If /when these winds shift it's gonna blow all the smoke south. Wonder if it's going to be an issue?

Been told by my friend who lives there, the wind usually stays blowing inland. Says it shouldn't change to go South at Anaheim.

The whole reason for the uncontrollable fires are the Santa Ana winds that blow from the deserts offshore.  If the Santa Anas persist through the weekend, it could certainly be a big problem.  As of today, the air quality in Anaheim is moderate.  Fingers crossed the fires don’t spread further east.

1st I would like to thank you to all the firefighters and 1st responders for attacking the fires as well as they have been able to.

2nd I hope all of the vitards living around LA are OK and if conditions required they were able to get out.

Sadly the race will have lots of emepty seats from fans that will not be able to attend.

Winds from the south early in the day...some possible shift from the NE for night show would could blow some of the smoke that way, though would be near the end.

At what point do they say maybe we should reschedule?  A large swath of the city is in a national disaster the size of which they have never seen before. Spectator attendance would have to take a huge hit and are there safety issues?

yeah i'm itching for sx to go off but if this event takes resources that could instead be assisting with the fires, go racing another day.

I don't think the air quality is great even without the fires 😅

Anaheim is 40-45 miles away from all of it. I don’t mean to sound crass, but people in LA don’t care about this stuff and will go on with life until it directly affects them.

I’m willing to bet that the amount of people coming to the race from Pacific Palisades is pretty small.

The show must go on… performers can and will be replaced as needed…felds will be selling masks for 100.00 at the entrance…unless you have an empty monster can showing your complete indifference to your health in which you don’t require a mask.

I really know very little about the area so I was just wondering what the odds were. Im honestly looking forward to some great racing but my heart really goes out to those who are having to deal with this loss.

I would say probably now, my sister lost everything in Altadena.  It's not so much the air quality, but all resources are needed for this.

They should just tack this race on at the end of the year, or during a break.

I’m sorry for your sisters loss, I truly am. But how is canceling the race going to help the people of Altadena?

Pres Biden has already said the Feds will pay for the cleanup, cause the CA government spent all their money on other stuff.

Dude, the average house in that area is 4 million bucks, do you think they need to drive to Anaheim to get a hotel when there is tons close by? Most probably have second homes.

Geeze. The air quality will be fine in Anaheim,  supercross resources aren’t going to be depleted. The race will go on. I’m just bummed I might have to get rid of my ticket. The last 3 days have truly been full of smoke, depleted resources, and no cell service to see what the vitards are complaining about before A1. Hope I’m home in time for Saturday. Reminds me of Toronto supercross when they evacuated the whole hotel since everyone had the room windows open during the race.
