year and ando 's had his day
Pit Row
Not to derail this thread but Prado's sx season was a worst possible outcome scenario. He needed to make it through this sx season relatively healthy and really get his feet wet. Results shouldn't have mattered. He made it 2 freaking races. Basically it was totally a wash and he'll be back to square one next year
He's looked extremely comfortable on the KTM many of times this season. He's without the red plate due to mental errors, not a general lack of comfort with the bike. With exception to Indy (comically torn up track) and A2 where he had the flu, he has had elite top-end speed every race. He also looked awesome in outdoors last year. Like others have said, I think it would be a mistake for him to leave at this point.
Carson Racing is looking for a 250 rider though I've heard Dean Talon is the favorite for that spot ever since he decided to leave Art Henderson Racing.
He'll stay on KTM.
this right here^^ idk how he feels but from a fan perspective ( me ) he looks good on the KTM so why leave 🤔 he just gotta stop doing dumb shit & he’ll be iight
On the ground while leading with 5 minutes left, most likely.

RMZ 450’s. Electric start standard.
- Ken Roczen
- Chase Sexton
Assuming the KTM group doesn’t downsize the racing budget too much, I think Chase will be best staying at KTM. Same bike, same team, the stability should help him get that last 1% of his riding figured out. He’s so close to being dominant, he’s just gotta take a small step forward with his race craft and do a little bit of the Webb mentality instead of the RJ Hampshire thing.
It’s funny how we are so spoiled with bikes we say “don’t go to Ducati or Triumph! They’re brand new bikes!”
RC didn’t seem to have problems on a brand new RMZ450, nor James on a KX450 (well, outside of southwick moto 2….).
Times were different, though.
James is on record for really not liking that bike...
