Don’t think of a pink elephant.

I agree with you on the emotions and I think thoughts are part of it as well. We don’t manifest them. Thoughts move in and out of our heads all day, where do they come from?  On some root level I don’t think we control them. Obviously when it comes to problem solving or teaching /learning something we have an ability to shape our thoughts.

So you think about killing people all day? Or jumping out of your office building? I'd hope not, and we control these thoughts by many methods. You also control thoughts/emotions by living your life a certain way. Don't want to think about porn all of the time? Well quit watching porn. See how that works?

No i don’t think about those things. Just pointing out we can’t always control our thoughts. We can control if we act on them.  Thoughts are often tied to emotions and we must decide whether to latch on to them or let them go. Daniel having the thought to punch that guy was brought on by an emotion (anger, frustration, whatever it was). He chose to let that thought/emotion go rather then act on it.

We are saying the same thing.

lol people that gas light are twats.

Normal people - “Sometimes you can’t control your thoughts”

Twat gas lighter - so you just think about killing people and torture and the most deranged shit ever!! All day every day??  You psycho!

If he was told he was gonna be the voice of supercross, and moved to go all in, only to get sabatoged id be pissed too. If Ricky was a dick on camera at Arlington, what may have been said off camera? Then....DB takes the high road, covers everyones shit behavior towards him. Everyone always asks him. Then it sounds like it was at least implied he was gonna hangout for a bit on RDL, like alot do, and at that point he was prob like ok fuck you guys.

Ricky is terrible. I used to be a huge fan but then you learn he can barely put together sentences and its like come on. Hes the goat, sure. But he doesnt add anything that any other racer couldnt add. How many deep technical things does he say that makes you think "only an all time race winner can give me that info, and its so valuable that im willing to overlook him butchering the delivery". The answer is zero.

This. You don’t pick your family up and move across the country unless you are like 99.9% sure you got something in the bag. I don’t see Blair as an uncalculated guy. I’m betting he had some solid evidence suggesting he had the gig even though he admitted he had no guarantees.

Proof that there’s no weight in a man’s word or handshake anymore. He needed it on paper and who knows if that would have even been enough

For being friends with DB I thought Mathes and JT comments on the pulp show were pretty shitty.

Another good reason DB did this. He’s going to find out who his real friends are and who’s a shill

RC just needs to log laps and take each race as a learning lesson. I'd actually much rather be in RC's position right now than DB, It's better to be on the backfoot.

Regarding the PulpMX response to this last night...

Matthes repeatedly mentioned that he had tried to get DB to tell his story.

NOW that he did tell it...First thing Matthes says is something like "I dunno, If I were DB I don't think I would have gone this far" .

Hmmm....to me, that comes across as an instigator egging a buddy on to do something just to see the fireworks.

Basically dismissed it after wanting this to happen for so long. A little snakeish

I’d say DB is in the catbird seat on this one. RC is in a  must situation.

I'm on Blair's side for sure with this story. But also, sick of the high school drama shit. We really don't care. Just get better people in the booth. If we can't have Weege and Langston. Give us Weege and James Stewart.

If the world were fair, sure. The reality is, RC is a brand that is worth a lot of money to a lot of people, because of this his horrible behavior will always be defended for that simple fact alone.

100% agree. They dismissed it and basically called him “too emotional” in short. Matthes reduced the matter to “everyone has disagreements with people in the workplace, there’s no need to air it out to the public”. But if you listen to Blair’s story and believe him at all, it was a MUCH bigger issue than just people having a “disagreement”. Ricky, Leigh, and the no-name NBC executive were actively suppressing Blair’s potential and acting as roadblocks to his career success… a career that he worked his ass off and absolutely deserved to attain if you ask pretty much any fan of the sport.

Total gaslighting by Matthes and JT. I understand them not feeling it was their place to side with anyone, but to reduce the situation to a “workplace disagreement” and essentially invalidate Blair’s strong feelings about the matter is textbook subject manipulation.

