At least they are acknowledging that transferring production to China and India has led to declining sales.

If you’re referring to my comment I just read the article. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I read the same article and came to a different conclusion.

Pierer Mobility, reacting to the soft sales, has implemented several measures, including transferring some production to India and China and cutting production by 25% for the remainder of the year. The company claims these actions will get it back on track by 2025”

Please share where in the article KTM acknowledges that moving production to Asia led to declining sales.

You should probably re read the article if you have read it already. No where does it say that led to decline in sales. Does say it should put them back on track numbers wise by having India and China doing some production .

Not much disposable income any more in the middle class.

Not if everyone keeps buying $75,000 SUVs and $1,000 big screen TV's. I'm dealing with this and my wife, currently we have a 2380 sq ft 3 bed 2 bath with 2 kids. It's got a 2 car attached and a 26x32ft heated/cooled shop with a double lot. She says it's not big enough and we need to "upgrade". Problem is that'll take our house payment from $800 a month to around $2500 per month. I don't get this mentality of keeping up with the Jones everyone seems to have right now. My buddy just spent $60,000 updating his old house for his wife, it was just fine before just "dated". Now they complain about not having money 😂. People's expectations on housing and run around vehicles needs to be adjusted and we'd all have more money for dirt bikes.

“The typical Millionaire in America drives an F150 of at least 10 years old, has lived in the same house for 30 years….

…Twenty years ago we began studying how people become wealthy. Initially, we did it just as you might imagine, by surveying people in so-called upscale neighborhoods across the country. In time, we discovered something odd. Many people who live in expensive homes and drive luxury cars do not actually have much wealth. Then, we discovered something even odder: Many people who have a great deal of wealth do not even live in upscale neighborhoods.”

Thomas J Stanley, The Millionaire Next Door

Here’s a google link to get the book it if you wanna understand what separates the production and wealth building minded and the consumption minded in the USA.

Sounds like an awesome house setup you have, Timo. A house payment on a place like that out here would be $4000-5000 a month

You and the wife should sit down and work out a spread sheet of expenses. Make sure to include 175,000$  per kid for college.

I’d be happy to trade in my 4000 square foot house for the heated and cooled shop you have if I could talk my wife into it.

They probably hired the co-CEO to be the “bad cop”, so he’ll be the one doing all the cutting.

Being a millionaire on paper isn't what it used to be. Having a mill in home equity(doesn't take being in an upscale neighborhood anymore, whatever that even means) is great but many boomers got that from being at the right place at the right time. It's a different world out there for people under 30 trying to survive and build a life.

First thing they should do is stop wasting the zillions of dollars that MotoGP costs them. Cost to sales ratio has to be horrendous. If I was part of the off road or moto race teams, I'd be highly upset if my budget was getting cut.

And if I was in sales, working myself into a depression trying to squeeze at least an average 15% OEM margin out off the exc product line, I wouldn’t give a fck what the Primadonnas on the race team think. Friss oder stirb.

Anyone think at some point they may get rid of either husky or gasgas?

Three brands really necessary ?

Those other brands give them a truly excellent opportunity, if you ask me. If they utilized them properly - IF - they could keep the "Ready To Race" slogan of the KTM line in place, and focus them exclusively around being the best bikes for the average racer. They could then use the GasGas brand to create a line of fun, much less serious group of family/playbikes/pitbikes. And lastly, they could use the Husqvarna brand to create top-tier, spare-no-expense dream-bikes that cater to buyers who know the history of the Husqvarna brand and who have a pile of disposable income. This would allow them to take on Ducati at the upper upper end of the retail market.

And there you have it - three distinct brands with three distinct goals.

But what the heck do I know? I though the Stark Varg would be racing at the pro level by now, so my opinions carry about as much water as a thimble.

There is no 'keeping up with the Joneses' any longer in most of the west world, no, I guess that's wrong, I'm sure somewhere... but inflation and us sending off everything to China has made us the modern slaves.

Yes, we still live very nicely, life is good, but even the top 1% in Sweden is starting to notice, it's not like it was 10years ago, you simply cannot afford as much any longer even if you are in the 1%.... really, right now you need to be in the top 0,1%.

Anyway, enough of complaints... it is what it is... I'm just trying to sell my boat, only guys answering the ad are 55+, the young 45year olds cannot afford... they are 10years too late in building financial stability...

Life is still good! (SMX Vegas today Smile )

They analyzed the situation and noticed that TikTok was developed in China and the TikTok consumers were in North America... normally developers prosper and consumers spend their money Wink

Sorry... just kidding, but you United States need to turn up your manufacturing, production and everything... the geeks in Silicon Valley are not buying dirt bikes... or, wait... they might be buying Anton Wass's bike Smile

On the return of manufacturing. Even if output hit previous highs, there would be very little in job creation. Besides, wages have been flat for decades now.
