Ok, it’s time!
There are enough legends that still ride, and I’d love to see an exhibition race of some kind.
RC, Chad, RV, MC, Dunge if he is still around, Cannard still rides, Millsaps is around more lately, MC still hauls apparently, stew would be a long shot (but imagine) Pastrana would probably come out for it..
Yeah I’m dreaming I know, but just imagine..
I would pay to watch this carnage.
Honestly Dungey yards them, he’s quietly insane
Depends. If the race is 15 mins, probably. 5-10, might be more interesting, I'm sure Canard can still haul ass for a short time, once his elbow heals lol
RV still rides a good amount, so I'd put him up there as well
The Shop
DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
Luxon 4-Post Bar Mounts
$189.95 - $239.95
Free shipping: VITALMX
Mike Brown would be in the mix.
Dont forget Emig, dude still hauls the mail as well
I've been wishing for a long time there could be some sort of very limited 'masters' series tied in with the nationals. Those guys still have big names, fans and sponsorship potential. I loved it when RC, KW and a few others did that race at Ironman a few years back.
Someone did something like that during covid, it was pretty cool kdub and pastrana had a couple good motos. I would love to see MC vs RC and chad vs stew
Moto fite club. Wished that they had continued to develop that format. Loved the campfire talk between the riders.
VMXdN, Foxhill, UK
Sounds like Loretta Lynn’s 40+ class
RV & Dungey would lap everybody up to 4th.
Honestly that’s a good point, I was thinking 30 minute moto’s but no way half those guys are showing up if they have to do a full race
Don't forget Bradshaw! I just ripped moto's with him in November. Same Damon we all once knew. Still truckin'!
Everyone on 125 smokers?
Dungey finished 6th OV 2022 450 in the great outdoors which was amazing so he should have to replicate what happened at Southwick the year his RMZ wouldn't start to make it fair.😁
Dungey was taking top 5 in motos and running with guys like Barcia, Anderson, Ferrandis, Craig, Plessinger, Wilson etc just 2 short years ago. Villopoto hasn’t been at that level since he retired. Out of all retired guys, Dungey would have them completely covered. The only two who would give him trouble would be the AC boys (Cairoli and Ciancarillo).
AC9 wouldn't give Dung any problems he can't beat Carson Brown.
Pit Row
Speed/success as a Vet rider has more to do with how serious you still are more than how good you once were.
Dungey was Top 5 in the Nationals only two years ago, it wouldn't be that close.
Doug Henry on the Stark would impress a few.
I'm just putting this out there. It's something I've thought about for maybe 7 or 8 years now, I'm trying to put together a rough series that would include this.
Just started reaching out to a couples tracks last month to get ideas from their point of view and Lori I talked to her 6 months ago and she was a big help in getting some ideas together one of which i pitched her that seem to spark a little intrest. Not saying anything is going to come of it. But I am in my free time from busines and life trying put something together. I hope to start reaching out to riders in June or July for next year. It's all still wishful thinking for the moment though.
Flame away, but I don't really see how this would be that cool.
You really wanna watch a bunch of dudes who are quite a bit different in age and only ride for fun these days race?
I just don't think much "racing" would actually happen.
That was a good race. I think the issue was that everyone agreed to just have fun, and not take it seriously.... But then the gate dropped and some riders (RC for one), went to full race mode lol. It brought the risk factor up, and kind of turned ppl off about doing it again.
I did one of Ryan’s ride days last year. The dude is still as fit as ever and bulletproof. Pretty insane honestly. I mean when he filled in a couple summers ago he was well within the top 10
The retired pros or legends class idea but it has to be based on realistic idea of what a "retired pro" is. Mike brown and even Reed vs dungey or villo is as of today a drastic difference.
To put that class in a series theres gonna be guys that need to race the pro or appropriate +25A class and guys that would qualify to race the legends class. An yeah you should see LL when brow, emig ,ryno and all of those guys show up the fences are lined with people to watch them race.
Dungee would be 1st , Caroli ? Maybe 2nd. Chad Johnson won both motos 450A pro am last yr, maybe 2nd if it’s a sand track. Brown 3rd. LaPort a Wi. Rider won both motos at Red Bud in big gate of 30A , another Great sand rider. 2 yrs ago he did the nationals. He’s 4th. MC has the best style yet today . He’s 2nd to ?
Great in theory but it would depend greatly on the format- track type, length of race, one or multiple races?
Single short race- RV or Canard.
Single longer race- Dunge.
Multiple races- Dunge.
2t single short race (old bikes)- Reedy.
Edit- Stew is the great unknown, if enticed, he may/ or may not, destroy everyone.
It's been done in mens pro tennis in '90s at MSG
One and done fantastic event!
The fallout the next day was Mineral ice and lots of limping...
You tube it -
Hannah would mock today's pussy's for domination...
Hannah also barely touched a racetrack again after he turned 30.
Get them all on 250 2 strokes, and a real SMX track with whoops.