I am at a loss for those big names that still ask "Why does this matter?" or "It is not a big deal. Its your common corporate politics." Matthes is taking this tone deaf position and he the pioneer for diving into controversy. Love him or hate him, that's one of his strengths.

The reason this matters, why you are seeing the strong pro Blair opinions for "a simple commentator position"? The overwhelming public majority strongly agrees that Blair is a generational talent in the booth. They are particularly upset because they lost this asset for what is, to them, an unacceptable reason. The people want Blair calling races....NOW.

Disagree with this or think it goes to far his fan's are so biased for him? Name a more beloved broadcaster in the last 30 years? His professional popularly exists not because he is a good guy or part of a popular group, but simply the high value product he brings to the fans.  Name a more strong reaction to anyone leaving? David Bailey may come close in the skill set/popularity department.

Matthes and JT failed to go even go so far to acknowledge or make the glaringly clear observation that the public majority (again, not them personally) feel's Blair's skilletset requires that he is calling races. The people want Blair back.  JT gets a pass, Matthes not as much. Ricky even acknowledges so much, sarcastically calling Blair "The Public's Toy" on video. To put this in context and be fair to them and give credit where credit is due, Matthes is at least entertaining discourse, where few other credible source really are or have.

While on Pulp towards the end of the segment, it took Adam Entiknap of all people, god bless him, to finally acknowledge the fact that "people like what Blair brings to the table".

Also, JT not by choice, has to navigate the clear fragile egos and politics. Where Blair failed, he isn't naive to the politics and egos. He wants to continue a career, I get it.

DB post race coverage video: That is how RC acted towards Blair with 15 people and a camera are watching. If that is when people are watching, is it a stretch that Blair is credible private meetings or phone calls when no one was watching. Unfortunately, NBC/DIFFY/Ricky and the media have and are continuing to make the decision to stay silent. Therefore, what do you expect and these are the reasonable inferences that are being taken.

I may or may not be promoting this. I put a screen shot of the poll results from the other thread on the face book mx fight page and told Indy goers to make signs of it 😂

I think this thinking is on the right track for the next steps for Blair fans. The current RC bashing online is not productive and more importantly a waste of time and effort for their cause.

The fans want Blair back.

The status quo will not and cannot be changed without continuous rational displays of strong public support.

Business respond to public pressure since the customers dollars and actions drive their behavior.

That story doesn't make sense though. Right before Blair quit, he got the chance to move to other sports to do some play by play (IIRC lacrosse or something) and he said that he was getting more opportunities to expand and grow. Perhaps he wasn't treated well on the moto side, but by his own words he was getting opportunities outside of moto which is what you would want if you actually want a career in announcing.

Looking and listening back at some of the 2023 stuff it would appear that DB was just too fast paced for RC to run with. He needs things simplified. Sounds stressed out an agitated compared to when he's with Weege or Diffey. Checks out with a lot of DBs words

The only way that bringing Daniel back into the booth can work is if NBC is out of the picture. Even if they got rid of Diffy, Will and RC, it still comes down to how NBC wants it run.  And unfortunately, what we watch every week is the way NBC wants it run.  NBC isn’t going to give those guys the freedom to call the race the way they want to.  They want it done their way, or else.  Take Weege for example, he has gotten way over the top for me and imo it’s because of NBC.  If he could do it his way I think it would be different.  He didn’t announce this way years ago when he did the track announcing at High Point and Steel City.  He has been molding into what the corporate networks want him to be.  That is why they have production meetings before the race to get “the script down” for how they want it done.  Nothing will change until NBC is out of the picture and even then things may not change.

And his ego is so big he probably doesn’t even understand where all the hate is coming from or what’s even going on. When you are a super winner like that, and get your ass kissed at every turn, it’s hard to notice a bunch of pea ants complaining. The whole, lion doesn’t concern himself with the opinions of sheep.

