So you don’t think it went over well at the rig when Jo popped a cork and yelled…”These new bikes are the best EVER!”

Honda is running out of championship bonus money, they had to hit the Lawrence brothers with a twist

Little bit concerning for everyone else that on a bike that looks that bad, Jett is running the same pace as the other contenders on at least a one lap basis. They will get this figured out in a couple races.

Didn't this bike just have a slightly modified frame? I thought they ran this bike in the summer and Hunter immediately did better and told everyone how great the 25 was?

Jett qualified 2nd and Hunter 5th. Bikes fine. Jett looked like shit in the interviews. Tired, sick, fed up with his chick. It was on him. He qualified right behind Tomac. And Tomac went from dead last to 5th.

Not to mention they made it ugly as fuck, in my opinion

Glad I’m not the only one. Those shrouds remind me of the early 80’s when they just threw something on there because radiators were new and they weren’t sure what to cover them with.

Especially when you consider the previous generation was beautiful

I’ve wondered the same thing. Reed on the aluminum 05 Yamaha frame too. Sucks riders can’t race what they want.

Might want to go back and watch the replay to double-check.

Timing and scoring on the screen showed Tomac in 22nd at the 19:08 mark in the main.

What? Tomac was dead last after Jett was. Jett was in 21st and Tomac 22nd.

Jett night as well crashed from that start and hung up , so like he crashed twice and took time getting his bike out of the sand

Jett was pretty much last twice to be fair, after the start and when he went down after making up some positions.

Agree 100% bike is fine prob still some fine tuning - 1st race Jett gets hung up on tuff block off start , passes a fair few people then drops it in the sand and lost allot of time.

Let’s chill wait for 2nd round

Ask Jeremy McGrath why Honda would do that?

Think about the number of champions who, when reflecting on their career, won over and over only to have the manufacturer change to a chassis they couldn’t win on.  How do they manage to fumble to that degree? If you’re winning and want to sell future bikes based on people trusting that it can win championships why would you fix what isn’t broken with what I assume is also hundreds of thousands (maybe millions) in obsolete R&D to build an inferior chassis.

Honda has done it a few times. Remember the 97 250? MC sure does lol.

You and every other owner. Those poor fuckers were so bummed after buying one. Went from the best to the worst.

I figured the short start and hairpin left turn was going to claim riders and it proved to all night, was just a question of who. in this case it was both Deegan (though his came after the turn) and Jett. Not saying the new bike isn’t a problem, but if I’m guessing this was bad luck and frustration that spiraled out of control. it also set the stage for a possibly very good season points wise, compared to what many expected. if Jett struggles similarly next weekend, I’ll retract this statement but I’m not counting on it.

Just a reminder - it's called StarterCross for a reason.

Get a bad one at your own peril.

Weird Jo's bike looked good. The Huntah Bros' looked like dogshit

It’s not wierd at all considering that a small engine bike is easier to get in the right window than a 450.

Same back in the day where KTM’s 125’s would get away with the PDS suspension while the larger/stronger the engine you used on that suspension, the worse it would work.

Yea…but guys rag on riders being honest and complaining about the bike…so when the riders says the bike is great, which Hunter and Jett said in prerace interviews, then you shouldn’t blame it for a poor performance after.  Either be honest up front…or look in the mirror.

I’m seriously thinking about how much their performance on that new bike effected them and how much of the performance was their own mistakes.

Yeah KR left Honda now he beating the "rest on their laurels brothers".  KTM , Suzuki , Yamaha , Kawasaki all beat them down.

Did the riders blame the bike or did the members on Vital?. I just woke up and saw the mains but no post race interviews.

Yea…not that we are privy to everything, but it appeared that most of the top dogs were working hard and focused in the off season and it didn’t appear the bros were as much so.  A1 may have been a wake up call.  We’ll see if it is a quick wake up…or if it takes more….for the bike and riders.

It’s also the first round and there’s always something weird that happens at first rounds, not just a1. Interesting to hear and see the lack of talk about the lawrence’s in the off season besides the races. This season will be interesting.
