I'm no economist, but my own personal theory is that sadly, there are enough people out there willing to pay stupid prices for entertainment tickets to support it.  This spans well beyond A1 and our little sport.

Generally, people are looser with their wallets than a generation or two ago, and credit is so easy to get.  And then there is the never ending need for content & selfies for social media.  People's finances are none of my business, but I see a lot of people burning money that they just don't have.

I'm not condemning anyone for spending a little disposable income to "make memories," but I think it's out of hand.

It'd be a pretty interesting study to know how many people are going to drop $500+ for them and family to go to A1 but don't have at least a couple months of expenses in a savings account.

People be living wild, good for them I guess 🤷‍♂️

You must be mistaken. In this economy, our dual incomes can't even save money for 2 months of emergency expenses. And this is without spending money on entertainment and tickets...

Outrageous to charge that for outdoors and have the customer use a full porta John, park in a field and walk through mud to stand along a fence (if you are lucky and isn’t blocked by someone that stacked out their ez up). Stadium prices I can see kinda being justified for the facilities but outdoors not so much.

Bro, its $60 to be at a professional sporting event where you get to watch 4 30+2 motos, as well as practice sessions. I don't think you're getting screwed on paying $60 for that. Holy hell there are some cheap people on here, maybe stop with the crazy spending if you cant afford a $60 ticket to a national?

lol, yeah I can afford it, just don’t feel it’s worth it, and the amenities at the outdoor venues haven’t kept up with the price increases. Agree it’s a great experience if you’ve never been to one, but I’ve seen plenty, I choose to spend the $60 to go riding the day of the National and then watch it on Peacock when I get back.

Have you attended concerts, amusement parks, Monster Jam as a family? Not much difference in price.

True - not much difference- they are all way overpriced.  Basically my kid and I can pretty much ride all year (entry fees etc) for what we will spend on a 3 hr event - opportunity cost.

Ticketmaster 350.00 a piece for the below average lower bowl seats in corner or ends for Pittsburgh SX.  2 seats and event expenses  will be around 1k. Kinda crazy really but  Tickets selling well.

The consumer only has power in this situation by keeping your butt on the couch and debit card in the wallet. Greedy corporations usually end up getting their karma eventually.

Promoters manipulate ticket "sales" to create a F.O.M.O. situation, which then drives the actual sale of tickets. Been happening since the dawn of Man.

Can anyone here please help me with some details on going to watch A2 in person?

Myself and a buddy are coming over from Aus to watch A2. We have our tickets sorted but I need to know the following:

-What time can we get there? We want to watch everything from practice to event end.

-Do we park our car at the stadium? I’m guessing parking is an extra charge which is fine but do I need to book my parking? We want to be there the minute gates open. I could only find weirdo third party sites selling their driveway spaces as parking 10 miles from the stadium.

I’m not really a forum guy, but I cannot find these answers on any SX sites or even the stadium site. Any info is greatly appreciated! Thank you.

$20? I pay $8 a month for Peacock, get all the races.

That's $19.99 FOR THE YEAR.  The WHOLE year.  $1.67/month.

This year the parking for A1 was $50, a $25 increase from 2023. You can get into fan fest with an empty monster can. On the supercross website, it says practice starts at 10:30 AM Local time, qualifying is at 11:30 AM local time(chance are fan fest opens around 11), opening ceremonies is at 5 pm.(I wonder why A1’s time for opening ceremonies is a half hour earlier).

Should find all of the answers here:

ps. no booking for parking, just show up and pay. you won't have any problem if you're going super early.

Can you buy direct from the box office or are you too far away? I stop in at Lucas Oil and save all of the extra fees - tix are way cheaper buying at the venue. The fees are killing ticket prices.

We have 4 people go every year and save enough on fees that it pays for the 4th ticket and then some. I am in Indy for business twice a month so it's easy to stop in. Even if I had to drive an hour I would still be money ahead...

If the Anaheim ticket prices are scaring you, get out of CA for a weekend.  Indy (which is one of the best stadiums to attend with a great downtown area) has tickets for under $30.

Good idea. I have always had a blast Bar hopping [crawling] in downtown Indy. The girls are great fun!

We skipped Washougal this year for the first time in a LONG time due to costs and access. Easy $150 a head day and 2+ hours to get in/out on top of it. Did Am Days a couple years ago and that was a $1000+ weekend. No thanks.

Yeah they are the rider#,s go up for am day . But some classes not much like only 12-14 in 50a.  I wouldn’t cover expenses. I would like to do the 2 am days  at Millville & Unadilla because I want to go rafting a couple days or a more in the Lake Placid area.

I did that in 05 in Indy I just said sell  me the best ticket you got.  I wanted to see 2strokes race SX 1 last time .  RC Wow he whipped the RM250 around the track like it was a rm85. When Mike Larocco walked out I was the 1 yelling Mark Larocco I,m your biggest fan, I Love you Mark, repeatdly . Haha . People turning around smiling like wow that’s a enthusiastic race fan.  I liked the old stadium in 97 my chic & I stayed at the union station hotel next to the stadium.  Partying after was a blast. Some of the riders where out back then. It was pretty cheap tickets etc.

This has really hit home with actual “live entertainment” like concerts, etc. I was falling out of my seat laughing when I saw what people paid to go see Taylor Swift and other unbelievably terrible performers; but, hey, that’s just me. 🤣

Looked at A1 tix on the Angel’s Stadium site…

Nose-bleed: $125-145

Good seats in the 300 ring: $230-551

So, yes, it’s gotten STUPID.

While one can say that “Everything has gotten more expensive!” Well, truth be told…over the last few years…things have approached triple of what I paid to take the family just a few years ago…as in 2022-2023.

So, when it comes to Supercross tix…ESPECIALLY A1…I think the pissed off people have a valid point.

Not going to see family's and younger kids at those prices. Going backwards for profit again.

It's one thing to drop some unreasonable amount of coin to make your child's dream come true (concerts and the like) but man, motocross/Sx was built on the everyman family model. Hard working, blue collar, swing a hammer guy who's family shares that passion.

And it was that way for a long time. Even a having to pinch pennies family could buy 5 treadhead seats for $50, buy the kids some swag, have a meal during the race, and be out of the building maybe a couple hundred dollars lighter, but with smiles all around after having a great time out as a family.

This sport is pricing it's core customer out, I'm only going to A1 this year to help support my nephew in making the main event on a new brand.

All about growing the sport, taking pro racing out of the reach of the everyman, closing tracks, hell even KTMs money issue.

RMATV seems to be one of the few that gets it.

Yet some lower SX main event guys a clearing less than a $1k a night.    Seems like the lowest guy should clear 10x that - for risk alone.

Yeah it’s crazy

I went to get tickets for my family (4) and would have cost me close to $1500 to get in the door. I didn’t get the cheap seats or the best but middle of the road for a good viewing experience.

Now with tickets that high + the moving of the “night” show to accommodate east coast viewers, Im throwing on the sweats grabbing a drink and yelling at the TV from the best seat in the house.