That being said, Blair wears his heart on his sleeve. This wasn’t him throwing a fit about not getting his way, or being over sensitive. The downright degrading, talking down to, making him feel so small and insignificant was the epitome of uncalled for and the opposite of what Blair thought he was associating himself with. He is so passionate about the sport, he wants everyone to kick ass, Lee, Todd, himself, Ricky, everyone. But the politics and the ego and disrespect was truly unreal. I’m glad he pulled back the cover on this.

we already know Steve and JT weren’t gonna say a goddamn thing about it because they can’t, but we don’t need their opinion, we heard it straight from the horse’s mouth

Cancelling people because they suck though?  I mean NBC covers many things. If NBC wants RCs so called announcing skills so bad they should be able to put him anywhere. It’s no conspiracy that 95% of the audience think Ricky sucks.

if the dude is terrible calling the sport he dominated you think he’s gonna be good anywhere?

Long story short. Some people deserve cancelling and that person wasn’t  Blair

Mathless is in bed with the entire moto broadcast clique.

Of course he's going to avoid this.

Doubt you'll ever see Blair on his show again.

I'm just curious if you'll be willing to admit you were wrong.

You know what's cool about Joe Cool (Montana), he quit.  Arguably the best quarterback of all-time, tried his hand at broadcasting (1995) and was abysmal.  Hell, even in his first year, NBC (ironic) paved the way for him to call the Super Bowl.  In his first year(knowing he was abysmal)!!

Get this, he quit working as an analyst during Super Bowl XXX at halftime! He wasn't a fan of the On-Air experience, never quite got comfortable or confident.

Generally, athletes who are widely regarded as the greatest ever aren't very good broadcasters. They have too high a lens to look at the game through. They're wired in such a way they can't verbalize / analyze what came so easy to them, but obviously not so easy for the athletes they're commenting on.

RC's way past his broadcast expiration date.  Should have quit or been canned a LONG time ago. Now all he's doing is tarnishing his legacy as well as the current fan base and the sport in general.

30 years after his last snap under center, Joe Montana is the epitome of class and still very highly regarded in the NFL.

19 years after his last full season, RC's damage to his legacy is undeniable.  Couple that with fucking with people's careers and Newsflash!...Karma is a bitch.

I haven't thought about his Wins...Goat status...for a number of years. Thank you Feld and Peacock for enabling RC to go down His Way.  Somewhere Frank Sinatra is smiling.

All's not lost, though, I'll still look at possibly buying an RC Triumph.  NOT!!

Time to Drop the Mic GOAT.

Guys the outcome of this was never going to be Blair in the booth. That ship has sailed and unless NBC is not involved hes not calling any SX races again. But a lot of fans are missing the Forrest for the trees. The real issue here is NBC deliberately sabotaging the broadcast for a POS analyst(and maybe person) a jealous play by play guy and an ignorant exec.

If Ricky can’t think quick enough on his feet that he needs everything rehearsed and done exactly like the rehearsal he’s not fit for the job. Why NBC continues to trot him out there and thinking he’s the right guy is mind boggling.

Also, one of my biggest problems with Ricky is regarding how he looks at his critics/Blair’s supporters. He seems to think that only a small portion of the fanbase has an issue with his announcing, and that these are just whiny “keyboard warriors” who are a loud minority and don’t deserve to be respected the same way as the majority of the fanbase. What Ricky fails to realize is, almost everybody thinks he is subpar at his job as a commentator. It’s not just a select few noisy “keyboard warriors”, unless he believes the whole fanbase of the sport is nothing but keyboard warriors, which means he has zero respect for us.

This bleeds over to the fans loving Blair. He disparagingly calls Blair “the fans’ favorite toy” as if that’s a bad thing. Dude, commentators exist FOR THE FANS!! If the fans express support for a particular commentator, it means he’s actually GOOD at his job. You dimwit.
